“Hey guys! It's Buck here. So, today’s a very exciting day-”
“Are you seriously vlogging right now?”
Buck instantly stops, and he looks over at his boyfriend, who’s sitting next to him in the car. Buck huffs with annoyance. “ Yes , Edmundo. I am vlogging. Today’s a very special day,” he says. “And I promised my viewers that I would vlog as much as I can for them.”
Eddie raises his eyebrows. “I doubt you’ll be able to vlog anything once we’re inside,”
Buck huffs, and looks back at the camera. “See this guys? This is what I have to put up with all the time, he’s such a grumpy pants. Come on, Eds. This is exciting, isn’t it? We’re going to a freaking red carpet event for one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. That’s huge, especially for a silly old YouTuber like me.”
“Yeah,” Eddie mumbles, and places his hands in between his legs and he glances out the window.
Buck frowns at Eddie’s sudden mood change, and he puts the camera away. “Hey, baby. What’s wrong?” He reaches over and grabs a hold of Eddie’s hand, holding onto it. He wishes they weren’t in a car, otherwise he’d be pulling his boyfriend into his arms to comfort him.
“Nothing. It’s fine, Buck. Don’t worry about me,” Eddie tries to assure him weakly.
“Eddie,” Buck warns. “I’m always going to worry about you. You’re my partner. Now, talk to me.”
Eddie lets out a sigh, and he looks over at Buck. “I guess I’m just… nervous,” he says.
Buck chuckles softly. “Nervous about what? There’s nothing to be nervous about,” he says quietly.
“Really?” Eddie retorts, staring at Buck. “Buck, you’re used to all this stuff. I’m not. I’ve never walked on a red carpet in my life. There’s going to be cameras, and screaming fans and celebrities . I- I really didn’t want to come to this stupid thing, but I wanted to support you.”
Buck frowns. “Eddie, you should have said something,” he says. “I don’t want you to feel pressured.”
“You’re not pressuring me,” Eddie mumbles. “You know how my anxiety gets sometimes. I’m being silly.”
“You’re not being silly. Your reasons for not wanting to come are valid, I should have noticed but I was too focused on the excitement to even notice. I should have noticed,” Buck says.
“Buck,” Eddie warns. “It’s not your job to-”
“But you’re my boyfriend. I should be paying attention,” Buck argues, pouting. “I’m sorry, Eds.”
Eddie squeezes his hand comfortingly. “You don’t need to apologize, Buck. I want you to be excited about the red carpet. It is exciting, and I know how much you love the Jurassic Park movies. You and Christopher make me watch them all the time. I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me.”
“I’m always going to worry about you,” Buck retorts before leaning over to kiss Eddie on the lips.
“We’re here, Buckley.”
Buck looks up when the driver speaks, and the car has stopped moving. He looks over at Eddie, squeezing his hand once more before unbuckling his seatbelt. He already has his camera out, ready to start filming at any moment, because he knows it’s about to be crazy out there.
The door opens, and Buck winces when he hears the sound of screaming fans. He looks over at Eddie, who gives him a reassuring nod. Buck lets out a sigh before stepping out of the car, waving to a few fans who have noticed him already. He turns and watches as Eddie slides across the seat, and then helps him out of the car. He grins, and hands Eddie the camera. “Can you vlog?”
“You want me to vlog?” Eddie asks, his eyes.
“You don’t have to film anything, just film me walking around and stuff,” Buck says.
Eddie rolls his eyes playfully, and presses record on the camera, before lifting it up to Buck’s face. “Action,”
Buck laughs. “You don’t have to say action,” he says, and he looks over when he hears someone shouting his name, and sees a woman walking towards him. “Oh! Marie, lovely to see you again.”
“I’m glad you could make it. It’s kind of chaotic right now, because some of the big stars have arrived, and lucky for you I’ve managed to set you up for a red carpet interview with Chris Pratt,” she says.
“What?” Buck squeaks out, and his eyes widen with shock.
“I thought it might be good for your content-” She points at the camera before looking back at Buck.
“B- But I don’t even have any questions prepared, or anything! No one told me-”
“Just ask about the movie, ask about the excitement of working with the original cast. Stuff like that,” Marie tells him, giving him a reassuring smile. “You’re going to be just fine. Chris Pratt is a nice fella. Come with me, I can get you a good spot on the red carpet.”
