His chest is shakily falling with every strangled breath, as if he’s genuinely struggling with getting air in, though he’s trying to keep his struggles hidden, nails digging into his coat further.

“What? Why the hell is it pink?” Wilbur scrunches up his nose.
“That's what makes it special, Wil. We have got to take it home.”
Wilbur shakes his head. “There's no way, Toms. We live in an apartment. There's simply no way.”
Tommy shrugs. “We can keep it if we don't tell dad."

Techno creeps up to his room, and right before he turned the doorknob, something shuffles behind him. His eyes go wide at the sudden realisation that he most likely looks the most suspicious he's ever been. Techno clears his throat and faces the perpetrator.
“I thought you were a fucking robber,” his older brother narrows his eyes. “What're you doing being all sneaky?”
“Uhhh, nothing,” Techno puts his hands behind his back, hiding nothing in particular except for the throbbing on his knee.
“No, no, you're acting weird,” Tommy shakes his head. “Hurry up and spill before I call Dad.”
“I'm telling you, it's nothing," Techno looks at him with a straight face hoping it's at least somewhat convincing. He leans on his left leg, letting it carry all his weight and all his burdens. The cloth of his pants ends up rubbing against his scraped knee, precipitous urticating forcing him to slam his back into the wall behind him.
OR
Techno trips at the playground, gets hurt, and tries to hide it from Tommy. Keyword, tries.

“Hello? Hellooo?” Tommy drawls, snapping his fingers in front of Techno who doesn’t even blink or flinch at the sudden motion. “Is anyone home in there?”
“What the fuck..” Tommy mumbles to himself. “Um, hello?” he shakes the older by the shoulder lightly so as to not startle him. He gets startled anyways, floundering away from Tommy while he blinks furiously, pupils finally regaining soul—yet, they are frantic, as if he is searching for something that was never in the room to begin with.
Techno looks at his younger brother indecisively and clears his throat. “Hi, Tommy.”
Tommy crosses his arms as he sits beside him, an inspecting expression on his face. “What time did you go to bed last night?”
“Uhh, I did not go to bed last night.”

Techno being an idiot who denies his lack of taking breaks and Tommy being the responsible (and stressed) one for once.

The Egg is taking over the server. Dream is on the hunt for Tommy and will do anything to get to him, even kill Michael. Dream uses all the tools in his arsenal, from manipulation to murder to kidnapping to Enderwalkboo, all to capture the poor raccoon. Tommy knows he has to do something.
Hoping to end the conflict, he confronts the monster chasing him, only to face catastrophic failure from playing right into Dream's hands. In the face of this mistake, Tommy tries to make amends using an ancient secret, arming him with the will to topple the Eggpire. To protect his family from the fallout of his choice and the clutches of a homeless Teletubby, he hides Michael away. Once he’s sure the piglin is safe, he takes a final stand against the Egg.
