Work Text:
Wednesday Addams wants to kill someone. As soon as she entered the dining hall, she had seen Enid Sinclair talking with Yoko Tanaka.
The vampire is flirting with her. Wednesday eyes Enid and Yoko talking to each other from the other side of the room. They were sitting closer than she would’ve liked.
Enid was smiling and nodding her head at whatever the vampire was saying. Wednesday was too far away to hear what they were saying.
Xavier took a seat beside Wednesday on the table.
“What going on Addams?” He said in a cheery voice.
She glanced at him before focusing her gaze back on Enid and Yoko. “Nothing,” she replied.
“Nothing?” Xavier raised his eyebrows before following Wednesday’s eyes. “Is that why you look like you’re going to throw your roommate off the roof.”
She looked back at Xavier, he was staring at her with anticipation waiting for her to say something. Wednesday sighed she was not getting out of this conversion. “I don’t want to throw her off the roof.”
“No?” Xavier asked, his voice filled with amusement. “Then what’s with all the staring?” He motioned to the table Yoko and Enid were currently sitting at.
She wasn’t staring. She was merely observing.
Yoko stretched her hand across the table and gently tucked a piece of Enid’s loose hair behind her ear.
It was disgusting. Why did they have to do that out in the open of all places?
Xavier watched the interaction unfold. “Oh, I see…” He slowly nodded his head. “Which one?” he asked, throwing Wednesday off guard.
She snapped her head towards him. “What?” she asked a little too fast.
Xavier smirked at her. “I know that look. Bianca used to give me that look all the time when we were dating.”
“Get to the point, Xavier.” Wednesday declared, having enough of his smug attitude.
Xavier let out an annoyed sigh. He crossed his arms on the table and leaned over to her side. Their faces were inches apart. “You’re jealous of someone, so who is it the werewolf or the vampire.” He whispered as if it were some kind of secret.
“No,” she said sternly.
“No, what?” Xavier had a smile on his face, she could tell he wanted her to keep talking.
“I’m not jealous, I’m concerned for her,” Wednesday said slowly, hoping to intimidate him or at the very least get him to back off.
Xavier leaned back in his seat. “Whatever you say.” He waved off before taking a bite of his sandwich.
Wednesday rose from her seat, took her food tray, and walked off without another word.
It’s like he knew exactly what to say to irritate her. He was just teasing, she knew he was teasing because she has no reason to be jealous.
She’s not jealous of Enid and Yoko. Jealousy is for people who are in love, Wednesday is certainly not in love with Enid Sinclair, her terrible roommate.

Wednesday invited Tyler over to the dorms because she found a new lead to investigate. Enid was supposed to be here ten minutes ago, but she never showed.
Tyler was spinning around on Enid’s chair, his head leaning back and staring up at the ceiling. “Maybe we should go without her,” he proposed. “Waiting for her will only take up more time.”
Wednesday was about to open her mouth to protest when the door opened, interrupting her. Enid walked through.
“I'm so sorry, I'm late.” she leaned over with her hands on her knees trying to catch her breath. “I was with Yoko and lost track of time.”
Of course, she was, why wouldn't she be?
“It's fine, let's go, we've already lost enough time as is.” Wednesday walked towards her desk and opened the drawer, pulling out three flashlights.
“Here.” she tossed one at Tyler and gave the other to Enid.
The blonde beamed at her, taking the flashlight from her. “Thanks, Willa.” Her teeth were pearly white, somehow monstrous. Her blue eyes reflected in the light perfectly.
A feeling arose within Wednesday's stomach, a feeling of dread, one that made her face heat up and her heart beat faster than she thought were possible.
She must have caught the flu that's been going around. She'll have to check into the infirmary in the morning, just to be sure.
She looked around as they walked. The woods were dark and dreary, the mist was rolling in quicker than expected.
Enid was chattering on and on about the vampire. It was driving her mad.
Wednesday stopped walking for a second before continuing, wanting to get away from Enid.
The werewolf didn't even notice her stop, instead continued to talk about the vampire, lost in her conversation with herself.
Tyler walked faster trying to catch up with the two of them. “You’re jealous of Yoko,” he whispered to her. It wasn’t a question, it was a statement.
Why was everyone assuming she was jealous? First, it was Xavier and now it was Tyler. Who was next, Bianca Barclay?
Wednesday glanced over at the blonde checking to see if she heard him. She didn't, she was still rambling.
“What draws you to that conclusion?” The dark-haired girl asked him.
“You look annoyed every time Enid mentions her, or well, more annoyed than usual.”
Wednesday stopped walking, and Tyler followed suit. Wednesday leaned in close to him. “I'm not jealous,” she said emphasizing each word. Tyler looked stunned.
Wednesday continued walking only this time faster. Wednesday walked beside Enid, just in time for because she was done with her ramble.
“Sorry again for not coming on time, it's just that Yoko and I were hanging out.”
It was all “Yoko said this” and “Yoko did that…”. The only words that came out of her mouth were related to Yoko in one way or another. The girl couldn’t go one minute without mentioning the vampire.
