Chapter 1: RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!!

Summary:

An escape has been made!

Notes:

I made this like eons ago, just thought it'd be fun lol.

Chapter Text

Gregory was a smart child. Smarter than most adults. Not everyone, even the P&S staff, knew how to replace every single animatronic’s parts with what they needed. They’d either have to focus on one or just do basic maintenance for all without diving deep into the code.

It’s not that he had to do…too much for the Glams. After all, they had helped him and Freddy hunt down the true perpetrator, and Vanny in her last(?) moments, had lit the place aflame.

Although, Gregory swore he saw her running away when they got out…

Still, he didn’t focus on that. The Glams had made it out, Monty pacing around and jerking a hand through his faux mohawk, Roxy tapping her foot with crossed arms, and Chica…just staring at the flames. Freddy had yet to put him down after scooping him up at the doorway, bursting through the glass like a Marvel superhero.

Gregory was definitely impressed.

A rumble started up, and all Gregory could imagine was an earthquake on TOP of all this, and Monty in mid stride was knocked down, glitching through curse words as he tried to get back up. Roxy stood her ground, hackles raised as if she were ready to pounce.

None of them expected the roof to explode outward, Freddy shielding Gregory from debris as the massive DJ spider thing crawled from the carnage of what was once the Pizzaplex. There had been no way for any of them to get back in, so to see the DJ erupting free was…

Well, Gregory didn’t really feel one way or another, but by Chica’s shocked and happy shriek, they were all pleased by it.

“DJMM!” She squealed, waving her arms to catch his attention as Roxy and Monty called up at him as well, whistling and hollering as one of the many arms caught on something. He paused, then pulled it free like the roof was made of mud and not cement, each step shaking the building before he hopped down and shuffled into the dirt near them.

All along his back were the different security bots, each of them flashing their flashlights around wildly, and several floorbots. DJMM held something tight in both hands, bringing the large fists down to the ground slowly before opening them.

In one hand laid Foxy, dressed in his pirate gear but smoke damaged, groaning as he sat up, rubbing his head with his non-hook hand. “Aye, DJ, grand of yeh. Landlubbers! What be going on?!” He hopped off the hand, grunting when Chica tackled him. Gregory squinted in the darkness, looking up at Freddy in confusion.

“Foxy was in there? I didn’t see him.”

“Oh. Foxy takes residence in the theater,” Freddy explained as he carted the boy over to the group of friends and away from the heat of the mall. “He may have actually been asleep in the boat on stage. He charges that way. Him and Bonnie are very strange like that-”

“Wait I thought Bonnie was-”

“FREDDY!”

The other hand opened revealing a large purple bunny that Gregory had only seen in cardboard cutouts. On his back was a plug with the cord still attached, sparking at the end. Beside him was that weird robot from the daycare, Sun or Sundrop or something, curled up and…asleep? The bunny had been kneeling down, hand on the shoulder of the other bot before he hopped-heh-up, nearly tackling Freddy who had stepped closer. “Blimey, it’s good ta see ya, pal! Eh? Who’s the chomper?” he motioned at Gregory who was now being squished between them.

Freddy laughed as Gregory squirmed free, climbing on top of Freddy’s shoulders. “I’m Gregory! I thought you were dead!”

“Dead?” Bonnie looked confused as Freddy’s ears drooped. Bonnie rolled his eyes. “Blimey, Freddy, I go for one battery update and yer fit to be tied. Chill, you wanker,” he laughed, nudging Freddy’s shoulder before turning back to the DJ. “OI! GIVE ‘EM TO ROXY, MATE!”

DJMM made a hum like if you plucked the strings of an electric guitar, carefully spilling the sun thing from his hand and into Roxy’s waiting arms, her and Monty surrounding him and mumbling together as the mini thing that had chased Gregory in the vents skittered down DJ’s arm, clapping cymbals together as he peered over a giant finger.

Gregory made a noise, gripping onto Freddy harder. “I hope that Moon thing snapped out of it. He dragged Freddy away!”

Freddy sighed, even though he had no lungs Gregory knew of, and reached up to playfully poke the boy’s cheek. “I did inform you, Gregory, that Moon was merely taking me to parts and services as per protocol.”

