Work Text:
Saiki in all honesty didn't really care for holidays, sure he could understand why people like them, but overall he didn't get it himself. Valentine's day was just a way for cooperation's to make money based off of people's love for each other, white day was the guilt that anyone who received gifts on Valentine's day had to bare, St Patrick's day wasn't celebrated in Japan, April fool's day was a nuisance at best, and Christmas was such a headache after you turned 15 that it wasn't worth it anymore. Then of course there was all the smaller holidays to keep in mind, but he didn't care enough about them to keep track. That being said, there was one holiday that even he could appreciate.
In the past there had been a time where Halloween wasn't widely celebrated throughout the world, but that was the past. In present time people are very aware of the existence of monsters of all kinds: vampires, werewolves, yokai etc etc. Humans found the best way to avoid a gruesome death was to make the monsters less scary, and the best way to do that was to teach each other all about monsters. There was of course the people who still felt that simply hunting the monsters to extinction would be easier, but that idea was quickly dismissed at how quickly people saw monsters could reproduce. Be it by child bearing or turning humans into monsters there was no way that humans could beat them, so now there was Halloween.
That was the one time of year that monsters were allowed to go crazy. . . In moderation. Letting people find out that you were a monster would still usually result in death, but sucking blood, taking souls, biting people, cursing mortals, it was all more accepted on Halloween. Hence why if he had to pick he would always say Halloween. Even if it was only because he could feast.
'Feast is a harsh word, I just eat.'
He just happened to eat blood, but that's why the week before Halloween he could practically feel everyone's excitement.
"Saiki! Aren't you excited?! There's only a few more days until Halloween, I can't wait." Saiki's eyes met baby blue hair and red bandages. Kaidou, like him, was a vampire. His spiels about being an all powerful being were true, but nobody ever took him seriously making his secret safe. Saiki knew he was a vampire for the same reason he knew who all the other monsters were, their blood smelled awful.
Saiki just blinked at him.
"Come on Saiki, I know you're at least a little excited," he dropped his voice to a whisper before continuing "I mean it's so easy to eat on Halloween."
Involuntarily his ear twitched as the smaller boy whispered to him. Saiki settled the smaller boy with an unamused stare before looking at purple haired bespectacled boy who just entered the classroom.
Kaidou blushed. "Me and Aren— I mean it's not, you don't—"
Saiki's eyes glanced at Aren's neck where two bite makes were still clearly visible.
Though vampires had to steal blood from mortals in order to survive, nobody would ever have guessed blushing was an extraordinary effort for vampires based on Kaidou.
Kaidou tried desperately to will the blush from his face, eventually covering his face with bandage hands.
"He offered, and we're sworn friends. . . So it's different." He muttered through his hands.
"Hey Saiki! Hi Shun."
Kaidou yelped as the topic of their conversation had appeared next to him.
Saiki nodded as was his typical hello. Shun stuttered out a greeting as well.
"What were you guys talking about?" Aren asked looking at Shun, knowing Saiki wouldn't respond to the question.
"Halloween!" Everyone looked at Kaidou's sudden screech, which resulted in him ducking behind Aren to hide his embarrassment. Saiki gave a quiet snicker.
"It's okay dude, no is looking anymore." Aren reassured trying to get him to stop hiding behind him. "No one is even going to—" but before Aren could finish his comment the 3 teens heard laughing.
"HAHAHAHA what was that squirt? 'Halloween!' hahaha and your voice cracked too! That was great." Nendou was gripping his stomach in his laughter.
"Shut up Nendou! It wasn't that funny."
"Yeah it was! It was all squeaky and high, I thought it was a little girl screaming like that before I realized it was you. You think it was funny too, right buddy?"
Saiki didn't respond to Nendou's question.
"Come on man," Aren tried to reason "it wasn't That funny. Plus he's obviously not happy about it, lay off okay?"
Nendou frowned before looking at Kaidou. Sharp nails were digging into bandaged hands as Kaidou looked out the window trying to hide his sniffles.
"Woah hey, sorry squirt, I didn't mean to make you cry."
"I'm not c-crying!" Kaidou sputtered.
"Yeah of course," Aren started "It's just really dusty in here."
"Huh? No its— OW!"
Saiki kicked the tall boy in his shin from his spot in his chair.
