Work Text:
Marinette waved to Nino when she saw him in the library.
She walked up to him with a smile.
“Hi Nino!” Marinette said.
“Hey dudette! Can I show you a song I made for Alya? I wanna know if it’s any good” he said, kinda nervously.
“Sure!” Marinette said, then sitting next to him.
Felix watched it all go down. And, he was fine with it.
I mean, Nino had a girlfriend, and was showing Marinette something that literally for said girlfriend, so yeah.
But, he wouldn’t even be upset in the first place.
It was all great!
The next day, he saw Marinette playing video games with Max.
Another normal thing, on a normal day.
He smiled seeing her happy.
That smile…
Wait what?
Anyways. He thought she was kinda cute, especially when she smiled…
Wait.
Why on earth does he keep focusing on her smile?!
Only a few hours later, he saw Marinette talking to Nathanial about his new comic book he was working on.
Felix felt a hint of jealousy towards the boy.
After all, Nathanial DID used to have a huge crush on Marinette. Or, so he heard from Adrien.
But that jealousy faded when he saw Marc come in and started lightly flirting with Nathanial, who was flirting back.
Marinette was just giggling the whole time.
And goodness gracious that giggle-
His eyes widened when he realized what he just thought.
Gosh she was pretty.
But, alas, she loved Adrien.
Adrien…
A few days later, Felix saw Marinette talking to Kim.
Why the heck was she talking to Kim?
Felix tried listening to the conversation during all the noise of the classroom.
They were talking about, Alix?
“So yeah, I kinda wanna ask her out. But like, I don’t know how” Kim said.
“Maybe don’t give her a giant fancy pendent though” Marinette laughed.
Kim laughed at the reference.
“You should probably just ask her later. Maybe you guys can go rollerblading or something?” Marinette suggested.
“That’s actually a good idea! Maybe she’ll be up for that. I’ll ask her later, thanks!” He said before they hugged quickly and he ran off.
If only Marinette would be willing to hug him-
What the heck? Why on earth was he feeling these things?
She’s just a girl from his class. So what if he’s a little attracted to her? It’s not his fault that she’s so-
He immediately snapped out of his thoughts as he heard Adrien call for him.
It would be a long day.
Luka Couffaine.
Marinette’s ex boyfriend, who he was still close friends with.
How she was still friends with him? He never asked.
But he was always curious.
Friends with benefits? Maybe yes, maybe no.
But probably not.
Although he was a bit jealous of Luka, he tried not to be.
Marinette had the right to hang out with anyone she wanted, he couldn’t do anything about it without seeming like a selfish jerk.
He watched from the sidewalk as the two hugged.
Gosh dangit, he wanted Marinette to hug him like that.
If only she didn’t hate him like everybody else.
He walked home, feeling odd.
He was practically spying on her, wasn’t he?
He suddenly heard a cheerful voice.
“Oh Felix! I didn’t see you there! Hi!” Marinette waved.
Felix waved back, but Luka just glared at him.
He hesitated before continuing to walk away.
The next day was a Saturday.
He wanted to spend the day quietly and calmly, and just read books. But that was far from possible.
He heard Adrien and some girl’s voice playing video games loudly in the room next door.
The voice was familiar, but he couldn’t quite pinpoint who it was.
Eventually he got fed up and went to Adrien’s room.
He slammed open the door.
“Adrien! Be more quiet won’t you? I’m trying to-,” he stopped short when he saw Marinette pop up from the couch.
“Oh Felix! You could join us if you want?” Adrien said.
“But I will warn you ahead of time, Marinette always wins” he said, winking at the girl.
“Well, I’m not THAT good, I just have good luck” Marinette smirked.
“Oh really? Honestly it’s cuz I suck at the game” Adrien replied.
“You don’t suck at being funny though” she said, poking his nose.
The two continued to tease each other and Felix had enough.
He was jealous.
VERY jealous.
Not wanting to cause any problems, he left and closed the door.
He may have slammed it a little to hard because only a few minutes later, Marinette was knocking on his door.
When she came it, she walked over to him and stopped in front of the chair he was sitting on.
“Hey Felix? Is everything okay? You seemed kinda angry earlier” Marinette asked in a sweet voice.
He immediately melted hearing it.
Her voice was very soft and sweet, and he couldn’t stop himself from falling even deeper into the hole of love.
“Yeah. It’s just, I know it’s wrong, but I can’t help but be jealous of Adrien sometimes” he said, looking into her eyes.
“Why’s that?” She asked, grabbing his hand.
“Because I-,” he paused for a moment and looked at the girl.
Would this ruin any chance of them being together?
No.
He didn’t care any more.
“Because I love you” he said, pulling her onto his lap before kissing her.
After the broke apart, he went straight to apologizing.
“Sorry I should’ve asked first! That was really bad oh my gosh what did I do?!” He said.
Marinette looked at him in confusion.
“Was the kiss bad?” Marinette asked, a hint of hurt in her voice
“N-No! It was great! I-I mean-,” Felix couldn’t continue, because he was interrupted with Marinette kissing him again.
After pulling away, she got off of him.
“I think I have to go now. See you at school on Monday!” She waved goodbye as she left the room.
Now he knew that it was definitely possible to confess to Marinette.
He just needed the right trigger.