“It was weird!” he argued back as Freddy started toting him over to the small group. The Sun thing, which he should really get the name of, groaned as it came back online. The rays around its head twisted and turned as it rubbed at a dent on its forehead.

“Woah woah wowie friiiiends,” it sounded out of breath which seemed very unusual for a robot to Gregory. “What’s goi-RULEBREAKER!” it shrieked, darting behind Monty who started chuckling, patting the hand that was on his shoulder as the Sun thing pointed with the other hand. “RULEBREAKER! YOU ARE B-banned…” it mumbled, staring down at Monty from where it had scrambled over him. “Monty?!”

“Cher,” he purred back with amusement as Gregory made a gagging noise. Gross, they had goo-goo eyes at each other!

“Ew. The Moon thing won’t eat me, right?”

“Moonie is NOT a thing!” Sun’s face snapped up, a tongue peeking out so he could make a raspberry at Gregory. “Moonie is sick and not feeling well and you, you turned off the lights!! …where are we?” He suddenly noticed the lack of music and colors, rays spinning back and forth lightly as he looked around, never moving from his awkward position of half climbing up Monty’s back.

Gregory pointed at the Pizzaplex. “We killed a zombie.”

This did not appear to help the Sun, who was staring in much concern as the only place they’d ever lived in was burning to the ground. Gregory felt massively pleased at shocking the daycare guy. He was actually really funny when he wasn’t trying to make Gregory do baby stuff like making macaroni pictures or nap time. Gregory was well past a nap time. He was 8! Who even did things like that?

The giant spider animatronic shifted, tilting his head for a moment before deciding to scoop everyone up at once. Gregory let out a shriek, then laughed as he tumbled on the soft hand, the mini DJ crawling on top of him curiously as he laid upside down.

“Oi! What’s the meanin’?!” Bonnie yelled up at him, he and Freddy tangled up as they bumped into Chica who burst out in a laugh, rolling away from them and sitting up. DJMM chirped at them, skipping around for a song before ‘this is the police, put ya hands up! Put ya hands up!’ played. Gregory sat up quick, peeking out between the large fingers as the others tried to get their bearings.

In the distance, sirens were blaring. He could see spots of red and blue lights, and loud honks of fire trucks. None of that was good for the group, and he thumped the large finger quickly. “Hurry up!”

DJMM let out a burst of static, and the bots on his back quickly turned out their lights, opting to huddle down. Gregory had to assume it was either magnets or pure luck that held them on. Hey, he could follow directions a machine told him, it wasn’t like he knew the exact workings of a robot. For now he looked behind him as the others were gathered around the Sun, who was busy chattering non-stop. He frowned, bouncing his way over, and maybe he was giggling a little. Hey, the gloves were like a bounce house, who can blame him!

Sun kept wringing his hands, swinging from looking at Monty who had his hand on his back, to Freddy, catching sight of Gregory. “I-I just think, Moonie said not to, right? Right? So he’s sick! He is! And I think it’s a bad, bad plan, Freddy, I do. He-He hasn’t even woken up to say good morning to me!” he squeaked out, bouncing in place and making a squeaky toy noise. “A-And you know we like our routines!”

“I understand, Sun,” Freddy said, his hands held out in front of him as if trying to ease Sun’s worries. “But we may be okay now that we are not connected to the Pizzaplex. It would not hurt to try.”

“Try what?” Gregory asked, climbing up Freddy’s back to dangle like a koala, peeking over Freddy’s shoulder as Freddy looked back at him with a smile.

“Superstar! Ah, Moon is still sleeping, I suppose you could say. We were attempting to encourage Sun to reach out to him.”

“They can do that?” That would be cool, having another person in your head sometimes. Although, the more he thought about it, the more it felt weird. What if that person liked to eat bugs and he didn’t? Gross.

“Y-Yes!” Sun piped up, his shoulders shaking under Monty’s hand. “Yes, we can, b-but um, when Moonie is away, he tends to sleep, when I’m away, we chat! Um, but, he was sick, I shouldn’t disturb him, no no no.”