Not that Wednesday was jealous. That would be ridiculous. She’s just concerned for her, that's all.
“You’ve been spending an awful lot of time with Yoko lately” stated Wednesday.
“Why are you jealous?” Enid’ voice had a teasing tone to it.
“I’m concerned about you,” the raven-haired girl answered. “You've been hanging out with that vampire too much.”
“That vampire is my friend,” Enid said with finger quotes on ‘that vampire’. “She’s been nothing but kind to me all week.”
The statement made Wednesday scoff “Sure.”
Enid’s voice shifted from her regular cheery one to a tense one. “We’re friends, Wednesday!” She growled at her, eyes glowing a bright yellow.
"You're naive if you think she just wants to be your friend." Wednesday raised her voice at her.
Enid turned around at full speed and started marching in the other direction, where they first came from. Leaving Wednesday alone with her thoughts.
Don't get her wrong, Wednesday loved seeing people angry and sad as much as the next Addams, but seeing it on Enid was something else entirely.
It made her stomach turn at the sight. She’s never felt quite like before. It seemed like these days the blonde was getting Wednesday to feel emotions she never thought she would feel.
Wednesday wanted to run after her, to apologize and say she was wrong, maybe even hug her, but her pride wouldn't allow her to move.
Wednesday shared a look with Tyler who was following behind them.
"I'm not jealous, I'm being perfectly reasonable," she said, more to herself than him. “Now come on the killer won't stop and neither will I.”
She turned and started walking, it didn't matter if Tyler was following her or not, she was solving this mystery, one way or another.
"Wait up!" he said as he walked to catch up to her.

Yoko and Enid had been hanging out more recently, Wednesday’s undoubtedly sure Enid was doing it to spite her.
Everywhere she looked there they were talking without a care in the world.
She shouldn't feel so… bothered by it. They were just
friends, acquaintances, and nothing more than that.
Right now they were in class, Enid and Yoko got paired up for a project.
Wednesday was staring, she knew she was staring, but she couldn’t help herself. Something drew her towards Enid, like magnet to iron.
Tyler and Xavier were starting to get in her head, their words repeating in her head every time she thought of Enid. ‘You’re jealous of Yoko.’
Lately, she's been thinking of her, a lot more than usual. Everywhere she looks there's Enid, not literally, figuratively.
When she looks at her side of the room, there's Enid. When she's walking down the hallways, there’s Enid. Everything reminds her of her a book, colors, even the sun reminds her of the girl she loves.
The realization hit Wednesday like a truck… she was falling in love with Enid.
Wednesday couldn’t help the feeling of dread that poked at her as she ran her mind over it again.
She was in love with Enid Sinclair and Enid Sinclair was in love with someone else.
////
Wednesday had been avoiding Enid all week. Easier said than done, it was hard to avoid the blonde when they shared a dorm together.
Wednesday did the very thing she swore she would never do, fall in love.
She wanted nothing more than to deny her sudden revelation but when she heard the sound of laughter erupt from the other side of the room where they were it became harder to deny it.
Eventually, Wednesday decided to confess her love to the blonde.
If anything goes wrong she could always plan a murder again and get expelled from this school.
How hard could it be? She asked herself. Just walk over there and tell her, simple as that.
Wednesday gradually walked towards the table where Enid and Yoko sat. “I need to talk to you.”
Enid looked up at her. Her eyes had bags under them, Wednesday could tell she hadn't slept in a while. Enid nodded and sat up.
She turned towards Yoko. “I'll be back.”
Wednesday led them to the courtyard, far away from Yoko. Enid followed behind Wednesday, her head facing downwards refusing to meet Wednesday’s.
“I think I'm in love with you.” Wednesday rushed out.
The statement threw Enid off guard for a brief moment. The nervous girl looked up at Wednesday with wide eyes and a red face. “I-I’m sorry what?”
“I said I think might be in love with you,” Wednesday repeated slower this time.
Enid blinked, she opened her mouth to talk, only to fall silent.
“Do you want me to repeat it again?” Wednesday asked.
“No, I’m just…” she trailed off. Enid sat on the nearest bench, she stayed like like for a while.
Suddenly, Enid reached out and kissed Wednesday. Wednesday pulled back. “What about Yoko?”
Enid's eyebrows furrowed at the mention of the vampire. “What about her?”
Wednesday was also confused. “Aren't you dating her?”
“I told you we’re just friends.” Enid’s eyes softened, “That’s actually why I wanted to apologize for yelling at you. I wasn't mad at you I was mad at someone else. I heard people talking about Yoko and me, they kept saying she was using me.” Enid put her hands on Wednesday’s neck, looking into her eyes.
“I wanted to apologize earlier, but you were nowhere to be found.”
“I apologize for yelling at you too. Tyler made me frustrated.” Wednesday said.
“He did? What for?” Enid asked.
“He told me I was jealous of you and Yoko.” The dark-haired girl admitted.
Emid smiled, leaning in to kiss Wednesday again, only this time no one interrupted them.
