Cdisctober prompts day 3

Summary:

Cdisctober day 3

Prompt: Display

Tommy's curiousity causes him to find something incredible, but also gets him in trouble.

Work Text:

Dream had set up a tent next to Tommy’s tent. When Tommy asked why, Dream said he wanted to be close by in case anything happened to Tommy.
Dream’s tent was a lot bigger and nicer than Tommy’s tent.
Tommy had wondered how the tent looked on the inside. Would there be weapons? Food? Maybe something else interesting?
“Dream, can I look into the tent someday?” Tommy asked one day, while Dream was starting a fire for the night.
“No, that tent is my territory. You go in there, and you will never see L’Manburg ever again. Understood?” Dream said sharply.
“Yes, sir.” Tommy said as he sat down on the ground and just stared at the fire.

That night, Tommy waited for Dream to go to bed. When he was sure Dream was asleep, he snuck out of his own tent and took a quick look into Dream’s tent. Dream was asleep on a bed in the middle of the tent, there were several chests and an armour stand with Dream’s armour on it. There was also a display cabinet, but Tommy couldn’t see what was in it.
Tommy was about to take another step into the tent to look closer at the display cabinet, but then Dream stirred in his sleep and Tommy didn’t know how fast he had to run out of the tent.
He raced back to his own tent and threw himself into bed.
He hoped Dream hadn’t woken up. He hoped Dream didn’t come and check on him.
Eventually Tommy was able to fall asleep.

The next morning Tommy woke up because he heard someone walk around outside his tent. When he listened better, he knew it was Dream. Tommy slowly sat up.
“Tommy, are you coming out of your tent? I know you are awake.”
Tommy sighed and walked out the tent. “Good morning, Dream.”
Dream smiled at Tommy. “Good morning. How did you sleep?” He asked.
“Quite well, it was a bit cold.”
“What were you doing at midnight?” Dream suddenly asked.
Tommy’s eyes shot open wide.
“I was sleeping. Yup, very asleep.” Tommy said.
“Alright. I believe you. Ehm… well. I have to go. I will be back later today. Don’t misbehave, okay?” Dream said as he picked up a bag and got ready to leave.
“I would never.” Tommy answered with a smile.

The second Dream left, Tommy rushed to Dream’s tent and went inside. The armour was gone, the chest was left half open and there behind Dream’s bed, the display cabinet. Tommy walked closer and actually gasped. Inside where his discs. The real ones. They had been this close all along. He saw the scratches on the discs from all the fighting. The fingerprints, and everything else. They were so close.
Tommy was about to figure out how to open the case, when he got grabbed at the back of his shirt.
“TOMMY! WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!” Dream thundered. “This was the one place you weren’t allowed to go.”
“I am so sorry. I will never do it again. I promise.” Tommy begged.
“No. Time to go outside. You need to get punished and you know that, Tommy. I need to think about what kind of punishment though.” Dream pulled Tommy out of the tent.
“So wait here, while I think.”