Gregory frowned as Freddy and the others were trying to soothe the terrified Sun, looking around as the light of the fire was slowly drifting away, and the inky blackness of night was drifting over them. “Mm, is it ‘cause he went nuts trying to drag me around?”

“A-A little!” Sun squeaked out, even though Freddy let out a soft ‘Gregory’, as if admonishing him. “Well, um…Moonie doesn’t…remember that,” he mumbled, fingers twisting together as Monty patted his back. “I don’t really…remember, that much, b-but! He’s sleeping! Sleep is needed for recovery, you know!”

Gregory shrugged. He didn’t know much about that, but he did know that when he didn’t feel good, a good nap helped him out of it. “Well it’s been like an hour, he should be good, right?”

Sun mumbled something, the sunrays on his head tilting back and forth as if in thought before he slumped a little. “F-Fine, I’ll…see if he wants to.”

That was good enough for Gregory, who still had, you know, feelings on the whole ‘Moon animatronic chasing him down to offer him up as a sacrifice’ situation. Not a lot, since he’d already gotten over the fact nearly everyone else also tried to hunt him down.

Then again, they didn’t know the security guard-Vanessa, that jerk-was a killer, so could he really fault them? No. Could he make them sweat about it? Certainly.

He clambered back down off of Freddy, who let him down onto the cushioned hand easily enough, and he bounced over to the fingers making a cage around them as they moved slowly. This was actually really fun! If he had to equate it to something, he supposed it would be much like a ferris wheel.

Probably.

But where to go from here? His first plan, at the very beginning, was busting out and heading back to his little bitty cardboard house in the alleyway, wait for it to reopen, then go back in for another slice of pizza. His second plan, after meeting Freddy, was to take him along with. After all, that place was super boring and way scary, so why wouldn’t Freddy want to go with him? He then had to update his plan with each new friend they gathered, although it was a toss up for the daycare attendant. DJ was cool when he wasn’t scuttling after Gregory, but he was also big, and Gregory was not. That would’ve been a hard gain to get.

But now he had everyone! So that was good, right? Right.

…probably.

But where would they go? What would they do? He didn’t want to go to school, or have the police find him. They’d yell at him, then toss him back in the foster system, where he’d just run away again. But he hated getting yelled at! A small, slightly more logical part of his mind, reminded him that everyone here didn’t sleep. They recharged. Where would he get electricity? Where did adults get electricity?!

Aw man. If only he were much, much older. This would’ve been easy.

A slightly chilly hand touched his hair, and he looked up, seeing that scary Moon thing again. This time, his eyes weren’t red, but a nice blue. The Moon thing tilted its head at him, a small smile on its face. “Gregory. It’s far too early for such deep thoughts.”

“It’s only…” a glance at his Fazwatch, only able to tell time now and connect to Freddy (and others). “...like, 5:30!”

“And most people sleep from 10 p.m. until 7 a.m.,” the Moon said, fluidly sitting down and crossing his legs. “Especially children.” Gregory just shrugged with a ‘what can you do?’ grin. The Moon snorted, somehow. Gregory still wondered about their lungs. “Come here. No use in being awake right now.”

Hmm. Obviously his intention was to make Gregory sleep, which seemed, you know, stupid. He was already awake, the sun would be up in…uh…an hour? Sure. So, that was silly! Stupid, even! But, well, the Moon was cool, which was a balm on Gregory’s heated skin from the fading fire, and maybe he wanted to be hugged close by someone. Freddy was nice, but the daycare attendant was thin and lanky, and felt more…human like, soft to the touch and comfy like. Gregory definitely didn’t sigh as he plopped his head on the Moon’s shoulder, and he definitely didn’t relax as those cool fingers ran through his hair, cooling him down further as they traced random letters across his neck. The other hand adjusted him so he was completely in the Moon’s lap, and vaguely he recalled someone else holding him the same way, a whisper of a woman’s voice, a soft lullaby.

It didn’t take much for his breathing to even out, and he fell asleep to the soft sway of DJ’s hand and the music box stuttering in the Moon’s chest.

