Summary
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” snaps Wilbur. “You’re my brother.”
The room feels too small, too fragile to hold what he’s meant to become. Wilbur must be suffocating. Tommy squeezes his eyes shut.
“How?” he croaks. “How can you look at me how I am now and still fucking think that?”
He feels a hand on his head. Tommy hesitantly peers up. Wilbur is smiling.
"Because,” his brother says quietly, brushing his blond curls away, “you haven’t changed. I loved you then. I love you now.”
Tommy chokes on the cry wanting to escape his throat. Wilbur’s hand pauses on the side of his cheek.
“And, I’ll love you forever.”
It's easier to cling onto the boy they want him to be. Maybe it's time they all learned to let go.

Jayce hurried down the halls of the academy, praying and hoping Viktor would be where he left him. He swung the door open with a loud bang, disrupting Skye at her workstation.
“Vitya,” he breathed, “I think I fucked up.”
He laid eyes on the shorter man, hip propped up against a desk with a cup of coffee in hand and the morning’s paper in another.
“It would seem so, my love.” Viktor replied, not looking up from the newspaper, “I’m reading about it right now.”
“It’s already in the paper?” Jayce questioned frantically.
