“Uh… Claire… don’t you think this is a bit… silly ?” Sam asked. The blonde ignored him and continued struggling with the full bucket, trying to get it balanced on top of the door. “What — what exactly was it this is payback for again?”
“I told you,” Claire huffed, tying off the trap and ensuring it was out of sight. “he had that cop arrest me on bogus public intoxication charges, then must have drugged me in my sleep, or something.”
“Ok look, Claire, Dean’s a prankster sure… but that — doesn’t it seem a bit—”
“What do you think I’m making it up?” Claire asked.
“No — I didn’t say that. It just seems… unlike the typical pranks Dean has done in the past. He’s more a Nair in the shampoo, itching powder in the clothes… you know?” Claire narrowed her eyes at Sam, and he sighed, putting his hands up in surrender. “Ok, ok, fine.”

“That was awesome !” Dean exclaimed, swiping the key to their room and opening the door for the others.
“Dean, it was a mediocre magic show, at best.” Sam sighed.
“Could you turn a playing card into a bird, Samuel?” Dean asks, raising an eyebrow. Sam rolled his eyes and turned his attention to Little Dean cooing in his stroller. “Didn’t think so. You liked it, right guys?” He asked the others. Jack, Claire, and Kaia muttered out monotone ‘Meh’ to Dean’s disappointment. “Oh come on!”
“Sorry, dude, it was pretty cheesy.” Claire said with a shrug, and Kaia nodded in agreement.
“The bird was clearly in a secret compartment of the hat; You could hear him breathing.” Jack added.
“
You
could hear his breathing,” Sam retorted with a smirk. “Everyone else has just seen the trick a million times. It’s a staple for magicians.”
Dean frowned at them and turned to Cas. “Well I suppose you didn’t like it either, then.” He pouted.
Despite what Cas actually thought of the confusing illusions the man performed on the stage, he looked his soon to be husband in the eye and… lied straight out of his ass. “It was the most – er – awesome show I have ever seen. Ever.” The others stared at Cas in confusion, but Dean smiled (even if he knew it was pure bullshit).
“ Kiss up. ” Claire whispered as the two walked by to their room. She couldn't help but smile as the two love birds entered the room – Cas first – then remembered the bucket over the door. “Cas wait!” She screamed, but it was too late.
Cas turned in the opened doorway and looked at her confused. “What is it, Claire?”
Claire – also confused – stared at him for a moment, looked up at the empty space above the door, then at Sam, who shrugged. “Oh – uh – n- nothing. It’s nothing. I – uh – I thought I saw a spider on your back.” She lied.
“Eeek.” Dean cringed. “Glad you didn’t, I hate spiders.”
“ Really? ” Claire asked, trying to hide her excitement.
Dean rolled his eyes and bid them all goodnight before shutting – and locking – their door.

“I swear, Claire, I didn’t move it.” Sam said, for the third time but Claire still didn’t believe him. “And I didn’t tell him about it either.” The man added for good measure.
“Hmph.” Claire pouted, crossing her arms.
“Oh, c’mon grumpy.” Kaia teased. “Let’s just go to bed and you can think of a new, dumb , prank tomorrow.”
“I already got one.” Claire smiled.
“Babe… do you forget you are also afraid of spiders?”
“Then I won’t let it get on me .” Claire replied. She turned the knob to their door and flung it open.
And everything turned red.
The door, the walls, the carpet… and more importantly, Claire.
Claire inhaled angrily and shrieked, causing Cas and Dean to run back out of their room. “I thought you said you put water in the bucket.” Sam exclaimed, hurrying to get her a towel.
“I did!” She hissed.
“What even is this?” He continued. “Blood?”
“It’s not blood.” Jack answered, a little too matter-of-factly. “It’s corn syrup, with red dye.”
Claire angrily scrubbed over her stained face. “Oh?! And how would you know that, Jack?”
“Uh – A lucky guess?” He laughed nervously, backing up as Claire stomped over to him.
“You’re helping him do this aren’t you!?”
“Helping who?” Dean asked, looking between the two, and Sam confused.
“Oh like you don’t know!” Claire groaned.
There was a spark from Claire and Kaia’s room before she could argue further, followed by a puff of smoke. “Oh what now!?” Claire looked into the room and saw the sticky red syrup had gotten into an outlet. Claire sucked her teeth and glared at – a still ‘ seemingly confused – Dean.
Spiders it is.