I-35 was notoriously traffic jammed. On the best of days, you could get maybe a quarter mile of speed in before having to slam your brakes as someone cut you off, or slow to a crawl in order not to create a massive pile-up. On the worst of days, you got nights like tonight. Cars bumper to bumper, people sighing and tapping steering wheels in increasing impatience. Someone turning theirs off to save on gas, while others straight up just fell asleep behind the wheel, radios chattering about various things or playing country music.

Gerald Johnson tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, car in park, left foot tapping on the mat on the floorboard of his car. His daughter, Tamika, took up the passenger side. She was 14, and heading straight into the ‘my parents are embarrassing’ stage. Right now she had her head bent, one braid slipping down in front of her eyes, as she pecked around on her phone. She still wore her cheerleading outfit, the coach having decided to have them come in early for practice. Again. For the third time this week.

Hah. ‘Pecked’. He was starting to sound like his mother.

His sleepy gaze returned to the dash, staring out into the line of cars, a sea of red lights amongst the black. All he wanted to do was get them home, dig into the stew his wife was making, maybe watch a bit of that series they had been waiting for an update on…

Two cars pulled forward, and he changed into drive, slowly following before slamming on the brakes. Tamika grunted as the seatbelt pulled her back. “Dad! What the he-”

They both watched in increasing horror as a giant hand appeared, pressing down in the space left between the two cars. They slowly looked up as best they could, the hand attached to an arm, the arm attached to a white body as it slowly dragged itself onto the I-35. Everyone was silently watching as the thing paused, turning its massive head towards the stopped cars.

It used a third hand, since the other one seemed to be holding something, to wave at them cheerily, the keyboard mouth lighting up in various colors and sending out a delightful tune, before turning its head back to the other side of the interstate. The eyes were black as night, and it wore giant neon pink headphones. Everything about it was so cartoony, it would’ve been laughable had they not been in, you know, danger.

Tamika lifted her phone, and hit record.

The giant spider thing took great care not to crush any of the cars, but each ‘step’ made everything bounce just a little bit. Gerald was trying not to panic, he’d seen this in a movie, he was so sure of it! Tamika followed the giant spider thing with her phone, scrambling out of the car despite her father yelling at her to stay seated, and she leaned over the top of the vehicle to get a better angle.

On the back of the spider, tons of weird things moved around, flashing little lights around before the spider, making it to the other side of the interstate, hunkered down for a moment. Everyone stared, waiting for it to suddenly start smashing, only for it to vault over the edge of the bridge and away into the inky darkness it once lived.

Tamika hit pause.

“This is SO going viral!”

“Tamika, get in the car!”

In 1945, Ghost Manor Hill was a booming amusement park. It hosted a large wooden cabin meant for shindigs, drinking and family entertainment, a long train track through a manmade mountain, and several little stands throughout the park. After a while, it evolved, hosting a ferris wheel that would light up late at night, teacup rides that sent people hurling, a concert stage, and many other various things. Picnic tables were scattered, and eventually vending machines came in. They made their money based on old ghost tales, scaring the living daylights out of children and amusing teenagers.

In 20xx, Ghost Manor Hill suffered a fire at a building called Gretchen’s Kitchen. Nobody was hurt, but the fire blew the fuse box, which then shut down most, if not all, of the stations. The place shut down for one week, then two, then four, and then it just felt like they could do nothing about the fuse box by that point. The owners, much elderly by this point, quickly gave in and sold it to someone, who sold it to someone else, who mysteriously died and left the whole thing to rot.

Which was good news to our robotic friends, as just as the sun was cresting the earth, DJMM climbed the last hill to the sprawling park. He looked around slowly, as if in wonder, before lowering his hand with a delighted chirp. The robots on his back started skittering down, fanning out into the park to explore as Gregory rubbed his eyes, Moon having shifted him to be on his back as he hopped off DJ’s hand. He looked around as the others climbed down, fanning out to explore the new place as Monty wrapped his arm around Moon’s shoulders.

Moon let out a huff, leaning into him as Gregory snored on his back. “Well, isn’t this a surprise~”

“Ma lune chérie,” he murmured, pecking a kiss to Moon’s head and making him blush.

