Work Text:
It was winter and the wheater was so fucking cold. Macau was under a blanket, with pants and a hoodie on, waiting for Porschay while playing video games.
When Chay finally arrived at the apartment and entered with his key, Macau could see all the coats that his boyfriend was wearing. Too many to be able to move easily, but not enough to be too suffocated.
"Macauuuuu" Porschay said out loud wanting to draw the attention of his boyfriend who was still too immersed in the game.
Macau greeted his boyfriend, pausing the game to kiss him as he walked to the edge of the bed.
Moments after the welcoming kiss, Chay murmured that he was going to go change into pajamas to get comfortable. Macau resumed the game and was so engrossed in it that when Chay came back from changing he was so distracted that he didn't notice the blanket man standing beside him.
"Cau'... it's cold, warm me up" Macau looked at the youngest and laughed. The sight was so comical yet so cute, Porschay standing in the middle of the room with a blanket over his head, almost like a kid playing ghost.
"-oh god you look like a kid" Pausing the video game he grabbed Chay's waist and pulled him to lay beside him
"How can my boyfriend be so childish?" Chay rolled his eyes and hide on Macau's chest "Shut up and just cuddle with me" Macau smiled at the action and hugged Chay the same way, tight and warm.
"I'm joking, I love you, even if sometimes you look so childish," Macau said as he lefts a kiss on top of Porschay's hair. "Do you want to watch a movie?"
Macau said waiting for an answer from Chay.
Chay just slid under the blanket Macau was lying on, rejoicing in the warmth emanating from her boyfriend's body and the blanket he was resting on. He wrapped an arm across his boyfriend's chest, resting his head on his shoulder. Wanting to absorb as much body heat as he could.
"Yes, I want to see a movie" The curly-haired boy finally replied. And then continued talking. "It's freezing outside, you're lucky you didn't have classes at the university today, it was torture walking in this cold."
"I know, you're so cold, your hands are cold," Macau answered as he covered the hand resting on his chest with his own. "What movie do you want to see?"
"I don't know, why don't you surprise me?" Chay said.
They were about halfway through the movie when Chay made a weird noise in his throat. Macau ignored it and continued hugging his boyfriend in the position they had taken to watch the movie in peace. Porschay's head and back rested completely on Macau's chest, while the boy had his arms completely on top of Chay, surrounding his shoulders and squeezing him slightly, too comfortable under the covers.
Then Macau heard it again and moved his eyes from the screen to Chay, trying to see what was making his boyfriend uncomfortable.
Chay had his arms crossed right behind Macau's arms, over his chest and his fingers were digging into his arms, a thing that Macau hadn't noticed because of the covers.
He made that strangled noise again and his face screwed up.
Macau’s heart beat faster in his chest when he realized his boyfriend was trying not to cry.
Macau looked back to the screen and then back to Chay slowly, turning his head this time.
“You’ve seen this before, right? I mean I remember you saying that I had to watch it cuz it was good… right? I just put it because I thought it would be nice watching it with you” Macau asked slowly. Chay flinched a little and tried to hide more in Macau's chest, wanting to make himself so little, so his boyfriend can't see him, but it wasn't possible so he cleared his throat and said.
“Yeah Mac', I’ve seen it a lot of times. So what? Just shut up and watch it.” Chay said defensively, not looking away from the screen and pulling his arms closer to himself, trying to not cry more from the movie, not wanting to give his boyfriend reasons to tease him later.
“Sorry I just meant- nothing, sorry,” Macau said, not wanting to make Chay uncomfortable, the boy seemed so immersed in the movie, so Macau turned back to the movie biting his lip. He saw Chay look at him after he’d looked away but he ignored it.
Chay let himself sink further in his boyfriend's chest, and then he pulled the covers high enough so that only his eyes peeked out from the end of the blanket.
Macau heard Chay sniffle again and saw him raise his hand to his eyes and then drop it back to cross it on his chest again.
Macau cleared his own throat roughly and moved his hand from where it was, and reached to one of chays hands. shaking as he made it. Chay took it and hold it with his own, without saying anything.
Macau's cheeks started to feel hot, and he was blushing from holding Chay's hand as he haven't done it so many times before, but his boyfriend seemed so different his emotions raw from the movie that was somehow a more intimate moment.
About twenty minutes later Macau’s throat was tight. He was watching how the dog in the movie returned to the station trying to reunite with its owner, faithfully waiting for him.
Macau’s eyes were stinging and his chest was burning as tears started rolling down his cheeks. He hiccuped and then sobbed some more, Chay realized this because he could feel the boy's chest moving unevenly.
Macau wrapped his arms tighter around Chay and then sucked in a deep breath, he’d been trying to cry quietly and forgotten to breathe.