"Anyway," Aren ignored Nendou "Why were you guys talking about Halloween? It's still a few days away."
"We were talking about what we were going to dress up as." Kaidou lied.
"Oooh! I'm going to go as a dead biker." Aren smiled, proceeding to go into a long winded explanation of how he was going to do so.
Nendou was going to be a mad scientist, Kaidou was going to be a mummy, and Hairo was going to be a zombie. Wait. . .
Saiki's eyes snapped to Hairo. "Hi guys!"
"Yo dude, when did you get here?" Aren asked after his greeting.
Kaidou and Saiki shivered at their friends—
'Acquaintance.'
Friend and acquaintances sudden appearance. Hairo was a werewolf, and while the stories of vampires and werewolves not getting along wasn't true, it wasn't exactly false. Werewolves we're some of the few monsters that could sneak up on vampires, and vampires tended not to like that.
"You're going to be a zombie? But you always go as some kinda dog." Nendou asked puzzled.
Hairo gave an airy laugh, but the two vampires heard the spike in heart rate. Nervousness was oozing off of him. "Oh well, you know, I wanted to change it up. Wolves are so easy, because um everyone does them! Yeah, so I wanted to try something that would get me all fired up!"
"I get that. It's fun to go outside of what you normally do." Aren nodded in understanding.
"What are you going to be Saiki?"
Saiki glared at Hairo annoyed he was trying to take the attention off of himself and put it onto him. Saiki sighed realizing there was no way to get the 4 sets of eyes off of him. He thought about it for a moment before deciding it would be easier to lie.
He shrugged.
"You don't know! But you only have 7 days, you have to figure it out like, last week!"
Hairo and Aren nodded their agreement while Nendou gave multiple suggestions. For the rest of the week the 4 pestered him about his costume.
Until Friday.
"Attention, attention you plebians. Your king is making an announcement."
Everyone ignored Saiko.
Tadashi yelled. "SHUT UP!"
Everyone went quiet.
"Thank you. Now as I was saying. I will be throwing a party on Halloween. Everyone is to come unless you are a monster—"
Saiki heard all the known monsters in the room give a quiet groan.
"And if I give you a personal invitation you are to treat it like gold, no, better than gold. You are to treat it like diamonds! If you don't, I will be forced to assume that you are secretly a monster in a human skin suit."
The groans became more audible.
"That is all, I look forward to seeing everyone's costumes, they should be worthy for the eyes of a King!"
Saiki really hated Saiko sometimes. Tadashi and his friends proceeded to spread where the party was going to be by word of mouth, while Saiko gave out his 'diamond' invitations.
"Here glasses peasant," Saiki looked up "your invitation. Don't loose it."
'Its just a normal invitation what's the, oh' As Saiki took the Invitation from Saikio's hand he was surprised to find the invitation was lined with Real diamonds. 'Huh. . . I wonder how much coffee jelly I could get with this.'
Saiko had already left by the time Saiki looked up again. He slumped in his chair.
'Well now I have to get a costume.'
-
Before he could even relax into the weekend Monday had come, meaning Halloween had finally arrived. The buzz of excitement made it impossible for anyone to focus and eventually the teachers gave up. Most classes turned into study halls. By the end of the day students were clamoring out of the school to get home and get ready for the big evening.
Saiki walked out the school slowly long after everyone else had left. He did have to get home to change into his suddenly very intricate vampire costume, but he was feeling a lot more lethargic than usual.
"Hi Saiki!" Kokomi greeted warmly.
Kokomi Teruhashi, the angel of P.K. Academy. She was nice to everyone but supposedly only had a few friends. Saiki wasn't really aware of the few friends bit considering she allowed herself to associate with Hario, Nendou, Aren, and Kaidou, not to mention Yumehara and Mera. Aiura was in there somewhere too. Saiki didn't mind her, she didn't bother him as long as he gave her a nod. Recently though she started to vent to him without his prompting, from what he could gather she was stressed almost all the time. He had to catch her from fainting once or twice and whenever they happened across each other she always seemed to get happier.
"Are you excited for Halloween?" She asked walking in front of him.
He slowed his pace further so they wouldn't run into each other. He shrugged in response.
"Hmm yeah I get that. It's exciting but also a little annoying because of how excited everyone else is, right?"
He nodded. He also didn't mind her because he never had to try to explain himself.
"Well at least it's fun to get free candy, right?"
