Taking that cup’s brother was a stroke of genius.
As Devil waited for Henchman to return from getting the mug ‘settled in’, he couldn’t help but feel very happy.
He may not have his pitchfork, but he did have leverage to get it back.
(And maybe a soul too)
It took his favourite (although he’ll never say) imp a bit long to return, but oh well.
“How’s Mugman doing, Henchman?”
He was waiting to hear the mug was crying, pleading for his brother to come save him, suffering….
“Duh….her name’s Mugsy, Boss. She’s a girl.”
Anything than what Henchman said.
‘She’s just like me’ was the first thing to go through his mind.
And while the one thing he hated more than those cups was his past…
He actually felt a bit glad to know he wasn’t the only one.
It was….oddly comforting, in a way.
“…..are you okay, Boss?” Henchman’s voice cut through his thoughts.
“What? Oh! Yes, just….thinking. About that cup’s…..sister.”
He knew that Henchman could see through it, but neither of them said anything.
‘She’s just like me’, it was true.
“How is she doing, Henchman?” he asked, desperate to fill the silence.
(He didn’t want to think about HER)
“I put her where you told me to, Boss.”
Being evil….
“Good, thank you, Henchman. Now we just wait.”
Being evil wasn’t the only reason he became the Devil.
He also wanted no one to know the girl he used to be.
