Chapter Text
(Instrumental opening)
First shot shows Pyrrha getting up on a field, still in her Remnant outfit, clutching her right shoulder and looking wounded before the three Legendary Birds of Kanto fly past her with a mysterious giant silver bird between them (Lugia).
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was.
We now see Pyrrha, now in a casual outfit, and Ash looking up at a light as they’re standing back to back in a giant empty stadium as they’re surrounded by people shrouded in darkness (the Gym Leaders).
To catch them is my real test.
Ash’s Pikachu and Pyrrha’s Eevee are introduced as they jump on their trainers’ shoulders. Ash catches Bulbasaur and Pyrrha catches Magnemite.
To train them is my cause.
The pair are shown battling against Lt Surge with Pikachu and Magnemite.
I will travel across the land. Searching far and wide.
Pyrrha is shown riding her Pontya and Ash on one of his Tauros while surrounded by the likes of Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Arcanine, Ninetales, Rhyhorn, Dodrio, the three Kanto Eeveelutions and Exeggutor. The pair then noticed Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres flying high in the sky before they descended and flew past them.
Teach Pokémon to understand. The power that's inside!
Ash and Pyrrha were fishing on a riverbed before Ash catches something and it turns out to be a wild Gyarados. The Atrocious Pokémon roars at the pair who with their partners battle it with Pikachu and Magnemite, Eevee helping with Helping Hand, before Pyrrha throws a Poké Ball and successfully catches it.
Pokémon (Gotta catch 'em all), it's you and me. I know it's my destiny (Pokémon!)
Ash is shown battling the Gym Leader Koga and his Golbat with Charmander, Golbat faints and Ash and Charmander high five each other with victory. Pyrrha is shown cheering for him in the background with Eevee.
Oh, you're my best friend. In a world we must defend!
Misty and Brock are shown for the first time, joining the group with a wink and a thumbs up.
We then see the iconic Team Rocket Trio with Ekans and Koffing and an unknown pink haired girl accompanying them with a Farfetch’d and Chansey, then we see Giovanni in his chair with Persian before finally seeing an unknown armored Pokémon who’s blue eyes glowed past its mask.
Pokémon (Gotta catch 'em all), a heart so true!
Eevee and Pikachu run past Ash and Pyrrha before jumping in the direction of a bright light that is revealed to be Mew
Our courage will pull us through! You teach me, and I'll teach you!
Ash, Pyrrha, Brock and Misty find themselves facing the unknown Pokémon from before with Pikachu, Eevee, Starmie and Onix. Pikachu and Eevee turn to their trainers, looking unsure before getting determined and encouraging looks from them which gives them confidence and they turn back to face the Pokémon who’s eyes glowed blue again.
Po-ké-mon!
Ash and Pyrrha ordered their attacks, Pikachu used Thunderbolt and Eevee used Swift which fired at the Pokémon, causing a large explosion.
(Gotta catch 'em all!) Gotta catch 'em all!
Many of the iconic characters of the show assemble around the main group including the Gym Leaders, Professor Oak, Delia, Officer Jenny, Nurse Joy, the Team Rocket Trio and their new accomplice, Giovanni and many others. They all looked at the camera before Mew appears, Ash and Pyrrha both throw a Poké Ball at it which it playfully avoids before the Poké Balls transition into the iconic logo
