Chapter Text
"The honour of your presence is requested for the wedding of
Hope Andrea Mikaelson
&
Josette Olivia Forbes-Salvatore
as we celebrate the union their marriage will bring."
Josie looked over all the fine details of the wedding invitation, making sure everything was perfect even though she hadn't designed this card. Her future mother-in-law and her own mother had collaborated on the design and wording of the card which she had no input on as there were other more important things for her to attend to.
Their wedding planner stood patiently in front of her as she presented other templates that Josie could choose from or add to but the one that she was holding right now appeared to be perfect.
It was in the form of a scroll with actual gold handles and gold tassels along with the same glittery accents which just made it look so prestigious that Josie didn't even know why they were spending so much money on an invite that people would just end up throwing away.
"Is it up to your standards, Miss Josette?" Amanda, the wedding planner, asked, stoically as she appear to have been compelled by Klaus, no doubt to do the best job she possibly could whilst working for two of the most significant families in the supernatural community.
Josie hadn't registered her voice straight away, almost forgetting that she was standing there as her thin fingers traced the patterns printed onto the scroll but eventually when she did distinctly hear Amanda's voice, she nodded, "Josie," She corrected, handing the invitation back, "Just ask for Hope's opinion but I think that one will be good."
Amanda gathered all the other potential invitations before making her way over to Hope, who was typing on her MacBook, most likely doing some kind of work for her father or uncle. They had been training Hope to take over their positions and lead the Mikaelson Empire so she'd been really focused on making sure she impressed them.
Josie kept her gaze on the two, watching as Hope sighed out in frustration due to her work being interrupted. Poor Amanda was just trying to get her attention. Hope could feel eyes on her so she calmed down and allowed the wedding planner to get her opinion, "I'm happy with whatever Josette chose."
Amanda nodded respectfully and once more made sure Hope knew which one of the invites it was and with Hope's approval she left the floor Josie and Hope resided on for the time being. The tribrid stopped her typing once again and turned her head slightly, "I can feel your eyes on me, Josette."
"Sorry..." Josie responded, eyes immediately averting elsewhere as she was a little embarrassed she'd been caught. Her cheeks were probably covered in a light pink blush as the heat rose up from her neck to her face.
Hope chuckled, it came out husky and low and lasted a few seconds, "Don't worry about it."
This wasn't how Josie envisioned how her wedding was going to be. She wanted it to be all her choice but most of this one wasn't. Hell, her own sister was getting more of a voice in the decorations than she was. Her wedding seemed too formal for the type of ritual it was. It was a union of Hope and Josie but not for love– no– it definitely wasn't.
Her wedding was meant to be a whole fairytale come to life. She wanted the huge, white dress that looked like it was ripped right out of a Disney movie. They allowed her to choose her dress but it wasn't like what she wanted.
Don't get her wrong, the dress she'd chosen was gorgeous but it didn't fulfil the dreams she'd had as a young girl. Hope had fought for them to have some say in these kinds of decisions and luckily that was granted to them.
She hadn't seen what Hope was going to wear but she'd heard from Lizzie that it wasn't a dress or a suit but rather a fancy jumpsuit. Their parents wanted them to have traditions in place so the two girls weren't allowed to see each other in their outfits until the wedding which Josie didn't mind except for the fact that their wedding wasn't for another six months or so.
Hope was amazing. She was respectful, made sure Josie was comfortable with everything and never once did Hope raise her voice at the brunette but that was not what Josie wanted. She wanted, no, she needed the passion, the fierceness, the dominance, she knew the tribrid possessed but never showed.
The auburnette kept Josie at arm's length all the time, not literally but metaphorically by never letting the siphoner in. Josie knew almost nothing about Hope except for the minor details she'd been told from either her parents or her future in-laws even if she'd known the older girl since they'd been children.
Hope was a closed book that Josie intended to open.
