02 – The Call of the Deep
Garmadon walked up to Ray, him and Maya had just arrived. They were here because of Nya’s situation.
“It’s been a while.”, said Garmadon.
“It has, old friend.”
They looked at each other for a second.
“We’re going to make Wu’s life hell, aren’t we?”, asked Garmadon.
“Defiantly. We always do.”
Wu liked them both, just not when they were doing anything together, ever. They had a way of causing chaos without even trying. The only one that could stop them was Maya. Mainly because Ray loved her and Garmadon fears respects her.
03 – Unsinkable
They had found the source of Nya’s problem. It was deep in the sea. The team decided to split up.
Nya had asked Morro if he wanted to join. He declined. He may not be a ghost anymore and not mind water, but going underwater was a little too much.
Nya talked to her mother; she was trying to convince Nya that they could figure things out. Morro walked over to them.
“Nya, be careful, I have a bad feeling about all of this.”
Nya looked at him, did even Morro lose faith in her? Her best friend?
“Because I might mess up?”
“No, because my powers have been… odd since your accident too. I’m just worried.”
Morro’s powers had been acting up. The accidents weren’t as bad as Nya’s and barely noticeable to the others, but Morro noticed it. He was worried.
“I’ll be careful.”, Nya reassured him.
Morro smiled at her, it’s all he can ask for, and turned around to leave.
“Good luck.”
“I don’t need luck. We got this!”
Morro left them smiling. Nya was beginning to be herself again.
Maya looked after him. She had never seen him before coming here.
“Who is he? I never got around to asking.”
“Morro, Master of Wind.”
“Master of Wind? I never met the Master before him. They must have stayed hidden for years.”
Nya chuckled a little: “Yeah…”
She was not going to open that can of worms. The Master of Wind during her time was also Morro.
Inside the submarine, Zane began talking like a pirate. Pixal could see the eagerness to join in Echo’s eyes. He wanted to go along with this.
“Echo, don’t.”
“Aww…”
The others just snickered around them. Between her and Zane, Echo was actually more likely to listen to Pixal.
04 – Thousand Fathoms Down
Nya got frustrated with her mother and stormed out of the room.
Outside the door she found Lloyd, Echo, Jay and Zane.
“You heard all that?”
Lloyd and Jay began denying it. Even Nya knew they were lying.
“Yes, we did.”, said Zane.
“Uh huh.”, came from Echo.
At least these two were honest with her.
Jay complained that they needed to fix they honesty and stuck the plunger he was holding on Zane’s face. Echo tried to help his brother but that thing was stuck good, it took a little to get it off.
06 – Long Live the King
Who would have thought that Kalmaar would be willing to kill his own father? He blamed them and now the team was on the run. Well, they weren’t’ really running, they were swimming at this point since the building had been flooded.
“Zane you don’t require a breathing device?”, wondered Pixal.
“Yes, but I like how it completes my attire.”
“You really do look nice. I’d like one too.”, said Echo.
“Thank you. We should still have one on the sub.”
08 – The Tale of Benthomaar
After Bentomaar told his story, he felt lighter. It was good to talk about this for once.
“And now I’m alone.”
“No, Bentho. We might not be family. But I promise you, you’re not alone.”, said Nya.
“Yeah, Bentho! We’re here.”, said Jay.
“We can’t pick out family, but we can pick our friends. And I’m proud to call you a friend.”, said Lloyd.
Bentho was relieved. This was actually pretty nice.
Echo whispered to Lloyd: “Finally someone out age.”
Lloyd chuckled a little.
The two love their family but they were all much older than them. It would be nice to have someone their age around.
09 – The Strom Amulet
Kalmaar had the storm amulet. Well, the fake one, but he knew that the real one was in Ninjago. He shipwrecked them on the Island of the keepers.
“Bentho, your brother is an asshole.”, said Echo.
“Agreed.”, said Lloyd.
The just heard an offended scoff from Zane. “Language!”
Even though Kalmaar had them stuck here, Benthomaar couldn’t help but find this enjoyable. Echo and Zane had the kind of relationship he had craved with Kalmaar and he loved to see them interact.
10 – Riddle of the Spinx
While the others were stuck on the Island of the keepers, Wu had Ray and Kai sparring. He never had the opportunity to find out the effects an element have on a former elemental master.
And freaking out Ray when he asked Kai to blast fire at him was a nice bonus, considering all the times he and Garmadon had made him the victim of their antics. He had hoped they would have grown out of it by now, they were adult men, fathers even, yet they were just as bad as always. They knew exactly how to push Wu’s buttons.
The real amulet was in Ninjago City. At the explorer’s club! Of course, Clutch had stolen it.
Morro was losing his patience with this guy. Unfortunate, his powers caused many things in the room to be knocked over. He already had a tendency to subconsciously use his powers when irritated, but since his powers had been acting up, it was a stronger then usual.
This really was a pain.
12 – Master of the Sea
They had been captured and thrown over the side, luckily the rest had come just in time.
They began fighting the Merlopians, Morro’s powers kept going haywire, it was getting worse and worse. Nya seemed to have her control back, but why are his still like this? His powers felt much stronger than before, ever since he got close to the amulet- Was the amulet causing this? It was likely, he put that aside for now. He could probably figure this out later.
Morro jumped to help Nya and, whoever they brought along, fight Kalmaar. He pushed the other guy aside and jumped in the water. Nya was ready to go after him. Morro help the new guy up and said: “Go get that overgrown Calamari!”
Nya got it, she had the amulet!
Cole and Morro brought the amulet to Shintaro. Vania was happy they came to visit, but the reason was less happy than she wanted. Morro kept his distance from them until the amulet was locked away. His powers seemed to have gone back to normal, so the amulet couldn’t have been the reason, but he wanted to be sure it was far away, before getting close to Vania and Cole. Better safe than sorry.
15 – Nyad
Nya was quiet, too quiet for Morro’s liking. She was worried about Jay, all of them were. Morro sat down next to her. He wasn’t at comforting people, but he knew Nya needed it. He should have gotten Kai; he was her brother after all. But Nya was also his best friend. They had grown close, not surprising considering that their elements were closely connected. Once Morro had come around, they just hit it off. Nya once compared it to Kai, Cole, Zane and Jay. Apparently they had a rough start but hit it off quickly after that, possibly because of their elements and inherent connection.
Instead of talking to her, he just put an arm around her and pulled her close. It was just how they were, just having the other close was comfort on its own.
Morro may not like to beg for fate to be kind, he was done with fate, but he prayed that Jay would come around, that everything would turn out fine, that they could go home and just enjoy the evening.
Destiny really hates Morro. Nya merged with the sea.
Morro prayed that there was a way for her to turn back, he didn’t want to lose her.
16 – The Turn of the Tide
Watching Nya fight Wojira and Kalmaar was mesmerizing, Morro could help but be amazed. He feared that Nya might never come back.
His fear was justified. Nya merged with the sea, which meant she was gone. Nya was no more, only the endless sea.
Morro just stood there, watching Jay try and talk to Nya. To talk her into returning. He watched Kai too. Kai always kept his suffering quiet, now was no different. Kai seemed somewhat unfazed, but Morro saw that look in his eyes. He was close to tears, close to just sobbing. Morning the girl he not only knew all her life but also raised.
All of them were frozen, as if they didn’t understand it just yet. Before they could do anything more, Nya was gone. She was gone.
They had won, but at what cause. Was it worth it? Morro wasn’t sure.
Morro wasn’t sure how things would continue. He felt as if a part of him had been ripped away. A part he didn’t know was there for years, until he met Nya. He hated it. For the first time Morro grieved someone and it hurt. A lot.
