He doesn’t owe the Talamasca shit, certainly not his presence at a fucking office party in fucking London where it’s cold as balls, and there’s a fucking blizzard blowing up outside.
There’s only one reason he’s bothered staying at least somewhat in their good graces. He let them use him, and now he’s going to use them right back. Because surely, someone at this fucking off-brand X-files hellhole must have some idea of where his fucking maker is.

“Bet you wish you could actually get drunk off that,” Rashid says.
Sam turns to him and gives him a look. It’s near impossible to read. It might be serious, but there might also be the slightest, faintest trace of mild amusement bubbling just below the surface. “Why? Because I’m Irish?”
Rashid nearly chokes on his tongue. “Oh… uh… wha… no… I—”
Then the loveliest thing happens. Sam laughs. He laughs, and he grabs Rashid’s upper arm and gives it a little squeeze. “Unclench, darlin’, I’m having you on.”