“You’re a cad,” he chuckled as Gregory groaned, lifting his head up sleepily.

“Ew, if you’re gonna be ooey and gooey, Imma go hang out with Freddy.”

“And you think he’s any better with Bonnie around?” Moon asked, but let Gregory slide down, yawning as Moon’s hands patted down his flyaway hair. “Oh, look at you, honestly. You need food!”

“In a miinuuute,” Gregory did NOT whine, thank you very much, and took off stomping to find the bear himself. Moon just chuckled, leaning back into Monty’s hold with a sigh.

“I am very much not 100% still,” he mumbled, flushing when Monty took up a hand, kissing the knuckles there.

“I know. We’re all a little worn down,” he chuckled. “You rest more, soleil éclatant and I will make sure it’s all good.”

“Mm, you’re a darling, amour~” Moon purred, pressing a kiss to his jaw as the sun started rising over the treeline. It took a moment for the light of the day to crest over the trees, slowly warming up the dirt grounds and cobblestones, finally reaching Moon and Monty. It took only a second for Sun to climb forward, stretching in their mindscape as Moon settled down for a longer nap. Monty grinned.

“Hello, soleil~”

“Monty, dear!” he crooned, pecking a kiss to him as he started bouncing in place. “Let’s go find out where we are!”

Chapter 2: Explorers! How Quaint

Summary:

What's this? A bit of plot? maybe.

Notes:

Rereading some of this reminded me of some very old HCs of mine...hehe.

Chapter Text

Jace, Kassidy, Marco and Sarah had been friends since the first year of college. They religiously followed Buzzfeed Unsolved, looking up to those who explored haunted locations. In time, Jace purchased a handheld camera, while Kassidy and Marco set up a podcast. Sarah did the research end, and they had made their way into the world as ‘Explorers of the Unknown’, a once monthly podcast/Youtube channel.

Jace had short brown hair, thick glasses, and a port-wine stain birthmark on their right cheek. Kassidy had short black hair that often held a flower barrette, with green eyes and a cochlear implant she called ‘Superman Ears’. Marco was tall and gangly with thick black hair and often seemed broody, but was actually really kind. Sarah had long blonde hair and had been a cheerleader in her youth.

About a month ago, a video surfaced of a giant spider like being crossing the interstate. It was no coincidence this happened after the mysterious Freddy Fazbear Fire which had the small town concerned about an arsonist. Still, the place had been cleaned and was being rebuilt, although what had happened to the beloved animatronics remained a mystery.

Two weeks ago, there were rumors of the old Ghost Manor Hill suddenly gaining electricity. Since it was hidden away due to tree growth, the rumors were mainly teenagers who had went exploring, so they weren’t exactly verified.

A week ago, someone uploaded a snapped photo from Ghost Manor Hill that took the world by storm, one side wondering if it was photoshopped, the other crowing about an actual haunted forest.

In the forest stood a shadowed entity in an odd shape. Their legs were tall, but the bulk remained on the chest. They only had four fingers on each hand, one hand raised in what some assumed was a wave. The ears were rounded, like how one assumed a teddy bear would appear. Unfortunately, the entity was covered entirely in shadows since it was taken on a mobile, but the person had explained they had met a straight up SCP in the forest who took the form of Freddy Fazbear.

Of course, a few people poked fun at them about this.

Still, it intrigued numerous supernatural investigators, but none had yet made it there to fully do an ‘interview’ with the beings that rested there. Well, until now, that is.

Jace adjusted the large backpack on their back, handheld camera in their left hand as Sarah hopped up on top of a small boulder, walking over it slowly. Kassidy and Marco walked hand in hand, hiking backpacks teetering ominously behind them. Jace checked their watch as they crossed a tree root. “So anyone know much longer it is to this place?”

“Yeah,” Kassidy said, raising up her free hand, “Waze said it’s like, ten minutes from the road by foot.”

“You use Waze?!” Sarah wheezed as she laughed, bending over and grabbing her belly as she snorted. “Waze is stupid!”

