"He's me. Except he's only got one heart, his life span will match yours," those were the words that came out of the Doctor's mouth.
The meta crisis looked at her, leaned in, and whispered those words. The ones that she wanted to hear. But she looked into his eyes. His eyes were what made the decision for her.
Since well the Doctor claimed that this was him, Rose could tell it wasn't. It was his eyes, her Doctor's eyes had a specific look in them, and he had a scent that belongs only to him. Any him. Tea, time, and a dash of madness.
When she looked at this man, breathed in his scent. It wasn't the scent that she loves, but rather, different. And his eyes. Her Doctor's eyes were filled with age, you could see if you stared, and even more, they were filled with pain, but also hope, so much hope for the universe and its inhabitants.
But the meta crisis's eyes weren't that, they had the age and the pain, but in comparison, they were so young, with no hope in them.
They may share a body, hair, and accents, and how they dress and their memories might be the same. But one was just wrong and the other was right. It was a feeling, deep in her being. These were not the same man, no matter what anyone says.
So, as much as she knew her Doctor wanted Rose to choose this Meta Crisis, she couldn't. Because he was wrong, in every way, in his eyes, his slight mannerisms, his scent. She knew, somehow, that if she stayed, she would be miserable eventually. But if she went with the proper Doctor, she would be happy.
And that made her choice. So, with a tearful face, she walked over to the Doctor and asked, "How much longer? 'Till you two 'ave to go back?" and, oh-. Her voice was clogged up. Looking at them, Doctor and the DoctorDonna.
The DoctorDonna answered once it became apparent the Doctor wouldn't, or maybe couldn't.
"We have roughly 2 minutes before the rift closes, then the universes should be sealed off for good."
Hearing it be said aloud finalized Rose's decision. So, she spoke, "'M comin' with ya. Can't stop me," her eyes were hard. Firmly set in her choice, "Jus' let me say bye to Mum."
With that, she turned and walked over to her Mum. The person who had raised her single-handedly, and hugged her. Before backing up and saying, "Tell Dad and Tony that I love them ok? 'Nd, promise me you'll tell Tony about me? Don't want my brother growing up not knowing 'bout me."
Jackie accepted her hug, before pulling back and looking at Rose mournfully, her eyes asking a thousand questions. But the one that made it through was, "... So, your goin' wit' 'im?" Before nodding towards the Doctor, who stood with his mouth hanging wide open and his eyes nearly popping out of his skull. Though a small chuckle did manage its way past Jackie's lips, she looked thoughtful for a moment before saying, "'Course I'll tell Tony all 'bout his big sister and how amazin' she is. And," she paused for a moment before continuing, "I'll them that you say you love 'em, Sweetheart," taking Rose's hands in her own for the last time, she said her final words to her daughter, "I love you Rose, Sweetheart. I am so very proud of you, even if I didn't show it the best. 'Nd don't you forget to slap him if he's acting out ok?"
With that Jackie stepped back, tears streaming down her face as she watched her daughter walk back towards the Doctor, and for the last time, Jacqueline Andrea Suzette Tyler yelled, "'Nd you better take care of her Doctor! Or else I'll find a way to smack you into the next few worlds! Differne' universe or not!"
And with those last words, the TARDIS doors closed, before being reopened real quick so that the Doctor could through his Meta Crisis something, which he yelled, "Piece of the TARDIS! You can grow your own now!" and now the doors closed for the last time, as the beautiful wheezing sound of the TARDIS left.
With Rose Tyler in the TARDIS with the Doctor, as it should be.
