Chapter Text
Loki was dead.
His body lay in a heap on the floor at Thanos’s feet. Murdered in front of his brother. Having lived a long life of many regrets. It had finally come to a close. At least it was over.
What was to happen now?
He saw nothing, felt nothing, and thought nothing. His soul was now adrift in a currentless sea.
Loki became somewhat conscious again. ‘It’s over….
What will become of me?’ He felt a semblance of peacefulness in this state. ‘‘am I to ascend to Valhalla? Is this my eternity?.. I think I quite like it.’
He was in unparalleled stillness. True silence and not a single stimulant from the world. It felt like true peace, completely content.
It would not last long. He felt his stresses itch their way back to the forefront of his mind. ‘All good things must come to an end, I guess.’
He suddenly lit up with sensation. Feeling like he’d been set ablaze Loki Grasps at his phantom body attempting to ease his pain. His mind is now alite. Images of his death flooding his thoughts. It was unbearable.
He then felt himself being tugged at. His soul being Pulled in an unknown direction. He lost what consciousness he had.
Loki awoke with a shout. Shooting up from the table his head had been resting on. He now sat ridged, shoulders high and tight. He was struggling to breath, eyes wide and searching.
Taking in his surroundings Loki found himself in a lecture hall. Realizing it was one of the sorcery classrooms they had on Asgard. He was back in magik school. He looks at his trembling hands. They were so small. He felt small. He ran his fingers through his hair, it was short. The way he wore it when he was young.
He realizes he’s being stared at, by many eyes. All the students in the classroom were now turned in his direction. The girls stared confused, a few looked concerned. Amora looked at him with only annoyance.
He continued to take gasping breaths. Unable to stop his panic despite their stare. The teacher at the front finally spoke.
“Loki?” His eyes shot to meet hers “is something wrong?”
Loki willed himself to stop breathing so heavily. With great difficulty he answered “I.. uh-hhhh ah.. I’m in.. class.”
“..yes, you are..” she felt a little lost for words. She noted how pale his compaction was now and that he was sweating profusely. “Loki, are you alright? You seem il-“
Loki cut her off, “I can’t be here..”
“What?”
Loki stood up, knocking his chair back loudly. “I need to leave!” He headed to the stairs along the wall, stumbling over his first steps.
“You wish to see the healers.?”
“Yea.! I think.. “ reaching the bottom of the steps he grabbed for the handle on the door. “..something uh like that..”
His hand was shaking so bad he couldn’t get a grip on the door. Using two hands he pulled the door open and ran down the hall.
The teacher peered out the door and shouted “the healers are to the left!.. Loki!” But he was already rounding the corner out of sight.
“My word..” she stepped back to the center of the room concerned for the prince’s unusual outburst.
The classroom was now alive with quiet chatter. As the girls discussed amongst themselves about what had just transpired.
Amora sat looking towards the door, her face twisted with begrudging concern. A few girls turned to her, knowing Amora was the closest thing Loki had to a friend.
One girl asked “What was that all about?”
Amora searched for an answer “I.. “ she paused, unable to find one. “I don’t know.”
