You are a witch. That can mean many things, and for you it means that you make things, and you fix things, and you take care of things. You're making something right now, in fact. A new doll. You had hoped you wouldn't need to do that again so soon, but there's nothing for it. Now is the time. Other witches have the luxury of making dolls whenever they feel like it, but in your house, dolls are made as needed.
You glance over at the mechanical heart sitting on a nearby table, its runes pulsing dimly in the gloom of your workroom. You know plenty of witches who work in well-lit rooms with fastidiously organized tools, but you don't like to put on airs. Gloom and clutter is comfortable. You let out a long, low sigh as you tighten a screw. It's not going to be happy about this. Well, it wasn't happy before, but it ESPECIALLY won't be now. But what were you supposed to do, just let it die back there? Okay, it would probably answer "yes" to that question, you doubt that it took that many pills by accident, but. No. That would not have been an option. It was a friend, and friends don't let friends die. Ideally that would've taken the form of some medical assistance, but, well… it was already almost gone when you arrived, there was nothing to be done for that body at that point. The best you could manage was binding it. You swear you see the heart's runes glow a bit brighter, as if it knows you're thinking about it, but that's impossible. Just your imagination. You avert your eyes, returning to the task at hand. You've got to make sure to get this body right. It'll be in it for a long time, and you wouldn't want the poor thing to be uncomfortable
