Chapter Text
It was a rainy day, just like it usually was where [y/n] lived. It was early Spring, so it was still quite cold out, but they decided to go out regardless, the worst that could happen is they might catch a cold, right? They threw on their favorite [f/c] raincoat and left through the backdoor. Leaving a letter on their dresser to their parent/guardian that they were going to be out for a bit. Their parent/guardian was usually okay with them being independent, they were glad [y/n] was wanting to do things by or for themselves. It proved they were going to be a responsible adult in a few years... At least they thought so.
[y/n] chose to take a stroll through the back garden, large pools of water had formed in the fresh green grass that was just reemerging from the white blanket of snow that had since passed... Well mostly. A single drop of water from the roof landed on their face, it slid down the bridge and onto the hard wooden deck beneath their shoes. [y/n] used their sleeve to wipe off the small trail of water, then continued into the yard. Each step they took made a soft sucking sound in the mud. They spotted a large puddle that appeared large enough for them to lie inside. [y/n] looked down at the murky puddle, examining their reflection in the dirty water like a mirror.
They pulled on parts of their face, seeing them from different angles and proportions for a few moments. With a small sigh, they took a step into the puddle, not a moment sooner they seemed to get that stomach drop feeling as their foot sunk into what was almost an endless puddle. The fourteen-year-old lost their footing and soon fell into the puddle, closing their eyes and extending their hands forward preparing for the impact of the ground beneath.
But it never came...
