Work Text:
The birds are chirping, the sun is up in the sky, the breeze is blowing gently and the grass never looked so green.
Yes. It's the perfect weather to have a picnic!
"Food?"
"Check."
"Blanket?"
"Check."
"Drinks?"
"Check."
"How about the ones on your list?" Draco asked, eyebrow raised.
George unrolled a comically long list to check and grinned. Fred peeked into a separate duffle bag he's holding and nodded.
"Check!"
"Okay, fine. There's no point in stalling. Let's go already."
It's been a while since they've met and had a picnic for fun and bonding. Their days together were so rare that Fred and George treasure each interaction.
"Of course, before we go…" the Twins' voice trailed off and Draco turned to ask what's keeping them.
Poof!
Two flower bouquets appeared on Fred and George's hands and they offered it to the shocked Slytherin.
"Wow." Draco hummed, his pleased smile brightening up the day as he accepted the bouquets. "You're pulling all the stops today, huh."
"We just missed you!" Fred and George sang.
They walked over and sandwiched Draco in-between them, George slinging an arm around Draco's shoulder and Fred securing his arm around Draco's waist.
"Hence why you're being clingy." Draco deadpanned, already feeling warmth seeping into his skin. It was a blessing that it's the perfect weather or else he's going to peel himself off the space heaters.
They arrived at a clearing by the Forbidden Forest where the picturesque lake can still be seen. It wouldn't do well if Draco's classmates spotted them on a date! They're still keeping their relationship hush hush for now, for safety reasons.
George excitedly brandished his wand and set to work. He was the one who wanted the picnic, after all. The blankets, pillows and quilts were laid out, some stones pinning it on the ground. The wooden trays and boards placed properly on top as the food floated and arranged themselves.
Scones, apple pie slices, sandwiches and fruits looked appetising after they've been placed on the trays. Draco and Fred let out an amused hum.
"Looks delicious." Draco commented.
"Well then, shall we?" George offered, beaming as he gestured at the setup.
Fred conjured some rose petals to rain on them and was smart enough to put a shield charm on the food. "To make it a bit more romantic, for me!"
"Utterly ridiculous." Draco chuckled, accepting a plate of apple pie.
"All the best for you, darling." Fred and George grinned at Draco, genuinely and with affection.
What a wonderful way to spend the day, Draco thought. He'll have to think up something fun for the twins next time.
If anyone's going to ask how affectionate these two dorks are, the only answer he could say is:
Very.
