   Summary

   Ed's looting a closet in the captain's cabin, finding lots of great stuff, when he hears Stede at the door--not his voice, or even his footsteps, but his heavy breathing. He turns, and finds Stede, wearing a stolen jacket that almost looks like it was tailored for him. His face and linen shirt are spattered with blood and gunpowder, and he's got that look on his face, the one that Ed rarely sees outside of their own cabin. A twisted, fuzzy thing settles in Ed's gut.
