He didn’t realize he’d spoken aloud until he felt Lucy’s chuckle, breath gusting over his throat.

She inched closer, nuzzling along the line of his jaw. Something was jumping up and down at the back of Kipps’ mind, one lone little brain cell telling him that he should really be panicking about now, but he couldn’t quite remember why.
“George did patch you up, though,” she was saying over the buzz of his rising anxiety, “made sure you wouldn’t bleed to death. I can do more, but Lockwood insisted it had to be your choice.”

Summary
Everything feels out of control. And the worst part is, for most things, George doesn’t know how to fix them. After biting (and maybe also hooking up) with Max everyone is speculating about which vampire Max got involved with. Driven by jealousy and a desire to regain at least some control over the situation, George decides to visit Max in his hotel room. But Max is once again asking too many (very private and inappropriate) questions, and maybe it’s time for another lesson.
Or: Max and George have to deal with the consequences of their actions, the FIA is meddling as usual, and George’s plan to confront Max ends up in his bed again.

The last thing he felt before everything went black was the press of cold hands catching him, steadying him as he fell.
The next morning, he had no memory of what happened.

There are a few things George didn’t expect from co-parenting his vampire teammate with Max Verstappen. First, that Max would actually show interest in vampires. Second, that he and Max would meet up in private (it’s not a date - just an educational conversation!). And third, that he would be allowed to bite Max and taste his blood.
Or: Kimi is surprisingly good at backgammon, Max keeps asking more vampire questions, and George is trying very hard not to lose control of his instincts and feelings.
