“And why should I believe you?” Eliot tries, but his voice betrays more doubt than he’d like.
“Because if you don’t, when you regain consciousness, Margo will be at your bedside, and she will tell you that Quentin sacrificed himself to trap the Monster in the Seam. You’ll know that you could have stopped it, but it’ll be too late. Do you think you could live with that?” Not-Quentin gives him a knowing look, and goddamnit, it’s just like Quentin’s. Of course it’s just like Quentin’s, because everything in this place is designed to remind him of how much he loves Quentin. Like he’d ever need a reminder.
“Oh, don’t fret, my request is nothing terrible. All I need is for you to go on a quest. And you can even take your Quentin with you. And Margo, of course, I know you’re a package deal.”