Buck whines, and he looks over at Eddie. “Eds-”
“Go,” Eddie encourages him, stepping closer and gently nudging Buck to follow Marie.
Eddie grins, and follows Buck when he starts walking.
Buck’s heart is pounding against his chest as he follows Marie. He certainly didn’t think that he would be interviewing anyone from the cast. He thought he was just going to walk the red carpet, vlog a few things. He can’t wait to tell Christopher that he got the opportunity to interview Owen Grady.
“You think I can get him to say hi to Christopher?” Buck asks when they’re waiting to interview Chris now. Buck can see the man. He’s only a few feet away now, slowly being led towards Buck.
“I think Christopher would love that if you did, but don’t be disappointed if you can’t,” Eddie says.
“Here we go. This is Evan Buckley, one of the newest stars on YouTube,” Marie introduces as Chris Pratt walks up to him, and Eddie instantly turns on the camera, wanting to record everything in this moment.
“Hello,” Chris introduces, reaching over to shake Buck’s hand.
“Hi!” Buck squeaks. “Hi. You must be… this must be very exciting. This event-”
Chris chuckles, and nods. “Yeah, it’s pretty crazy, but it’s special. It’s a special event.”
Buck gets to spend a few minutes with Chris Pratt, asking him questions about the movie and the cast, and he’s surprised at how calm the interview is, and how easy it is to talk to such a celebrity like him.
“Oh, before you have to go… I know you’re busy but, our son absolutely loves this franchise and Owen is one of his favorite characters from Jurassic World,” Buck quickly adds. “Is it too much to ask for a shoutout for him? He’s ten years old.”
Chris nods. “Oh, that’s awesome. What’s the little guy’s name?”
Buck grins. “You’d be pleased to know that his name is Christopher,” he says.
“That’s awesome, dude. Christopher is a great name, for a great kid-”
“The best,” Buck adds, glancing back at Eddie.
“Well, hello to Christopher, and I hope he enjoys the new movie. I wish I could stay and chat more but I’m being pulled away by my manager now. It was nice to meet you Buck,”
Buck’s eyes widen as he watches Chris Pratt being pulled away. He looks over at Eddie, still in shock. “Eddie- holy shit,” he gasps out, grabbing onto his boyfriend.
“You fucking did it, Buck,” Eddie says, smiling proudly at his boyfriend. “You interviewed Chris Pratt .”
“This vlog is going to be fucking epic!” Buck exclaims, whooping in victory.
“I can’t wait to show Chris,” Eddie says, and turns off the camera. He steps closer to Buck, and wraps an arm around him. “I’m so proud of you. I may not be cut out for this, but you certainly are. You’re a star.”
Buck blushes. “I- I don’t know about all that-”
“Shut up, and let me be sappy about my boyfriend being successful,” Eddie warns playfully.
Buck snorts, and leans over to kiss Eddie’s cheek. “Alright, I’ll let you,” he says.
Buck gets to walk the red carpet, and he’s glad that Eddie gets to join him for a bit, but Buck doesn’t make Eddie stay on the red carpet for long due to his anxiety.
Finally, they get to go inside and watch the movie.
Buck is on cloud nine by the time they get out of the movie. He’s standing with Eddie in the lobby when he pulls out his camera again.
“Guys,” Buck begins, and ignores the way Eddie laughs at him. “Shut up, Eddie. I need to vlog this. Anyways, guys. The movie was incredible, and- and the red carpet was incredible. I can’t believe today, and I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you guys, so thank you. Hopefully you enjoy the vlog. But, I’m exhausted so this will probably be the end of the vlog. Eddie, thoughts?” He glances over at Eddie, who’s leaning against Buck with his cheek resting on Buck’s shoulder.
“No thank you,” Eddie mumbles, avoiding looking at the camera,
Buck chuckles softly, shaking his head. “Typical of you, Eds. You know one day I’m gonna make it so that you’re not so awkward in front of a camera,” he says.
Eddie snorts. “Good luck with that,” he says, before looking up at Buck. “Can we go home now?”
Buck can’t help but grin at his boyfriend. “Yeah, let’s go home.”
