~ Pumpkin Friends ~
Trucy and Athena were in charge of carving the jack-o-lanterns that would be put on the steps in front of the Wright Anything Agency for Halloween.
"Don't look!" Trucy said and pulled a stage backdrop through the middle of the pumpkin-carving station. (AKA a tarp she put down on the floor to keep pumpkin guts off the carpet.)
"No peeking until they're finished," Athena agreed with an enthusiastic nod.
Both of them plopped their pumpkins down on the tarp and got to work.
Slightly more than an hour had passed by the time Trucy called out, "Ready?"
"Ready!" Athena replied.
Trucy removed the backdrop from the pumpkin-carving station with a dramatic flourish.
"Ta-da! It's your favorite special little guy!" she said, turning her jack-o-lantern around slowly to show off the four different faces she'd carved into it, which looked just like Widget's expressions.
A blush rose to Athena's cheeks as she turned her jack-o-lantern around so that Trucy could see its face.
"It looks like we had similar ideas," she said.
Athena had carved Mr. Hat's face into her pumpkin. Trucy was delighted with Mr. Pumpkin Hat.
"Well, you know what they say: great minds think alike!"
