It's been 7-8 months since Emu & Nene got introduced to the Wonderland Sekai. They've seen the main areas, like the ferris wheel and other rides, but there are some areas they haven't seen yet.
So that's why Nene is here, stuck with Emu who dragged her along to explore the Sekai with her. (dragged actually meaning Nene just agreed to come along to spend more time with Emu)
Right now though, they're just walking around, looking at areas here and there, trying to spot anything new. I mean, there was this one thing they found, but it was just a colourful shed filled with books on how to be a successful star.
No luck so far, so they just decided to look at the sky for anything. There were balloons everywhere, a flying train, and clouds that looked like... Cotton candy?
"Nene-chan, look! Are those cotton candy in the sky?!"
"Emu- those are clouds..."
"But- but they look like cotton candy!"
"I mean... Maybe they do, but still, those are just pink clouds."
"Can I eat them?"
"W-What?! No! Besides, how are you planning to eat them anyway-?"
"Hmm... Don't the benches fly? I remember Tsukasa-kun sitting on one, and he started floating up and up in the air!"
"Oh right, they do... Wait. Don't tell me you're gonna actually go on the bench?!"
"You read my mind! Woo-wooooooosh!!" Emu ran off.
"Huh?! E-Emu! Wait up!!" Nene ran, trying to catch up with Emu.
Nene tried running as fast as she could, yet she just couldn't beat Emu's speed. Even so... She was able to get on the bench with Emu, so phew! She wasn't left behind.
"Ooooo! You ran really fast, Nene-chan! Wonderhoyful job!!"
"Phew... T-Thanks..." Nene puffed, trying to catch her breath from using all her energy.
"How high even are we-?"
Nene then looked down, and her heart almost stopped. They were at least 62 meters in the air. How fast even is this bench?!
"A-AHHHH!!" Nene shrieked.
"Nene-chan?! What's wrong?!" Emu concernedly questioned.
Most of the time, Nene didn't have a problem with heights, but 1 wrong move on the bench, and it's over.
"S-So... High... Up..."
"Really? Oh wow! We are high up!"
Emu's eyes sparkled.
"But even so, no need to be scared! I've got you!"
Emu reassured. It brought Nene some form of comfort.
“Woaah! Nene-chaan! Look at this view!!" Emu shook Nene, and all of Nene's worries almost disappeared.
The view was amazing. You could see everything! Every ride, every area— wait. Every area? Those areas caught both of the girls' attention. They'll explore those after though, with Emu wanting to eat the 'cotton candy' in the sky.
They were almost near one of the clouds, with how fast the bench flies up.
"Nene-chan! Look, cotton candy!"
"Wow, we're here already... It's only been like- 4 minutes too!" Nene said, surprised.
Emu reached to the cloud, and took a piece.
"W-Wait, you were actually serious?!"
"Of course I was! But I also wanted to see how fun it was to be on the bench with Nene-chan!" Emu smiled widely.
Of course, with Nene not being used to people actually enjoying themselves when they're around her (Rui doesn't count), she blushed a bit, looking away slightly.
"I-I see..." Nene stuttered.
Emu then took a bite out of the cloud, and it... Was actually cotton candy!
"Mmm! I was right! It was cotton candy!"
"Huh?? It is?!"
"Yeah! Here's a piece for you!"
Then Emu handed Nene a piece of the cotton candy. Nene was hesitant, but she decided to trust Emu, just because Emu wouldn't lie to her... Right? So she took a bite, and her eyes widened slightly. She wasn't expecting Emu to actually be correct.
"Wow... You were right, it is cotton candy...!"
"Hehe! Seee? I told you~!"
As the 2 girls were enjoying their cotton candy, a realization suddenly hit Nene. How the hell were they supposed to get down?!
"Wait. Emu, how are we supposed to get down...?"
"Hmm... I know! We could jump on the train! It's not that far from here anyway!"
"W-WHAT?! Jump on the train?!"
'S-She can't be serious! We would end up dying if we tried that! But this is Emu we're talking about... Everything she says is genuine...!"
"Emu, we would end up dying if we tried that!"
"Well, we could do a leap of faith!"
"Faith?! For what, dying?!"
"Just trust meee! Please, Nene-chaaann?" Emu pleaded, with a puppy eyes.
Usually, when people give Nene puppy eyes, she would still refuse. Yet somehow with Emu, it worked every. Single. Time. Nene tried to resist, but she just couldn't. How does Emu always convince her??
"O-Okay... Fine! I'll trust you, but just this once!"
"Yay! Okay, on the count of 3!" Emu cheered.
'I can't believe I'm doing this...’ Nene thought in disbelief.
"3..."
'Wait a second...'
"2..."
'I-Is it too late to turn back—'
"1!!"
Emu grabbed Nene's hand, and jumped off the bench.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Nene screamed.