He nodded.
"Oh yeah! Speaking of, I figured you were a chocolate kind of guy, so here." She held out a chocolate bar and his eyes widened.
Now on a technicality vampires really only ate blood, they could eat human food but it didn't give them any satisfaction. That being said, Saiki had a sweet tooth, and he wasn't afraid to admit it. He took it smiling before schooling his expression back to neutral.
Teruhashi giggled "I knew you had a sweet tooth." She spun around facing forward again, but still walked in front of him. "I guess I'll see you at the Halloween party." She smiled, and unlike at school it reached her eyes.

When Saiki arrived at Saiko's mansion he was almost overwhelmed with all the different smells. There was definitely a fair amount of people who were wearing garlic, silver, holy water, and other such things to ward off monsters. The amount of ofuda was almost painful. Not to mention the bodyguards at the front who were testing all kinds of ways to make sure people weren't monsters. Saiki was worried about the real silver when the bodyguard saw his invitation.
"Master Saiki, welcome. The Saiko family would like to personally welcome you."
. . . 'What?'
Saiki entered without concern and was still confused on why he wasn't checked to be some kind of monster at the front. He continued around the party to see witches, only two real ones, vampires, 3 real ones, werewolves, 1 real one, and some yokai here and there. He didn't bother counting how many yokai managed to slip past because he knew how sneaky they could be, that and depending on the yokai their pain tolerance could be through the roof.
As Saiki continued to float around the giant ballroom he counted how many people were entering the room. They were already at 50 and he wondered how much higher they could get. Eventually he was forced to push the count to the back of his mind as he felt an arm grip onto him.
"Saiki! Vampire costume, a little on the nose but still a classic hun!"
'Aiura then.'
"As you can see I'm a 9 tailed fox," she leaned into his ear and he shivered. "Can you tell which one is real?" He glanced at her tails and easily pointed at the one that was filled with blood.
Aiura giggled "Correct! But we already knew that. Try not to be a wallflower for the rest of the night, kay? It Halloween! Make sure to have some fun." She accented the word with a quick change in her eyes. Green eyes going orange with slits.
Saiki watched as she skipped away mingling with others while stealing their shiny things.
Once the clock broke 7 he silently walked over to the punch. It was supposedly "blood", but he could smell the difference before he even reached the bowl. Still, he poured himself a cup and was only jostled slightly when the giant oaf of a boy jumped on him.
"Buddy! You're costume is almost so good I didn't recognize you."
Saiki looked up at Nendou, mildly surprised at how good his costume looked.
"My costume's great huh? I had to learn how to get good with make-up for my past job, they still fired me for some reason. How was I supposed to know some people were allergic to certain makeup?"
'Did you send people to the hospital?'
"Nendou! There you are, you ran off so fast I — oh, Saiki! Hi. Woah! Your costume is awesome."
He nodded a thanks.
"Me and buddy here were talking about how I was wrongly fired from my last job. It was crazy, just cause her face got all puffy. . ."
Saiki tuned out Frankenstein and his monster, easily slipping away when he was no longer interested in maintaining a conversation. Just as he was about to make his way back to the wall he had been at someone else reached his senses.
"Oh look Aren, there's Saiki!" He heard the two before he saw them. He didn't stop walking towards the wall, deciding he'd let them reach him.
"AAAAGH! YOU FOOL! Look what you've done to my beautiful arm, how could you be so senseless as to scratch it?! Security!" In seconds bodyguards we're at Saiko's side. "Remove this plebian from my sight! He is banned! Forever!"
As the boy was dragged out of the room the rest of the guests went still. 3 vampires were already here, not counting himself or Kaidou. Saiki found them all and urged them outside. When he circled back he saw the thin thread Kaidou was holding on by.
"Shun? Hey, come on. Shun snap out of it."
"Kaidou," Aren's eyes snapped to Saiki who was standing right in front of the smaller boy. "Outside, now."
Bleary and labored breathing was met with a nod and Kaidou trudged his feet toward the balcony.
"Wow Saiki, thank I—" Aren gasped as he looked at the boy in front of him.
Saiki furrowed his eyebrows before realizing his vision was shaper than it should have been.
"You're a—"
Shaking his head red eyes went back to purple and he swiftly left Aren's side to deal with the situation.