He saw Chay trying to look at him but couldn’t look at him from his position in between Macau's legs and with his chest as a backrest.
Chay got out of his embrace, and began to move, uncovering them, when Chay turned completely changing his position from how they were sitting before, putting each of his legs on the sides of Macau's legs and sitting on his lap, Macau wasn't able to see his boyfriend's face clearly because of his tears.
Macau's fingers were digging into his own arms painfully but he hadn’t really noticed, needing to hold something to stop his cry.
The tall boy took another shaky breath and then Chay’s hands were on his arms. Macau looked at him and saw that Chay had tears on his face too.
Chay gently pulled Macau’s arms away from himself and stretched them, getting him to relax a little, pulling his fingers away from his ribs and smoothing his hand gently over the dents in Macau’s sweatshirt.
Macau shivered and looked back to the tv as he let Chay rearrange him.
Chay sat on Macau's lap, putting his arms around the boy's shoulders. Keeping him close to him, trying to calm the sobs of both, forgetting to cover himself with the blanket again. Macau's hands were on Chay's waist as he continued to watch the TV screen.
Chay also turned from time to time to be able to continue watching fragments of the movie that he had seen many times with his older brother, knowing that every time he saw it he cried seas, but not wanting to stop watching such a beautiful movie.
Both of them cried, as they watched the dog in the movie still waiting in the same place in the train station where it lies on the ground and falls asleep for the last time while dreaming of its owner, and then finally dying.
Macau sucked in the air awkwardly loudly again and then Chay’s hand was in his, their fingers tangling together easily.
Macau tried to stay calm, letting his fingers fall gently against Chay’s warm skin.
They watched the rest of the movie and then Macau let his eyes fall to their tangled hands. They sat there, he and Chay, the only sound in the room was the music playing as the credits rolled.
Macau opened his mouth and then closed it again, licking his lips and not knowing what to say, Chay leaned closer slowly, pressing into Macau’s chest gently. He pressed his lips to his boyfriend’s shoulder and then rested his head where his lips had just been. Macau relaxed almost instantly, sinking into the head of the bed and in the pillows that surrounded them as he hugged chay closer, letting his boyfriend's scent completely relax him.
When they both stopped crying, Chay separated from Macau just long enough to be face to face, looking at him, his little eyes too red from crying, his cheeks full of traces of tears, Chay thought his face must be in too much of a state. similar to the one on the face of Macau.
Macau gave a small smile and said "My boyfriend is so sentimental, crying with a movie," trying to lighten the mood a bit. Chay knew that Macau would try to make fun of him from the first time the boy saw him shed tears earlier that night. But what he didn't expect was to be able to answer that mockery as well.
"You're so sappy," he said and laughed a little. "I never thought I'd see you cry at a movie"
"It's a pretty good movie okay? And I have a soft spot for dogs" Macau tried to defend himself.
"Yes, it's a nice movie, I always cry when I see it, I was surprised that you put it on," Chay confessed.
"You had mentioned it on one of our dates. I wanted to be a good boyfriend and show you that I pay attention to you even in the little details, but I didn't expect to end up crying." Macau said and then kissed the corner of his boyfriend's lips. Chay before the gesture returns many small kisses on the other boy's face.
Their tears caused by the too sad movie (for the two boys) were forgotten, little laughs ringing in the room while they left little kisses on each other's faces.
When they left the kissing fight, Chay leaned back next to his boyfriend, putting an arm and a leg on top of him, while his head rested on one of the black-haired boy's shoulders.
"Can you cover us with the blankets? It's too cold." Chay asked when he was finally done settling in, Macau easily pulled the covers up and covered them both.
Then Chay pulled the remote closer and pulled up another movie on Netflix. He clicked it and then moved his other hand to Macau’s arm, wrapping his fingers around Macau’s bicep and giving it a gentle squeeze.
“What’s this one about?” Macau whispered, not wanting to ruin the moment with loud talking, his low voice sounding a bit rough. Chay moved his head against Macau’s shoulder, getting comfortable again.
“It’s a romcom,” Chay said, keeping his voice low too. He sounded amused. Macau smiled and chuckled.
“Sounds good.” He said, sniffing once more and wiping the last of the wetness on his face away with his free hand.
“It is not sad,” He said, squeezing Macau’s arm again. Macau rubbed a small circle onto Chay’s hand with his thumb.
“You promise?” Macau asked, his voice still a whisper. Chay was silent for a moment and then he pulled their tangled hands up to his lips, pressed a soft kiss to the back of Macau’s hand, and let their hands fall back down.
“I promise.” He whispered, smiling against Macau’s shoulder as he watched the screen. Macau felt heat in his cheeks again, spreading down his neck. He smiled and sank a little further, getting comfortable pressed against Chay as the new movie began.
