"I'm never leaving you, Mika!"
"We'll always be together."
"You'll always have me, Mika."
Dead words. Those were dead words to Mika. Whenever he heard them, he forced a smile. He knew those couldn't possibly come true. Not with this body he now has.
One day, Yuu will be gone. And himself? He'll still be in his sixteen-year old body. He'll witness how Yuu dies. Old age? Best case scenario. Disease? He couldn't bear seeing his love in pain. Murder..? He wouldn't let that happen. Surely.
Sometimes, Mika lays down, staring at the ceiling above. Thinking about the fact Yuu is growing older and he is not. Yuu will grow to have wrinkles, greying hair and tiring expressions. Himself? A vampire in his sixteen-year olds self's body.
Mika is sure that he hates himself.
He feels selfish sometimes.
Sometimes, he wants to shove Yuu to the ground, hold him in place. Digging his fangs into his bottom lip, as the blood drips down he'd press his lips against Yuu's. Forcing Yuu to be a monster. He hates himself for these thoughts.
"Don't worry, we'll find a way to make you human again!"
"You won't always be a vampire. You can deal with it for a little while longer, right?"
"When you're human again, imagine all the naps we'll have together!"
Mika couldn't help but sadly smile at Yuu's naivety. He doubted there was a 'cure' out there. If there was, surely they'd have something to go on. But they don't.
He wished he could experience human life again, even just for a moment. He'd be utmost grateful.
Fuck.
What would he do without Yuu?
Of course he's considered suicide. That's what his mind immediately goes towards. But, he's a vampire. Let's say he was to starve himself, he'd become a demon. That was a horrifying fate he didn't want to even consider. There was no escape for him. His destiny was a lonely one.
At least he still has quite a bit of time left with Yuu…
And it could never have been enough.
"Don't forget about me.. Okay?" Idiot.
"I'll always love you." Then why do you leave me?
"We'll find each other in the next life." Will I even have a next life?
Mika felt nothing. Nothing at all. Not anymore.
Yuu was the only person that held his emotions tight in a thread. Now that he's gone? He feels nothing.
He doesn't even feel like dying anymore. He doesn't feel like living either.
He doesn't.. feel…
He thinks he wants Yuu back. He can't feel that anymore, but he thinks he does.
Mika sat on a rooftop atop of a tall building. His vampiric eyes scanned the lands, not sure what he was looking for. Perhaps a prey. He doesn't have his late loves' delicious life force to feed on anymore.
Mika can tell his fangs miss him. They throb whenever he reminisces of the pure taste Yuu had. No human has ever compared to his blood.
He let out a hum, and stood at the edge of the building. A long way down.
But down there is where he's headed anyway.
Mika closed his eyes, he wished this was his last piece of existence. He could pretend.
Stepping off the ledge, he felt himself fall. He thought he was floating.
Floating straight to hell.
