A Reflection

Summary:

A 15 minute writing exercise to try and waken up my writing muse. Nothing more, nothing less. This piece had no direction, no real purpose but I thought it would be good to share with all of you. I need to make these 15 minute exercises more of a habit, lol.

Thanks for reading! And as always, all characters are copyrighted to Cassandra Claire. I merely am playing in the sandbox she created.

Work Text:

Magnus Bane prided himself on being the High Warlock of Brooklyn. He also prided himself on his flamboyant way of life. The man was always down for a good party, and flitted from one 'partner' to the next. If one night stands really counted that is. Well, okay, they weren't all one night stands.

But the warlock had closed himself off to everyone and anything surrounding love. Camille had broken him, even though she had saved him that night on the bridge. Magnus wasn't about to do so freely ever again. Then there was Alexander Gideon Lightwood. A shadowhunter, a nephilim, and for all purposes bad news as far as he was concerned.

The warlock didn't normally do business with shadowhunters. Shadowhunters were known for their love of downworlders. A good majority of shadowhunters damn near despised downworlders. But that was all account of their upbringing and lies that they were told about aforementioned downworlders. With Alexander Lightwood however, the world that they knew was about to come crumbling down.

Alexander Lightwood, along with his sister Izzy, adopted brother Jace Herondale, Clary Fray and her vampire best friend Simon Lewis were changing the shadowhunter world. Little did they understand how badly it had needed to be done, nor did they understand how much of a long and difficult road that would be.

Magnus underestimated his association with the Lightwoods upon their first encounter however. Nor did he see just how involved he would now be with shadowhunters, and the lengths he would go to just for them.

But when your the older, much wiser boyfriend of Alexander Lightwood, things change. Worlds change, and with it come feelings, new relationships, and revelations for a Clave that had been stuck in the old world's ways. For far too long the Clave had been the all end for the Accords.
