It’s just -he’s silly about Stede. Always has been, since their very first meeting at The Simon Lee Gallery.
He'd been such a fan -in fact, the kind who really lives up to it being short for “fanatic.” Although -hilariously, he hadn’t recognised Ed at first, but once he had, he’d pulled out an autograph book which was emblazoned with his initials.
In the year 2017. Ed had been doomed from the start, weak in the knees like a teenager.
And now -really, there’s nothing that could break them apart. Ed knows that. Never.
Still. Still.At the mention of the guy he’s nervous again. It’s something to do with the weird society he’s expecting to encounter at the event anyways, probably, and the fact that this is The Ex -the one and only- and that in Ed’s mind he’s like -a young Colin Firth, or something. These things are all just swirling together in his guts to make this horrible feeling he wants to shake so badly.
There’s nothing to do but face it head-on now.
