“Would you still love me if I was a bug?”
“What kind of question is that?”
Amity turned to Luz and her quizzical eyebrows made the Dominican girl laugh.
“I was just thinking of a cute bug, you know like a grasshopper or a ladybug!”
“Grasshoppers are cute?”
“I find them cute.”
“Right.” Amity giggled. “And what am I supposed to be? Witch Amity or bug Amity?”
“Bug Amity! I would love to be with bug Amity!”
“Then, yes, I would still love you.”
“Awwwww... And if I was a rat?”
“Aren’t you already a rat?” Eda snorted from her armchair.
“Edaaaaaaa!!” Luz whined with an offended face.
“Of course, I would still love you, Amorcita.”
Luz blushed and kissed Amity’s cheek. But the cotton candy haired girl wasn’t quite satisfied with it and went for Luz’s lips, which the brunette responded with passion.
“Ugh, your gayness is making me sick.” Eda grumbled.
Luz didn’t reply and put her arm around Amity’s neck. The soft sound of their kisses was just like music in her ears, and she was intoxicated with that. Addicted to Amity’s love, to Amity’s lips, to Amity’s skin, to Amity’s hair, to Amity’s perfume. This was her everything. Amity was her everything.
“Geez, kiddo, let her breathe.”
The two teenagers split their lips, with red on their cheeks and a stupid grin on their face.
“And what if I was ugly?”
“But you’re not, Amorcita, you’re beautiful and I love you so much.”
“Awwwww.” Luz cooed.
“Get a room, you two.”
“Edaaaa! Go to your room if you aren’t happy!” Luz groaned.
“No thanks, it’s still my house.”
“No, you know what Luz, let’s go upstairs, leave the old owl on her own.”
“I’m perfectly fine on my own!!”
“As you want Batata, I’ll follow.”
Amity pecked Luz’s nose and they got up on their feet and left the living-room of the Owl House.
“You guys aren’t cute! I was gay before you!”
“Looks like someone has something to prove.” King scoffed.
“No… No at all… Shut up.”
King rolled his eyes and curled up on himself.
“Whatever.” He sighed.
Upstairs, Luz and Amity were on the human’s bed. Luz was laying down on the sheets while Amity had her head on her shoulder. They weren’t talking that much, they just let silence speak for them. Love and tenderness filled the room and they felt at ease, enjoying each other’s presence.
“And what if I was you?”
“And who would I be?”
“Me.”
“I would be you?”
“Yes.”
“So, I would be Luz Noceda, the cute human, with gorgeous eyes, two chaotic moms, an unstable brother and an ultra-cute sister?”
“Well… when you put it that way…”
“I mean, I could be you. But I really prefer to be me.”
“Why?”
“Because I met you, Luz.”
Amity sat up and locked her eyes in Luz’s.
“Because I met you and I wouldn’t change this for nothing in the whole world. And I would rather be me. Because that means I can look at you every day and be with you every night.”
“What’s the matter, Blight? Going soft on me?”
“You wish, Noceda… In your dreams.”
“Well… In my dreams I would kiss a cotton candy haired goddess…”
“Yeah?” Amity leaned on closer to Luz’s face.
“Yeah…” Luz’s voice was just a mere breath.
Amity caressed her lover’s cheek with her thumb and close the gap between their faces. She lovingly looked at Luz and closed her eyes when her sweet girlfriend kissed her back. There was nothing better in the world than Luz’s lips, and Amity didn’t want to find something else. Because she loved her, oh so much. Whatever she was. As long as she was at her sides. That was just a normal day for the two lovebirds. Amity didn’t mind. She wanted life to be filled with days like this, days with Luz, her awesome and beautiful girlfriend.
