    Summary

Lorraine Wallace definitely thought that life was like a fairy-tale her mom would read to her before bed. It was full of optimism, friendship, hope and a bright future. And like any other person on this Earth, that dream was just that. A fantasy. It wasn’t real. The illusion of what was cracked like broken glass the day her mother passed, and the pieces were left scattered, only she was too young to put the pieces back into place. Her father never was the same, he became a statue of the man she once knew, a shadow of what seemed like a distant past. Eddie Munson grew up with a father that was more like a drill instructor. He was nothing other than a splinter in his grand scheme of life, full of things that no boy should endure or witness. The day his uncle took him under his wing was probably the happiest he could remember. Starting school in a new town, though, wasn’t. Thank god for Lorraine. The two were inseparable. Two shattered mirrors scrambling to fix it the way others told them to. And even though through the years, each of them were able to pick up the pieces, slowly and gently, putting themselves back together. There was always one piece neither could fill. The last piece to make themselves real.
