Work Text:
It wasn’t often that Ritsu fussed about things, let alone at his daycare, but today seemed to be something of an off day for him, as he was now sitting in timeout during recess for pushing another kid. Honestly, he thought he had done nothing wrong, the push was for a reason, but the daycare worker, a blonde man who looked way too sickly to be there, said his behavior was unacceptable.
He was simply trying to climb up the playground to where the slide was, but whenever he tried getting up, a taller girl with shorthair kept blocking his way. He’d talked with this girl before, she was friends with Mika, but he never actually managed to remeber her name, it yet at least. Anyway, as the girl blocked his path, Ritsu tried getting up through another way, though it seemed useless since she would always catch up and block that entrance too.
“Im trying to get to slide..” he mumbled, clearly annoyed at this point. The girl finally spoke to him “no, no, baby flutter shy, you can’t come up here!”
what.
He never agreed to play ponies with her, let alone take the role of that one. He was beginning to get even more annoyed, “no. I dont wan’a play with you” surely after making it clear that he wasn’t playing, she would let him through. Well, he was wrong. She continued to block his path, which quickly caused a bubbling feeling of anger to rise up in the little boy, and before he even had a chance to consider consequences, he pushed her. It didn’t do much, considering the fact that he was smaller than the girl, she barely budged, but tears still spilled out of her eyes like little waterfalls before she hurried away, most likely to one of the caretakers.
At this moment, Ritsu realized he might get in trouble and quickly went off to hide in the tube slide. Not even 2 minutes passed before he was found and told to go sit on the time out bench for the remainder of their outside time, which in reality wasn’t for much longer, but to him it felt like eternity.
“Hey..” a soft voice called from next to him, to which Ritsu turned to see the girl, her tears now completely gone “I’m Arashi”
The black haired boy grumble, still upset “I’m Ritsu… um.. sorry for pushing you” he truly did feel a little bad after having the kid come up and talk to him.
She didn’t even seem too upset about it anymore “that’s okay! Lets be friends, Ritsu-chan! You can play with me and Mika-chan.” Well. That was surprising. Out of all things, he wasn’t expecting her to suggest a friendship, not that he minded though.
“Okay.. but Im- I cant play with you today. Cause- cause I got time out. But tomorrow I can play!” A small smile formed on his face. Despite the bumps at the start, he had made a new friend.
And so, they made an agreement to play with each other the next day (along with Mika, of course)