Saiko was still clutching his arm trying to stop the bleeding as other continued to look on. Saiki grabbed his shoulder and Saiko nearly jumped out his skin.
"Oh, glasses peasant, it's you."
Saiki pointed to a dimly lit hallway that would lead away from the mass amount of people.
"Hmph, I suppose you're right. Letting all these people see my marred body is unbefitting of a King such as myself. Even idiots have good ideas sometimes."
'Why am I helping him again?'
Applying more pressure than was probably necessary to his arm, Saiki helped the platinum blonde out of the ballroom.
"This is far enough, the bathroom is around the corner. It's a good thing no monster's are here. I made sure of it with my excellent sense of self. But I suppose as a human you already knew that. Anyway, I shall have one of my maids help with the wound." Saiko pulled his arm out the vampires grip. "Well? You're no longer needed. Shoo shoo."
Saiko continued down the hallway using the wall as support. Saiki groaned and rolled his eyes. Leisurely he made his way back to the ballroom.
'That explains the entrance I guess. I should leave soon though. I still need to eat and. . . And,'
He looked down at the hand that had been holding Saiko's arm and he felt his fangs protrude. Carefully he brought his bloodied hand to his nose and sniffed. Loudly he heard his stomach growl and quickly he licked the blood that was on it off. He fell towards the wall as his hunger reached a peak.
'When's the last time I've eaten? His blood isn't even that good. It was sour and way too rich for my liking. Coffee jelly would never do this to me.'
He felt his breathing increase exponentially and suddenly his world was spinning. He needed blood, an he needed it now.
-
The world was quiet. For a moment he didn't hear anything, smell anything or feel anything. And then he heard warmth.
'. . .?'
Bleary eyes met a halo and for a moment he was certain he died.
"Iki—" he blinked to regain his vision. "Sa—" he clutched his hair and put a hand on the wall behind him. "Saiki!" Vision settling he looked at the girl in front of him. "Oh my gosh, are you okay? What are you doing on the floor." She tried to pull him to his feet, and it took more effort than he would have liked to stand.
"You're so pale, let's get you some water." Teruhashi forced him to lean on her, but he pulled away. "What, Saiki. What are you doing?"
He shook his head standing on his own two feet as a way of showing he was fine.
Teruhashi pouted. "Are you sure?" She asked hesitantly.
He nodded.
Teruhashi worried her bottom lip between her teeth before sighing. She looked back out at the party, and then to the pale boy in front of him. Looking at his costume she was astonished.
He was wearing a dark red overcoat the covered a cream colored shirt. Both the neck line and the sleeves were flared out with lace, strings that were tie-able hanging from the neck. On his left hand there was a black leather glove, while his right remained barren. Upon further inspection she found skulls lining the edges of the red overcoat. Black slacks met tennis shoes, and as she stepped closer she found that even his ears were pointed.
Saiki's eyes widened and he tried to pull back at the girl getting so close to her face, but was only met with a wall.
Gently she reached out a brushed a finger over the pointed tip. "It's so lifelike." She breathed out.
Saiki shivered at the touch to his ears. Earlier in the night they had been fake, but now they were real, the blood he had consumed taking his toll. He glanced down at Teruhashi and was met with her neck. Since she was so focused on his ears it left her neck exposed. He could hear the blood pumping in her veins and he felt his fangs protrude to their full length. Nails dug into his right hand.
"Woah! Are those your fangs? You'll have to tell me where you got your costume, it's so real!"
Saiki felt his breathing settle now that her neck was no longer in his eyeline.
"Can I touch them?"
Too slow did his mind catch up with his ears and before he could react she was brushing her pointed finger over his fangs. He tried to sit still so he wouldn't cut her.
Teruhashi shivered and then hissed as the sharp tooth cut her finger. "Ouch! Ah, those are really sharp."
On his next inhale Saiki had to remind himself that he was in public, that he wasn't feral, and that he did not need to act on his instincts.
"Saiki? You're hurting me."
Saiki looked down and ripped his hand off of Teruhashi's wrist.
He needed to leave. Right now. Bowing he began running away from the blue haired girl.
He whimpered to himself 'Her blood tastes amazing.'
-
Kaidou relaxed re-entering the room after getting fresh air. He didn't know what he would have done if Saiki hadn't told him to go outside when he did. Probably outed himself in front of a ballroom in front of people. He shuttered at the thought.