“Waze is helpful!” Kassidy argued, Sarah turning around to walk backwards as they argued about the usefulness of the app. Marco cheerily stayed out of it as Jace shook their head. They checked through the viewfinder of the camera to ensure the battery level was good, keeping an eye on the ground floor so they wouldn’t trip.

There was a noise off in the distance.

The group paused, and Marco shushed the two arguing as he dragged out a tape recorder from a side pocket. “This must be where the missing people vanished to,” he whispered fervently as Kassidy looked around in interest. “As everyone knows, there has always been a rash of disappearances every couple of years around this town, only for law enforcement to come up empty-handed.”

“Some say it’s all due to the opening of Freddy Fazbear’s,” Kassidy continued, leaning over to the recorder as Jace scanned the treeline. “A curse set in motion by a man unknowing of his fate, starting a horrendous domino effect that continues to this very day.”

“Of course, no one could reasonably connect the disappearances to him, but we all know that Af-”

“HELLO, FRIENDS!”

They screamed in unison as a giant yellow thing popped out of the bushes, one hand on its hips and the other posed dramatically in the sky. “My, my! You sure are out far! How-”

“Run!”

They booked it, their backpacks jingling and nearly knocking over two of them.

Sun blinked, then shrugged. “Oh well! Maybe next time, right, Moonie?”

That was funny as hell!

“Moonie! Language,” he scolded, adjusting a basket on his arm as he bounced back the way he came, humming the daycare tune as he did so. He’d collected a good assortment of blackberries, and had met a squirrel, albeit the squirrel was not interested in him.

They had set up as best they could over the past month. While they could no longer connect to the internet-or at least, FazNet™-they still needed to charge, and Gregory still needed to eat. He was a pretty smart kid, knowing how to ‘forage’ and grow things in the ground. Sun took to it like a fish to water, having been in love with gardening since they did a little bean experiment with the children in daycare, watching as they grew near overnight, wrapped in wet towels and fed with love.

Sun was the easiest to charge, and by extension, Moon. They still had solar panels from FazEnt’s now defunct idea of setting up an outdoor extension of the Pizzaplex, something they had worked on for a month before scrapping the whole thing. Fortunately, they kept the solar panels on Sun and Moon, as a ‘just in case’ precaution should they ever decide to go through with the panels.

It was lucky for them, since Sun came equipped with extras, and they could hook up wires to it to power the new place!

The biggest hurdle was DJ, who had always been plugged in and had never had to deal with the possibility of losing charge. Thankfully, this was Summer, and the sun was out blinding them all day after day. For now, they just had to hope it kept going, and that they’d have enough charge should a rainy day come along.

Speaking of charging and food, Sun hummed the daycare tune to themselves as he turned the corner to the battered kitchen area, ducking inside with the basket of blackberries. Chica was chopping up some tomatoes while Roxy was busy helping Gregory figure out how to fix something on mini DJ. “Helloooo~!”

“Hey, sugar!” Chica chirped as he bounced over, placing the basket on the bar before leaning in for a customary Chica peck to the cheek. “Had a good run?”

“Mmhmm! I saw some people in the forest though!” his knuckles rapped against the bar as he swayed on his feet, literally unable to keep still for long. “But, they ran away. Ah well.”

“Oh, they’ll be back, they always tend to come and startle Freddy! Now, you go put up the berries, please,” she shooed him on, and he bounced away eagerly, taking up the berries to put away.

It was a surprise to figure out a month had passed by so quickly. It still felt like yesterday when the Pizzaplex burned down around them, Moon breaking free of whatever had been stifling him after disconnecting from the intranet, all of them running for their lives.

In that time, they’d also managed to clear things out.

Roxy and Chica took up shop in the kitchen, owning a little room where a bed had been made as a ‘historical antiquity’ whatever that meant. DJ took up the stage with the rest of the staff bots, blasting music when he could and livening up the place. Freddy, Bonnie and Gregory took up an office type of house. It hosted two rooms, which was perfect for the couple and the growing boy. He no longer was stick thin, all knobby knees and boney arms, but had a puff to him now thanks to eating on the daily. A perfect weight for his age is what DA’s sensors told them.

