Chapter Text

As the golden wolf stalked closer all Aiden could think was how did she find us? I made sure to cover my tracks. I didn't even tell my friends where I'd be moving to hide from her. The wolf put his jaws around the exhausted witch’s throat. I'm just glad I had enough energy left to send the kids away. Hopefully I sent them near a city in Terranevo that Lumine knows. And as the wolf bit down on his neck his last thought before passing out was 'I hope they're safe now'.

   Silver was panicking trying to find everyone who was injured in the attack. Off the side of the road where the kids ran off to he found a trail of blood and could only hope it wasn't lumine’s or Kody's. He wouldn't know what to do if he found one of the two dead. One of the others with him found Sherry and right behind Sherry in a bloody clearing was
Aiden with blood flowing from his neck like it was trying to escape.

"Aiden!"

   Silver immediately called over a paramedic in order to try and save his usually carefree boss. it was difficult to get him to the ambulance since he was so far into the forest but we managed. The paramedics were shouting things left and right, none of which I understood but tried my best to anyway. The ride to the hospital wasn't much better and they almost lost Aiden a couple times there. The trip itself couldn't have been more than ten or so minutes at most, but since I was watching Aiden the whole time it felt like eternity.

   When we finally got there I obviously wasn't allowed to go back with them, but this gave me time to think over what just happened. Aiden's former wife, who I can only think is the worst person on earth after this, tried to get Kody back by killing anyone in her way. But she didn't even do her own dirty work, she sent a werewolf, where did she even find one?!? We only found out lumine was one by pure accident. He couldn't even think about that anymore. Right now what's needed is to take stock of the health of Neptune's members. I know some died but I gotta know who's left because I know Aiden's gonna ask when he wakes up.

   And so Silver got to work.

Chapter Text

Waking up in a hospital is not what Aiden expected, in fact he expected to see the pearly gates not a sterile room and a comfy bed. Looking over he could see Silver sleeping in a nearby chair, and as much as Aiden wanted to scare him, he didn't think his voice would go that loud right now.

"Silver" nothing

"Silllverrr" still nothing

Since calling him out wasn't working I looked around for things to throw at him instead, lo and behold, the TV remote. Aiming right at his head, bullseye.

"Ah! What?..." Silver looked round to see what wake him up and saw Aiden staring right at him.

"Aiden! You're awake!"
"Really I couldn't tell, now what happened how am I alive right now?"

So Silver told Aiden everything that happed while he was unconscious, from the end of the fight to right now.

"We lost ten people in the attack, heck it’s a miracle you and Sherry lived. The both of you nearly died just getting here."
" How long have I been out?"
"A week and a half"

Just then the doctor walked in and saw Aiden awake. He checked on him and gave them a list of his injuries, the one that nearly killed him was the wound on his neck. He changed the bandages while he was there and Silver was able to see just how bad the bite wound from the werewolf was. While it was scabbed over it was an angry red and Aiden was wincing through the whole process. After the bandages were fresh, the doctor left telling him to rest but was allowed to see some friends if he wanted.

"Call in those on the team who are here, I may be injured but we can still start the search for getting the kids back."
" You know where they are?!"
" I have an idea yes, I sent them away with a teleportation spell "
" Well then where are they?"
"I sent them where lumine grew up, Terranevo.”

Chapter Text

~ timeskip 1 month ~
No matter how hard they searched they couldn't find them. They contacted every connection they had and searched through a plethora of websites day in and day out, yet they found nothing. It was only when they got the final letters back from two of Aiden's childhood friends that they found them.

‘Aiden on my gosh we thought you were dead. Yes we know where Kody is although there's a lot we have to talk about that I can't fit all in one letter. Go to xxxxx in terranevo me and Roy will meet you there.’

"Sherry! Silver! We’ve found them I know where they are!"
"What how?! Were been searching for a month now how did you find them?"
"Rowan and Roy's letter finally got here, they’re with them from the sounds of it."
"Well then let’s go them, why are we still here?"

It took about three days for them to get where Rowan told them to go. They arrived at a brick house in a friendly enough town, and knocked on the door but didn't expect an unfamiliar witch to open the door.

"Who are you and why are you here?"

Before Aiden could say anything Roy with Roman close behind came tackling him to the ground shouting how happy they were to see him. As the three got off the front stoop of the witches home she invited them in as the two 'dofuses' apparently knew them. Once they got settled inside the witch, who introduced herself as Camille, asked why they were here again.

"We came here to find Kody, and Rowan said I'd be able to find him here."
"And why are you looking for Kody?" Camille said suspiciously
"I'm his dad and- " before he could finish she exploded on Rowan
"Why would you tell him where Kody is! We just saved him from his mother a month ago! What makes you think his father is any better?"
“She got him?!” Aiden said to which caused the three of them to start panicking. Seeing this Camilla realized that maybe Aiden actually cared about Kody unlike his mother.
“Yes but he’s fine now. She’s dead, killed by her own henchman.”
“Slave is more like it” Roy piped in
“But before I let you see him I gotta ask, why on earth haven’t we seen you until now? Him and Lumine were wandering aimlessly trying to find his aunt until me and Sera found them and helped Kody get rid of that spirit.”
“We lived in our house in Solefor until the golden wolf attacked us trying to get Kody. Right before passing out I sent them here, where Lumine said he grew up hoping they’d find help. Seems like they did”
“Yeah well they found a lotta trouble first that’s for sure” a voice said from deeper in the house 
“Names Sera, I’m friends with Camilla. Those two rascals got into all kinds of problems.” Silver laughed and added
“Yeah they’re trouble magnets for sure. But where’s Kody Rowan, you said we’d find him here?”
“He’s out getting some groceries right now, trying to get better at his Terranevian.”

They five talked for a bit about the kids waiting for Kody to get back when they heard the front door open. Aiden eager to see his son again ran to the door. Kody thought it would just be like any other day but the second he looked up and saw his dad his eyes welled with tears.

“Dad?” 
“Hey kid”

Kody rushed forward to hug the person he thought he’d never see again. And in that moment he felt warm, tightly embraced in his father’s arms.
