Jonathan pounds on the glass window with the fire extinguisher.Exhausted and in aching pain, he stops.He closes eyes.
Nancy’s in trouble and he is too weak to save her.
His back hurts, his legs are tired, and he is breathing heavily.Jonathan then goes back to hitting the door.
”Jonathan!”
”Nancy!”
He turns to the kids running up to him.
”Jonathan?What happened to your face?!Are you okay?!”
”Where’s Nancy?!”
Jonathan answers Mike’s question by pointing at the door.
”M-mind Flayer…”He stutters.
They hear glass shatter.Eleven immediately steps in front of Jonathan.
Eleven uses her powers to blast the door open.
But it was too late.
Nancy’s body was lying on the floor.There was a puddle of blood.
The window was broken.
”Nancy…”He whispers, shocked by the sight.
Jonathan slowly makes his way over to her.He kneels by her body.She was breathing, slow and heavily.
Nancy used all her strength to look over at him.She couldn’t say anything.She couldn’t smile.All she could was look and shed a tear.
Her eyes close as blood starts dripping out her mouth.With a shaking hand, Jonathan puts two fingers on her neck.
No pulse.
Mike was by his side by then.
”Is she…”He didn’t finish his question.He didn’t want to believe that she was gone.
Jonathan chokes on his tears.
Oh Nancy.I’m so sorry.
El was holding Mike as he cried, who was also crying.Will came up to Jonathan and held him tight, trying not to look at her body.Even Max was crying.Dustin and Lucas were in the back, not wanting to see Nancy like this.
Jonathan wanted to scream.To punch something.
This is all my fault.
”She isn’t dead.Right?”He asks his brother.
”Jonathan…”Will tries.
”Nancy…she’s still alive.She just sleeping.Not dead.R-right?She not gone.Right?”He tries to deny the fact.The fact that she is really gone.
”Jonathan…I’m so sorry.”He hugs his brother tighter as his cries get louder.
What are we going to tell her parents?Holly?
It shouldn’t have been you.It should’ve been me.
“Oh, Jonathan!”He mom says as she lets go of Will and hugs him.
He cries into his mom shoulder.Will had told her what happened.Turns out, they both lost someone important to them.She lost Hopper and he lost Nancy.
Why him?
Why is it always him who suffers?
This summer was supposed to be the highlight of his life.He got together with the girl of his dreams, his brother is not missing or possessed, and his mother started to get more happier since Bob’s death.
But now, he lost Nancy.And it’s his fault.
After he calmed down, he looked to where Mike and his parents were.They were all crying.Mike must have told them.
Mrs.Wheeler looked at him.Her eyes were filled with tears.He slowly walks up to them.
Karen parts from Mike and looks at Jonathan.No words needed as they held each other and cried.
I miss you so much, Nancy.
