“Since when did you like that?”
Cheeks full, Aether glanced up from his plate.
She pointed to his food. “When.”
“I—” He swallowed and licked his lips. “…Always have?”
Aether appeared in most memories—to be expected, as he was Lumine’s twin—but none showed him enjoying that dish. Quite the opposite, in fact.
“Lumine, are you…well?”
“…Yes.”
His stare turned cold. Calculating. Menacing.
She conjured a smile. “Just surprised that I forgot.”
His expression eased. “It happens.”
Nodding, she resumed eating. She’d contact the mothership later. Her host’s brother might be compromised.
Enemy invaders must be dealt with.