"You sure you're okay?"
Kaidou looked at his sworn friends and he felt his heart clench. Even after Aren found out he was a vampire he refused to leave his side. He even offered his blood when he needed it! Kaidou didn't know what he'd do without him.
"I'm okay Aren, I promise. I guess I'm just a little hungry, but nothing I can't handle. We should leave soon though, it's best to go hunting before it strikes midnight."
"Right okay, you'd know best." Aren smiled down at him before looking back out the crowd, his smile replaced by a frown. "Hey, crazy question."
Kaidou looked him. "What's up?"
"How long can a vampire go without blood?"
Kaidou thought about it. "Well I guess it depends on the situation. If a vampire was in a place where blood wasn't readily available then they would be able to store the blood for longer by expending less energy, but if we're talking about modern times it depends."
"On."
Aren's voice was making him nervous. Carefully Kaidou shifted from one foot to the other before pulling them to a wall on the far side of the room.
"Vampires are all trained to have different tolerance's do different things. I was trained to have a high tolerance to pure silver, but other vampires might be trained to go a while without blood. For myself I can only go 3 days without eating, but the max a vampire our age should go without eating is a week. More accurately 7 days."
"What happens after 7 days?" Aren's voice was dark, and Kaidou forced him to look at him.
"A vampire will go into a frenzy long before 7 days."
Aren's eyes popped out of his head. "A frenzy?!"
"They won't notice it at first, their hunger will make them numb. They'll be more lethargic and tired, but then they'll go insane looking for blood to consume. But why are you asking this, I ate 2 days ago."
"I'm not worried about you. I'm worried about Saiki! Dude is a vampire and I'm pretty sure he hasn't eaten in at least 5 days cause he was all pale, and did you notice how slow he's been moving recently?"
Kaidou stayed quiet before pulling his hand away from Aren's face. "Saiki isn't a vampire." The seriousness in the vampires tone scared him.
"Shun, I saw his eyes change right in front of me. He's definitely a vampire."
Shun shook his head. "He's not. Trust me." He didn't like lying to Aren, but it was each vampire's choice when and if they revealed themselves. He might not be as convincing as Saiki, but he would deny it even if he was held at stake point.
"Shun—"
"I'm going to go get more 'blood', the stuff is actually pretty good." He interrupted.
"But—"
Before Aren could finish he used his super speed to find Hairo. He hated to admit it but now that Aren had pointed out all the signs, he was almost positive Saiki hadn't eaten in several days.
-
Saiki was doing his best to blend into the crowd and make it to the exit at the same time. His hubris was catching up to him, and he was now paying the price.
'Damnit! How could I go so long without eating?' he continued to scold himself as he made his way through the crowd, hand on his stomach.
-
Kaidou found Hairo in record time.
"Nendou, you've proven your point. You can drink more punch than me, and faster too. You're going to make yourself sick."
Nendou waved off his concern and Hairo sighed.
"Kineshi, hey. Can I um, talk to you?" He glanced around and before putting a hand on his hand and said "alone."
He watched Hairo perk up at the last part, before giving an excuse and leaving with him.
"What's wrong? You look worried." He gasped quickly covering his mouth with his hands. "You didn't get you know what, did you? Please tell me no. I don't have any spare blood on me."
Shun shook his head. "No no, I'm fine. It's Saiki. I think he's—" he paused as he saw a streak of pink followed by blue. "Being chased by Teruhashi?!"
"Huh? Why is that a bad thing."
"No I mean, I'm pretty sure Saiki hasn't eaten in days. We need to get him out of this party so he can go eat. Preferably before he goes insane and just starts eating everyone in a 5 meter radius. Which means getting Teruhashi off his tail."
"Right, you can count on me!"
Kaidou being faster than Teruhashi made it to her first.
"H-hi Teruhashi!"
She stopped abruptly almost running into him. "Hi Kaidou."
"Oh wow." He shook his head. "I mean, what are you doing?"
Teruhashi stood on her tip toes to look over the boy in front of her, and find the boy she had been chasing.
"I'm looking for Saiki." She said bluntly.
"Oh really, why? Aren't you enjoying the party?"
She nodded. "I'm just worried about Saiki, parties are more fun with friends."
