"Hey Takina, are we married?"
"I'm sorry?"
It has been 2 months since they have reunited and temporary moved to Hawaii with the whole gang for a long vacation. Running a business with a van was a whole new experience to all of them, but thankfully the business has been doing great. They even got a few regulars only after a few weeks. But as they were about to clean up for the night, Chisato suddenly asks her a weird question.
"No, no, don't get me wrong. I was just asking hypothetically, but think about it. We already lived in an apartment together, shares housework, and you even vowed to be with me for the rest of my life."
"I never did that, Chisato" Takina protest.
"Putting that last bit aside, aren't we married already?!"
Ignoring Chisato's weird question, Takina continues to clean up the van. After putting back the chairs and menu board inside, she begin to wash the leftover dishes for the night.
"Takina~ don't ignore me," Chisato whines and quickly went after her partner.
Takina sighs before she responded to her. "Normal roommates do those kinds of thing together too, Chisato" said Takina as she washed the plates. Chisato who is now right besides her leans closer to see her face.
"You know what they say. 'and they were roommates' "
"I'll kill whoever you heard that from"
"Don't be like that! And besides, do you think normal roommates would do... this?!" Chisato swiftly wraps her arms around Takina's waist and pulls herself closer to her.
"Chisato!"
"See? Normally people wouldn't do this with their friends you know!"
"When did I ever did this?!"
"You did it this morning!!"
Takina continues to do the dishes as they argues back and forth with no real ill intention behind it. Just something to fill the silent around them.
"..."
"Takina, don't ignore my question" Chisato placed her head in the nook of her neck. Burying and rubbing herself on it.
"Do you really want to get married that badly?"
"Not really, I didn't think I would have lived long enough to experience it," she says nonchalantly as she let out a yawn from under her breath. Not that long ago Chisato believed that she would die before she turned into an adult. But thanks to the lycoreco gang combined force, they were able to secure her a new heart with a long lasting life along with it.
"And besides, our matching bracelet already fulfills a little bit of that desire"
"Is there something about the bracelets that you're not telling me?"
"Hehe. Guess for yourself"
They spent the next few minutes in silence as the running flow and the sound of water splashing fills the room. Takina's skilled hands swiftly finishing the batch of plates while careful not to disturb Chisato. Noticing that Chisato grip has weaken and her head was bopping lightly, Takina closed the tap and turned towards the person hugging her.
"... Hm don't move too much, Takina"
"Do you want me to stand in front of the sink till morning? Let go of me then let's go home. Here, I'll help you walk" Takina says as she moved Chisato's hands to her shoulder and position one of her arms around Chisato's waist.
"Aww, you're acting just like a wife...~"
"Which part? It's just your imagination, now get up"
They started to walk to their place not for from the van.
"Will we go home to the same place?"
"Yes, yes... we will"
"Are you going to be the first thing I see once I woke up in the morning?"
Takina hesitated a bit before answering, "... I am"
"Sounds like heaven"
"You really think so?"
"I love seeing you first thing in the morning. Your sleeping face is also really cute" Chisato says as she clings closer to her.
"Takina"
"Hm"
"I love you" she says as she weakly blinked her eyes, her brain probably too tired to process anything.
"You're already dozing off, aren't you?"
"But well... Let me answer you just in case you're still conscious"
"I love you too. Just seeing your face everyday already brighten my life too. I said before that I didn't make a vow, it's true. It was because I felt I wasn't deserving to be by your side. The feeling still haven't changed. But..."
Takina quickly entered their apartment and went to their room. Placing her on their shared beds, she stares at her face for a bit before continuing her words.
"I'll be by your side for the rest of your life you know. Whatever life may throw at us. I swear to love and cherish you, until not even death could do us apart."
Realizing that what she just said was a bit too embarrassing for her, she quickly hid her reddening face in her hands. After she calmed down, she lay herself right beside the sleeping chisato, place a kiss on her forehead, and whispered a little something before she went off to sleep.
"I'll say it to you again someday, when you're awake and in front of everyone to see "
