Work Text:

"The pancakes are burning." Wonwoo deadpans, still feeding Sunoo, who's dozing off, with the bottle.

Mingyu turns around, "Huh?", then screams as he's met with the sight of burnt pancakes. He rushes to the pan, and he may or may not have almost dropped a glass mug on his journey to The Pan, and thank God Seungcheol trespasses their home fast enough to catch the falling mug. "Hi, hyung!" Mingyu exclaims. His eyes aren't leaving the pancakes, though, to avoid repetition of past experiences.

Jeonghan walks in as well, little Jungwon running from behind. The toddler's eyes brighten when they catch sight of Sunoo, immediately running towards Wonwoo— or his leg, for that matter.

Jungwon tugs lightly at Wonwoo's trousers, looking up at him with his large eyes, dimples starting to show. The latter smiles back. "Sleeping." Wonwoo whispers, patting the kid's hair. Jungwon pouts, yet he sadly nods anyway. Making his way to Mingyu, he taps his knee, since his uncle has the height of a titan.

"Uncle! What are you making?" Mingyu hears a little voice as he looks down to see Jungwon now begging to be carried by Jeonghan, who was talking to his husband about furniture, to which the latter happily complies. The doe eyed boy suddenly reaches Mingyu's eye level with the boost of his papa's arms.

Mingyu laughs, and Seungcheol is too, watching as he plays with the fake plant on the table across from Wonwoo. "I'm making pancakes." The tallest says. Jeonghan seems to be shocked at that, eyes widening in surprise.

"Oh," He adjusts Jungwon in his arms, "Those were pancakes?"

Errands. Grocery shopping isn't all that ideal when you have two toddlers who are best friends and bundles of energy alongside you. The four of them have adapted to it, though. Having a system wherein two people = 1 kid, even if the two people aren't the kid's parents.

And that is until, Jeonghan decides to pay too much attention to the cherries, thinking if he should get some for Seungcheol. He was with Wonwoo this time, on duty of taking care of Jungwon. You may think, Oh! Jungwon is safe, then. Wonwoo can take care of him. But no, the Wonwoo in question was in the diaper aisle, leaving Jeonghan and his son alone.

"Hey, do you want to get some cherries for da–" Ha. Where the fuck is my kid? Jeonghan panics, anxiety messing with his stomach, freaking out when he turns back to see air when he expected to see his son.

Great timing. Wonwoo comes back to see an oh-so-scary sight of Yoon Jeonghan having a panic attack. "Did you lose him?" He asks, tone monotone as if he was expecting this; but there's still a hint of fear in his voice. Jeonghan nods, proceeding to speed walk around the grocery store. He made a promise to himself that whenever in time of panic and fear, do not run for you will trip. Why does that sound like a bible verse?

He hears a squeal behind a stack of cereal boxes, and he knows that squeal all too well. "Jungwonie!" He screams, running behind the tons of boxes. Finally, he finds what he's been looking for, a giggling little kid— a contrast to his father's very fragile state. Tears are held back as he picks his kid up into his arms, Wonwoo appearing from behind them. His phone is by his ear, probably calling to tell Mingyu what happened.

It's time for sleep now. Jungwon and Sunoo have a sleepover today, so it might be difficult managing the little devils since they're sharing a room.

It took a bit of work and a lullaby from Wonwoo to get them to settle down. They're literally double the amount and size of the children, why are they losing this? I shouldn't have fed them ice cream, Wonwoo thinks.

The four men eye the third, single bed— the sacrificial lamb's cushion. "Well, one of us has to go." Seungcheol mutters, volume low as the children are asleep.

Mingyu shakes his head, "Rock paper scissors it is, I guess."

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot."

Mingyu sighs, "Shit." I was born unfortunate.

"YES!" Jeonghan screams a bit too loud, waking the kids up once again. "Oops."

The other three scurry out of the room, as if they haven't left poor Mingyu in a space with 2 wailing kids.