"That's sweet of you, I'm almost surprised you're not dressed as an angel with how angelic you always are. Unfortunately though, I think Saiki is going home. He's been here since the start, and you know how dangerous it can be to walk home after a certain time of night."
"You're right," Kokomi smiled finding her out of the conversation "all the more reason to make sure he doesn't walk home alone."
"Mhmm, exactly. Wait huh?!" By the time Kaidou realized what the girl said she was already lost to the sea of people.
Hario saw Kaidou's mess up and was glad he had such stamina.
"Hi Teruhashi! Enjoying the party, I know I am. Have you tried the punch yet? It's really good. You should also try the food, and I think someone said at the beginning that there was going to be a Halloween dance. How long have you been here? What are you dressed as? Come on, slow down. I'm all for speed but it's Halloween! Even I relax today." Hairo beamed at her.
"I am enjoying the party, the punch was okay. Not sweet enough for me. I ate before coming here because I forgot they were serving food, I don't really like dancing and I got here an hour ago. It took me to find anyone with how many people are here, I can't slow down because I'm looking for someone. And I'm dressed as a Witch. And someone is about to pass out over there."
"Wait what!?" As Hairo turned sure enough he was met with the sight of a girl dressed in clothing much to warm for how many people were crowded in the room about to pass out. "Yipe!"
Kokomi smiled "Finally." Reaching the exit she was grateful that there was no longer a long line waiting.
"Saiki?" She called out into he darkness, but she was only met with silence. "Where'd you go?" She whispered to the silence.
-
Saiki used his super speed as soon as he breached the doors of the Saiko mansion, and he was never more thankful for the fresh air. In less than 5 minutes he was at a blood bank made for vampires. He bought 3 bags with the money he had on him, and realized he was going to have to settle.
'This isn't going to fill me up, but at least I won't be starving anymore. Maybe mom will have some blood bags at home.'
He walked out of the blood bank devouring the first bag in one gulp giving a sigh of relief at no longer feeling like a spring wound too tightly.
He drank the second one only a fraction slower, before getting to the third one and talking his time.
'As long as nothing crazy happens, I won't have to worry about expending more energy than the blood I drank just gave me. Unless I get into a fight or something.'
He kept walking on the street towards his house.
-
Kokomi made it to the nearest main street faster than she thought she would. She continued looking for vibrant pink hair in the small crowds of people that were around. She knew it was dangerous, but she wanted to find the boy. Nobody understood her like she did. He never questioned her about her "needing to be perfect" and he never fawned over her like everyone else did. Not to mention he didn't seem to have any strong opinions on monsters. From what she gathered they were just people in his eyes. Kokomi really appreciated that given she was best friends with 2 "monsters". Aiura was a Kitsune and Mera is a yokai that can never get full. Apparently it's really hard to befriend yokai like that, but she managed. All of this meant she had a pretty good eye for finding out who was a "monster" and who was a human. As long as they weren't trying to hurt her or her friends she really didn't mind, but Saiki? And don't get her wrong she cared deeply for the boy, but he seemed exceptionally weak. The thought of him being out on Halloween alone made her skin crawl.
"Come on Saiki, where are you?"
A sharp whistle made the teen stop in her tracks. "Well well well, if you don't smell amazing honey. I could just eat you up, actually I think I'll do just that." The man standing in front of her suddenly was slightly too tall to be normal, too oddly shaped to be human, and had way too many fangs to be something she shouldn't be afraid of.
"You're a, you're a-a,"
"A yokai? Yes indeed. And I am starving, your soul will be so good, and your flesh will be delicious."
She should scream, she should yell, she should cry her eyes out, fight using the skills she learned. Anything!
The yokai scratched her arm claws digging into soft flesh and she yelled.
"Mmm! That really is heavenly, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were an angel."
"I'm not an angel! I'm just—"
The demon interrupted her "my next meal!"
Teruhashi scrambled before roundhouse kicking the demon in the face. She was terrified to find he didn't even flinch.
"Hehe that was cute. Here, you can try again to make up for that pathetic first attempt."
Thinking quickly she pulled out the holy water her brother always forced her to carry and threw it on the demon. He gave an inhumane screech' giving her enough time to run away. She was gripping her arm with enough force to bruise as constantly looking behind her to see if the demon was catching up to her.
"Come on Kokomi! Faster, fast— mphm!"
Hands pulled her into an alleyway and the she saw a red overcoat lined with skulls as she switched places with the boy.
