Chapter Text
Izuku Midoriya’s life had practically fallen apart, not all at once but it certainly had. Maybe, if he hadn’t been so useless (in his own eyes..and likely in everyone else’s aswell) this wouldn’t have happened, but who knows.
As you know, the greenette had been diagnosed as quirkless at the age of five, that was the start of his downfall. His whole world came crashing down after that day, nothing would ever be the same for Izuku. His dreams, his hopes for his future..all shattered in a few moments. And Whether it was his friendships or his relationship with his mother, everything changed. In his adult years he couldn’t help but feel that the world had betrayed him, he was bitter. Soon enough he descended into a very unhealthy lifestyle, one that most people who once knew him would have never suspected from the once so sweet and loving boy. For the most part izuku had tried to disappear, slowly at first. His mother, obviously concerned for him, called him every week. She was relentless in trying to get izuku to be the happy boy he once was.
Inko would look forward to talking to her son every once a week. Ever since his….diagnosis.. the boy had not been very cheerful, she noticed this very quickly. He was very closed off from that point (the diagnosis) on and did not tell her about his more personal life things. Some part of Inko wondered if that was just her little boy growing up and getting some much needed independence… but as he got older it was obvious why the boy was so closed off. Continuous marks covering the boys bruised body practically renewed every week, some worse than others. She had tried to help Izuku, call the school and set things right..even if she knew Izuku didn’t want her to. But it hadn’t worked, it never did. So the least she could do for him was treat his wounds and hope that he would get through this. And he did get through it, however, now that the once so innocent boy was an adult he purposefully lost contact with his mother. Although, guilt piled in his gut, knowing he was wrong for leaving her out of nowhere..… he couldn’t chance her stopping by his house and seeing what he had been doing. Paranoia ate him up every waking moment. Would she walk into his living room without warning and accidentally see him shooting up? What would she do? He decidedly didn’t want that. So he gathered up his things and moved without warning. His next place was a bit more run down, nothing he couldn’t handle.. Although it wasn’t on the best side of town. But, hey, at least there were bars nearby!

It had now been many many months since the boy had even talked to his mother, although, her number still tried to contact him from time to time with no avail. He spent most of his free time at a bar run by pretty shady people, but it provided temporary shelter and all the drugs he could possibly want. His dealer, a dark-haired man with meticulous scars running along his face, was normally there— along with his many friends it seemed. Izuku had met the dark-haired man in an alley one day when he was on his way to work. Izuku had been having a particularly bad day, especially considering he had run into Katsuki Bakugo, a man who still sneered and uttered insults at the sight of the ‘quirkless wannabe’. On his way to work he cut through an alley that was practically a short cut to his work, suddenly a dark-haired man was infront of him and put his arm out to block izuku’s path. “What’s up sweetheart. y’ need somethin’ ?”
The man smelled like black coffee and something spice-like.. his voice was deep and gravely. “W-W…what-! Uh…mm.. n-no.. T-thanks though!” Izuku says awkwardly.
“Awww what~…. you just like walking into creepy alleys for fun? mh— no, no, no. i’ve had sweet boys like you come into here before..you just need some convincing, don’t you? Just try it.” Izuku’s heart was beating out of his chest.. what was this man so insistent on?...Izuku doesn’t have time for this he needs to be getting to work. “I—…” Izuku utters.. as the man pulls something out of his pocket..a small looking pipe, nothing that izuku had ever seen before. Izuku’s eyes went wide. ‘What the hell! what the hell!?… oh god this is so illegal’ izuku thought, the panic was definitely very evident on his face. “So scared aren’t you?” The man said with a sly grin on his face before quickly using his quirk, which brought a bright flame to one of his fingertips in order to be used as a lighter. “I…c-cant…i m-mean— i shouldn’t.. do that! a-and i have to get to work.” Izuku utters and tries to push past the man. “Just real quick, one hit! i can tell you’re going through somethin’” The man looks him up and down. Sweat beaded on izuku’s brow, he wondered how he would get past this guy if he didn’t want to engage in this.
Long story short….Izuku had given in, though he promised himself he wouldn’t get addicted. The promise was short lived..as the feeling he got from the drug combined with the craving piqued him to buy his own, and soon enough he was spiraling. At first it didn’t seem so bad..he was just less hungry than usual and much more energized, but after some time things changed. He began being paranoid, his stress level felt like it was at an all time high, and he was starting to lose weight. He had tried to cut the habit right when he noticed the spiral but..after trying for a few days it all became to much and he gave in again. Izuku couldn’t help but loathe. his mother would be incredibly disappointed, he was in over his head and it was his own fault. After weeks of dealing with the paranoia izuku knew he had to move out and go somewhere else, he didn’t want his mother to see him like this. So izuku moved to somewhere close to where his dealer works. Izuku was usually at his dealers work sitting in a ‘reserved booth’ in the corner.

Katsuki Bakugo was now in his second year of U.A. He was still the loud boisterous boy he had always been, just now he was surrounded by a ton of new relatively kind classmates. These classmates loved to hang out a lot, and travel to new stores or restaurants..normally Katsuki would try his best to stay in the dorms and get his much needed sleep but when Todoroki started acting particularly shady about where he was heading his interest was piqued. So,of course, like the naive hero-student he was he followed him…to a shady bar on the old run down side of town.