DA and Monty took up shop in a small ‘bayou’ type of place. Lots of ponds for Monty to swim in, and a rowboat that Moon or Sun could play in when bored. They had their own style of bedding, a nest if you will, where they could wind themselves around Monty and doze. Or, on some nights, they curled up in DJ’s hand, the plush of it soft and easing to their gears.

…which was…something they had yet to bring up to anyone.

The Glams had gears and switches that stood the test of time. They had to, they put on shows and the like, signing autographs, etc. DA was different. Their gears, their ball joints and wires, they were meant to be easily replaced. If a kid knocked a wire loose, all it took was to replace it. If a ball joint popped free, it was easier to stick a new one on.

Thing was, they had no replacement parts to do this with now. They’d been lucky, extremely lucky, they’d all had nothing more than smoke damage from the fire.

Except now.

Sun’s knee was going out.

It was an easy fix, just slap a new joint in and get going. Except they had none of those around. The water from the bayou and the constant walking around had started grinding away the cushion that protected it. He was careful not to limp in front of the others, but it had started to hurt and lock up.

Oh, if only Mama Jolie were here, it’d be fixed in a split second! But no, they were far away from the Pizzaplex and disconnected from the world. It was just wishful thinking now…

And hoping they wouldn’t collapse in a pile of limbs soon.

For now, they continued on, happy to get back to their ‘chores’, even if their knee kept freezing up. It would be fine. It would be okay. It’s fine.

@pizzapizza: shut up about the haunted robots SHUT UP ABOUT THE HAUNTED ROBOTS-

@mena2000: so what happens after you find them?

@FazEnt in response to mena2000: once we bring our loved ones home, we will give them a good painting, wash, and hopefully integrate them back into the new and improved Pizzaplex!

Jolie could not believe her fucking eyes.

In crisp color, on her twitter timeline, stood an image that she hadn’t seen in a month.

It was Sun, large and in charge, holding a basket and taken from a video.

@eotu: Explorers of the Unknown here! We caught a strange being near our newest expedition: Ghost Manor Hill. We do not know what he is but-

She stopped reading, looking down at the photo. Yup. There was her robotic son, filthy as shit, rips in his pants and wearing a giant grin as he waved down at the team of four. It then whipped away at high speed, indicating they had fled.

Her coffee was cooling in her hand as she stared down at her phone. “Kathy. Kathy. Kat-KATHY, BABY!” She shoved the cup on the table, taking off for the back of the house, shaking hand holding the phone so tight it created red imprints against the skin.

Kathy and Jolie had met years ago, two intrepid STEM women who had a part time job at Freddy Fazbear’s as P&S techs. They got along swimmingly, barely a hitch in their lives as they slowly waltzed through life together. When corporate got wind that they were building their own robot, they begged for them to create one for the daycare. It would protect the children, guiding them as they aged, and would make FazEnt a hell of a lot of money.

They didn’t do it for the money, however, but they did do it because of the funding.

They came up with two ideas, two wonderful little beings. Sun, whose life was meant for happiness and creating games, and Moon, who was meant for calming and naps.

They only received funding for one robot.

So, they got smart. They implemented the two AIs into one, and crossed their fingers that they got along. Which, of course they did! Their creators did, so these two got along as swimmingly as Kathy and Jolie did, each a counterpart to the other. Day and Night, closely enmeshed as fate would have them be.

Still, Kathy worked in her own time, slowly building a body up for Moon to inhabit alone. It wasn’t fair to keep them trapped, especially when it caused twice the amount of wear and tear on their parts.

They had barely finished it when a fire took all that away, leaving the two mourning the loss of the only children they could bear to have.

And then rumors happened. Rumors of the animatronics living in the forest.

No, impossible, they thought. Sun and Moon could, maybe, but the others? No, not without being seen, or being caught. The Pizzaplex hadn’t even been rebuilt yet, so they knew they’d be shucked into storage for however long it took.

But here was undeniable proof.

And they were going to rescue their kids, one way or another.

There were two people at the edge of the grounds. Monty could see them from where he and Sun were weeding in the garden Chica had shown them to make. Monty squinted, his cameras in his eyes focusing in.

