Work Text:

[virgil storm started a private message with logan starr, 5:10pm]

virgil storm: come over to study

logan starr: Your lack of punctuation is making me question whether that was a demand or a request.

virgil storm: i literally hate u

virgil storm: twas a request

logan starr: I thought your parents were not fond of me, or anybody being at your house. Has that changed?

virgil storm: they arent home

virgil storm: probably wont be for a lil while

virgil storm: i just like

virgil storm: miss u lol

logan starr: Miss you, too. I understand you must be feeling somewhat lonely right now, let me change clothes and I will be there shortly.

logan starr: We do not have to study if that was a ploy. If you ever need me to come over for emotional support or quality time I am more than happy to oblige. You are important to me, Virgil.

virgil storm: ur important to me too

virgil storm: thanks for comin over

virgil storm: ur the best

[read by logan starr, 5:16pm]

“will you let me in?”

“no.”

“at what point do you become mature?”

the two of them giggled mindlessly, virgil turning his body to allow logan inside. this house was familiar to logan, somewhat. he’d been over a couple times before.

the two teenagers stood there for a moment, lost in their own heads before virgil finally shut the door and looked over.

logan took note of the messy living room, dirty laundry and actual trash strewn out aimlessly. it wasn’t his place to say anything, though.

“your hair looks very nice today, virgil. did you add more purple?” logan let his cold, pale hand run through the fibers of virgil’s soft hair, and before another moment could pass, virgil embraced the taller boy with a hug that was brutal in the best way possible.

everything fell silent and virgil just let his arms freeze around the torso of the person he felt safest around, his head buried into logan’s chest.

logan sucked in a breath, his eyelids falling as his own arms cautiously wrapped around virgil.

“are you.. alright?”

“you really like my hair? you mean it?”

logan tightened his clutch, bringing virgil’s body closer in a way that made both of them feel so vulnerable yet so at peace.

“of course i mean it. i always,”

tighter. closer.

always mean it.”
