   Summary

   Jackie works every day to squeeze a life out of the violence that paints an island she's paid with blood to influence. Despite her precarious hold on power, she also covertly indulges in softer pursuits with the mysterious secret that swims a few miles from the shoreline. The tug-of-war between the life she leads and the otherwordly being she wants to follow intensifies each day. All too soon, something has to snap.