...
They made it!! They were truly on the train! Nene refused to believe that they actually made it. Emu on the other hand, who knew that her plan would work, cheered loudly, and hugged Nene.
"Wahaha! I told you we would make it! You trusted me, right, riiiight?"
"Y-Yeah, I trusted you... D-Don't worry."
The reason for Nene stuttering was not because of disbelief. Instead, it was because Emu was hugging her. And you know Nene, not being used to being hugged. So her reaction was expected, a face covered in pink.
"Anyhoo, the ground is near! Let's explore more areas!!"
"Alright then, let's explore more areas."
"O-kay! Come on, Nene-chan! I saw a really colorful area when we were on the bench!" Emu reached her hand out to Nene.
Nene took that hand, and Emu led her from there. After a couple of minutes or so, they finally reached the bright, neon area. It was filled with talking plushies, and dancing flowers. It was practically something out of a children's show. All you can hear is laughter, and squeaky voices.
"Ohhh! It's Emu-chan & Nene-chan!" The bunny plush raised her voice.
"Wonderhoy, bunny-chan!"
"H-Hello there..." Nene shyly greeted.
Soon after that, it was like they were celebrities. All the girls could see were dozens of plushies, and other living creatures surrounding them.
"Wow! There's so many of them!"
"Y-Yeah! There are!"
Then 1 teddy bear walked shyly to the both of them.
"I-I have a question..."
"Yes?" The both girls asked.
"Is she your girlfriend?" The teddy bear pointed to Nene, asking Emu the question.
'H-HUH?!' Nene thought in shock.
"Girlfriend? Hm... Yeah! She is my girlfriend!"
'W-WHAT DID SHE SAY?!' Yelled Nene in her mind.
"E-Emu, what are you doing?!" Nene whispered loudly.
"Hehe~☆ Just trying to see if I can make you flustered! And it looks like I succeeded! You're so cuteee!" Emu whispered.
No way. Did she just call Nene cute? Oh my god, she did! Nene's heart was going all over the place, her face was all shades of pink, and her mind had a bunch of questions like, 'MAKE ME FLUSTERED???' or 'I-I'M CUTE?!' or even another thought like, 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAA—'
After all that chaos...
Nene was still caught up about how Emu practically called her attractive. Emu? Calling Nene attractive? Nene, the shy introvert who had a sharp tongue? This had to be a dream, maybe someone should pinch her just in case. Nene couldn't believe it. She was just wondering what the hell she got herself into.
Currently, they are now walking towards... Well- somewhere.
"Can we explore this 1 area? Just 1 more?Pleeease?"
"Al-alright, we can explore 1 more area."
"Hoorayyy! I saw this really pretty fountain too!"
"Fountain? Like a normal fountain?
"No silly, this fountain!" Emu said, as she showed a glittery fountain, that showed the reflection of the bright sun.
It was just beautiful— no. Gorgeous. Who knew someone's feelings like Tsukasa could make this? (that wasn't Tsukasa slander.) Nene sure didn't, since she thought he was an idiot.
"Wow... It's stunning...!" Nene said, astonished by the sight before her.
"Hehe... It is! Wanna know who else is pretty?"
"Who?"
Yeah, who? Who could possibly be as alluring as this fountain?
"You of course, Nene-chan!"
What?
"You're the prettiest girl I've ever met! It almost sends my heart to oblivion!!" Emu smiled warmly.
'N-No way... Is this...?'
"E-Emu... Are you saying that...?" Nene questioned, just to make sure.
"Hmm? Saying whaat?" Emu teased playfully.
"Y-You know... Are you s-saying that you..." Nene paused.
She just couldn't finish her sentence. Instead, she just made a heart with her hands, then pointed to herself. She was hoping Emu would get the hint, and luckily, Emu did. Nene would've died of embarrassment if she had to complete her sentence.
"Hehe, yep! I am! I love you so much, Nene-chan! You make my heart go all BOOM-BOOM-PEOWWWW!!!" Emu said, with a burst of energy.
"Although... I am wondering... Does Nene-chan feel the same?" Emu shyly said with a soft tone, much different to her usual energetic one.
'How was I so blind... So this feeling was... Love? Haha... How did I not see it? All those times Emu seemed brighter, all those times where my heart beats fast... All those times where I felt like I wanted to be with Emu forever... That was... Love. Hehe... Guess Emu can do anything, can she?' Nene thought, smiling.
"Y-Yes... I do feel the same, Emu. I... I love you a lot t-too." Nene smiled.
"You do?! HOORAY!! I'm so happy! I could just— WONDERHOYYYY!!!" Emu cheered, as she tackled Nene into a hug, as they both fall to the ground.
"A-Ah! E-Emu!!" Nene flushed, as her face turned red again from how close Emu was.
Yet... She hugged her back, smiling softly.
