Everyone knows that Devon is confident, she's not afraid of a challenge and will always try her hardest to do what is right. One thing that she doesn't talk about is her love life, not because she can, it's because she doesn't want to. Of course, she's out to her friends, family, and others she's close to. It's something she just keeps closed up.
Devon was grabbing books for her next class when her crush walked up to her, "Hey Devon," she said.
"Hey Emily," Devon replied, she always kept her cool around her, even when it gets awkward.
Emily smiled, "So, I heard from others about this Sekai Takai, I mean I'm not really in that but after all," she stopped talking but continued, "How's training for it going?"
Devon shrugged, "It's going fine honestly, Sensei Lawrence, LaRusso, and Toguchi have been making sure we get prepared to the best we can. I'm going to class now, talk to you soon?"
Emily nods, "K, bye," she turns and walks the other way.
"So, haven't asked Emily out yet?" a voice said which was obviously Bert's.
Devon turned to him, "No, why do you ask?"
Bert shrugged, "Isn't it obvious, you like her."
"You know that already," she tells him, "I keep my cool around her and even when she's not around."
Anthony nods, "We know, that's why you're always confident."
Devon frowned, "Don't start me about Lia and how you haven't asked her out or your fight with Kenny over her attention. I do have confidence but I don't know how to approach her in asking her out," she said.
Bert raised his eyebrows, "I think you could ask Tory and Sam," he tells her, "They can help you."
"Also Moon and Yasmine," Anthony added.
Devon thought about it for a minute, "You two may be idiots sometimes, but that is amazing advice. I'll try at lunch."

At lunch, Devon saw Sam, Tory, and Miguel talking she sat down across from them. Tory noticed Devon and gave her a smile.
"Hey Devon what's up?" she asked, "If you're wondering about Robby, he's sick today."
Devon shook her head, "It's not that, I need help, there's this girl and I need advice on asking her out."
Sam nods, "Tory and I can help, plus I'll text Moon and Yas as well."
Devon laughed, "That's what Anthony said."
Miguel chuckled, "So what's her name?" he asked.
"Emily Stevens," Devon replied.
Moon and Yasmine sat down, "Sam, we got the text," Moon said.
Yasmine sighs and turns to Devon, "So, Devon you need relationship advice?"
Devon nods, "Yeah, I want to ask this girl I like to homecoming cause it's coming up."
"Is she cute?" Moon asked.
Devon smiled, "Yeah," she replied, "She's actually sitting over there."
The others turn and look over at who Devon was pointing at.
"Yeah, she is," Moon said.
"MOON!" Sam, Tory, Devon, and Yasmine said at the same time.
Moon blinked, "I knew during your fights in the All-Valley, you have confidence."
Devon shrugged, "I guess you have a point."
Sam looks at her phone, "How about we continue this after school, at my place?"
The group nodded, "Well good luck," Miguel said.
"Now to other things," Sam said.

That evening at the LaRusso household, Sam, Tory, Moon, Yasmine, and Devon were all hanging out in the living room. As Devon was telling them about how long she has had a crush on Emily.
"I can keep my cool around her," Devon said, "Even when I'm not, well you know my confidence."
Tory nods, "Right, and from what I've seen Emily gay panics when she's around you."
Devon raised her eyebrows, "I know she likes me just by her behavior around me."
Yasmine crossed her arms, "Some people can just tell."
"Should we practice?" she asks Devon.
Devon shrugs, "Whatever, I guess," she replied.
They all look over at Anthony and he gives a look, "What? I'm not eavesdropping I have my earbuds in and I'm playing video games."
Moon sighed, "We need your help," she tells him, "Can you pretend to be Emily?"
Anthony frowns, "If you're asking me to use a fake voice." he said, "But I will anyway."
"Dude," Devon interrupted him, "Just help us, I want to be confident enough to ask Emily to homecoming, just please."
Anthony nods, "I guess, then I get help with Lia."
Sam smirked, "Of course, we can," she tells him.
Devon took a few deep breaths, she just wants to be confident enough to ask Emily out. She's liked her for about a year, but her crush on her developed over time. After a couple of minutes, she opens her eyes.
"Hey Emily," Devon says.
Anthony looks at Devon, "Hmm?" he said trying his best girl voice impression.
Everyone tried to hold in laughter, "I wanted to ask you something," Devon continued.
"Yeah?" Anthony asked.
"Emily, I was wondering if you'd go to homecoming with me?"
Anthony claps, "That is perfect," he tells her.
Devon sighs, "Thanks guys, I think I can do this tomorrow, after I'm done here I'm going to prepare a poster board. Now for you and Lia, Anthony."
They just laughed and had a good time hanging out, Moon and Yasmine were prepping Anthony to a good point where he can ask out Lia. After Moon and Yasmine left, Sam, Tory, Anthony, and Devon talked about karate.

The next day at school, Devon and Anthony were talking about how they are going to ask out their respective crush. The school day was over and everyone was heading out so Devon had to work quickly.
"Well, it's time to do this," she tells Anthony.
He nods, "This will be interesting," he said, "Let us know, how it goes."
Devon pulled the poster board out of her locker, luckily Emily's back was turned because she was talking to a friend. Devon also took out a bouquet she bought before school.
"Hey Emily," Devon said.
Emily turns around, "Hey who's that for?" she asked twirling her hair.
Devon chuckles, "These flowers are for you and there's something I must tell you."
Emily blushes, "I can't believe you got me flowers."
Devon took a deep breath, "Emily I have had a crush on you for a year and I was wondering if you'd be my date to homecoming, what do you say?"
Emily had a smile on her face, "I have had a crush on you for like since we met. I can't believe you're asking me. YES I will," she wraps her arms around Devon and hugs her.
Devon chuckles, "Yeah," she said.
Emily let goes, "Can I kiss you?" she asks.
Devon nods, "Sure, if you want to."
She kisses Emily softly on the lips, "I got to go now, see ya."
Emily shrugs, "Ok."
Devon sees Bert and Anthony smiling, "What?" she asked annoyed.
Bert keeps smiling, "Looks like you have a girlfriend now."
"Shut up," she says sarcastically then continued in a serious tone, "She's mine, so back off."
They laugh and talk all the way to Miyagi-Do for training.
