Work Text:
All Sophie had ever wanted in her entire life was to leave Gavaldon and find her own story. Every choice she’d made once she finally made it to the school had been to finally achieve her destiny, to live her fairy tale.
But now everything was crumbling apart.
The friend she thought of as a sister didn’t trust her. The magic she’d unlocked inside her had become dark and twisted. In her attempt to get the boy she’d fallen in love with (was it love, or was it desperation because he was the most unobtainable man there), she’d destroyed her friendships with the students of her school.
Her kiss with Rafal was that last desperate chance she had to find what she wanted. But watching the schools crumble due to the Evil magic that Rafal controlled… That was it. That was when she knew she’d gone too far. Her friends were dying, her teachers, her best friend…
The only reason she didn’t collapse and cry was because she knew she had to do something. But what could she do? She wasn’t a hero. She wasn’t Good. She was just Sophie, lost and trapped in the darkness of her own making.