It was a girl with long red hair and a tank top and shorts, and a boy with a mohawk. Monty hesitated, because so far they’d not been spotted by humans, at least this close, but figured they weren’t with FazEnt dressed like that. So, he raised a hand, waving as Sun looked up. He hesitated then ducked behind Monty with wide eyes as the girl waved ecstatically, bouncing in place before cupping her hands to her mouth. “Hello!”

“Hi?”

The girl brought up a phone, probably taking a photo before speeding up the hill towards them, huffing and puffing. Monty shrugged at Sun who laughed nervously. “What do they want? The others tend to stay far away.”

“Dunno. You stay put, cher, I’ll go see.” He pecked a kiss to Sun’s head, making his rays spin in glee before he got back to weeding, and Monty headed to meet the two halfway.

The girl smiled, bouncing on her heels much like Sun, which made him smile as he crossed his arms, the boy panting with a groan as he caught up. “Jeeze, Yazmin, chill.”

“Shush, Max! Hiii! You’re uh, Monty Gator, right?”

“Yup, ‘s me,” he couldn’t help a flex of his muscles, always a little proud when someone recognized him. How could he not be? He was pretty impressionable. “...uh…how’d ya find this place?” he ran a hand through his mohawk, scratching lightly at the scales.

‘Yazmin’ laughed. “Oh, the internet is going wiiiiild with you right now. But that’s not important! How are you guys staying up here? Don’t you need electricity and stuff?”

“Eh, we’re fine,” he shrugged. “Could do with some replacement parts, but the place burned. Is it still down?”

“Yeah,” ‘Max’ said. “Still out. They’re working on it, from what we heard.”

“Cool.”

An uneasy silence cast over them and Yazmin clapped, grinning widely. “Well! We’ll have to help you out! Anything to stick it to the man!”

“Right on, rockstar,” Monty nodded, then paused. “Uh, what man?”

“Don’t you worry! We’ll be back!” And they were running off again, Max trailing behind her as Monty shrugged. Humans could be so strange, but they knew eventually FazEnt would find them. It wasn’t that much a surprise.

Still, he turned back, heading to Sun who was busy planting carrots now, eagerly patting at the dirt. “What did they say?”

“Just something about Twitter, I dunno.”

“Twitter is for big kids!” Sun said, and Monty figured that was answer enough. They went back to weeding as Gregory ran by, chasing a stray squirrel as he hollered and laughed.

…this was nice.

@yazsnitch: hi hi hi! I found your contact info on the Freddy Fazbear website. It listed you and another person as head techs?

@sunfloraj: hi, yes, I mean, we are, still. What’s this about?

@yazsnitch: Well, me and my friend went out there, to Ghost Manor Hill? They’re still there! But we don’t really think telling the corporate folks is a good thing. I saw this movie. It doesn’t end well.

@sunfloraj: NO. Do NOT tell them. It’s bad enough they have an inkling. …did…did you see Sun? The big sun animatronic?

@yazsnitch: Yeah! He was weeding and stuff but he limped a little when we saw him walk.

@sunfloraj: oh sunny…okay, wait, still, what’s this about?

@yazsnitch: Oh, Monty said they need parts. I don’t know nothing about that. I was just gonna buy a generator and pop it by but they’re using solar panels or something.

@sunfloraj: wow. That’s…that’s so kind of you, you don’t have to

@yazsnitch: ever since the Ever Given, my life has been meaningless.

@sunfloraj: I have no words for that

@yazsnitch: look, we all like them, it’s exciting! People have photos of Monty and that sun one hugging! It’s adorable!! We like adorable. Anywho, I can take you buy, I got a car. The way to get there is pretty rough since it’s been like 20 years since it was open last.

@sunfloraj: Really? 20 years?

@yazsnitch: idk man probably. Just lemme come with and see Roxy! I love her and want her to sign my roxy shirt

@sunfloraj: Let me talk with my wife and um, thank you, yeah, this is great news.

@yazsnitch: cool cool cool cool. Bring water. You’re gonna need it for the climb.