"Ugh. A nasty little vampire. What are you doing here boy? I'm looking for my dinner."
"Vampire?" Kokomi repeated quietly.
"Huh? You got nothing to say? Fine, I'll just REMOVE YOU!"
The demon man tried to slap Saiki out of the way, but he caught it with ease.
"My turn." Saiki twisted the demons arm backwards before kicking him in the knee.
"ARRGH! Alright alright fine! You can have her, I'll find someone else to feed on."
Limping and clutching his arm the demon ran off the direction he came.
'Good grief.' Saiki wobbled taking a knee for a moment before standing again.
"Saiki! Are you okay? You're not bleeding right? That was so scary."
Saiki brushed off his pants before freezing. He felt his fangs poke into his bottom lip, and then his eyes caught the blood on the girls arm. Without a second thought he brought her arm up to his mouth and licked the length of the claw marks, Teruhashi shivered.
"S-saiki?" Blue eyes met red and Kokomi felt her breath hitch. Her heart rate increase rapidly, the exact opposite of what she was taught if she ever ran into a hungry vampire.
Saiki slapped himself shaking his head and pulling off of her.
"Sorry, I need to go."
Before he could dash away again Kokomi grabbed his tailcoat.
"Wait!"
Red eyes looked back at her and she suppressed her fear.
"You're terrified, I can hear your heartbeat."
She swallowed unused to hearing the boys voice so much. "And you're starving. It must be painful."
He groaned letting his instincts win again, grabbing the girls still bleeding arm and breathing in the smell of her blood. "You don't know the half of it." He muttered.
"Then—" she started knowing this could be a horrible idea "then drink my blood. You're starving and it's dangerous, I don't want you to get captured and killed or something."
"Swear."
"What?"
"Promise to me that you're giving me permission to drink your blood."
The intensity in the boys eyes made her tingly. "I swear." She breathed. Before she could properly blink she was in his arms and then zooming across the city. She hid her head in his shoulder, his grip tightened a fraction and then as she was getting comfortable she was sat down on soft fabric.
She blinked rubbing her eyes and then looked at where she was.
"We're in your room."
The boy nodded shrugging off his overcoat and taking off his glove.
She fiddled with her fingers starting to fear the pain that might ensue.
"It won't hurt." He said glancing back at her, undoing the laces around his neck.
"But, you're going to suck my blood?" She questioned.
"I'm not killing or turning you, so it won't hurt. You might get lightheaded if I forget to hold back."
She rubbed her legs together under her poofy black dress.
Saiki tilted her head up to him and she had to suppress a gasp. She already found the boy unfairly handsome, but with the moonlight framing him and his hair being untamed she had to try and will back her blush.
"Do you trust me?"
"Yes." It was so sure she was not convinced she wasn't under a spell.
He gave her a smirk. "That's a terrible idea." He eased her down on her back blue hair spreading across his white pillows.
"Oh?" Her breath came out shaky "I thought I was supposed to be lured in by your c-" he has settled her completely on her back and he was grazing his fangs over her neck, "charms."
She felt his smile in her neck. "I didn't know you fell for me."
"I didn't say ah!"
She involuntary tensed as she felt the prick of fangs dig into the soft flesh of her neck. "Didn't say hah, that I,"
Saiki dug his fangs deeper into the vein that ran in her neck, enjoying her squirms deciding to hold her hands above her head.
"F-fell for y-you."
He hummed and she felt the vibrations of the action, gasping at the feeling.
He pulled back and Kokomi felt the blush on her cheeks as he licked his mouth clean of her fangs.
"Doesn't taste like that." He smirked.
"What does it taste like then." She met his smirk with determined eyes.
"Like you love the danger of being with someone who could kill you."
"I don't know what you're mmph!" Minding his fangs he kissed her stealing the last words of her sentence. Her eyes fluttered closed, and he nipped her bottom lip causing her to give a small yelp in surprise.
Just as quickly he pulled off her lips and returned to her neck.
"That's cheating." She managed to get out.
The rumble to his chuckle would have caused her to try and roll away, but she was pinned by his hands, and trapped in between both his legs.
Kokomi was 95% sure if she did this for much longer that she would pass out, but she didn't care. She wasn't lying when she said she trusted him, and right now? She'd die a happy death if it was in his careful arms.
