Chapter Text
Here he was once again being asked out by a girl. Bruce Yamada starred at the girl in front of him, Lucy was her name, he knows who she is because not only has she asked him out before but she’s also the schools cheerleading captain.
“Bruce, I know you want to date me, any guy would die to date me so please don’t reject me again.” Lucy said, “Everyone will be talking about us, the schools best baseball player and the cheerleading captain dating”. She gave him a big smile.
Bruce knew he was going to reject her but he knew she would never leave him alone. “Look Lucy, it’s not you okay, I just don’t think I want a relationship right now”, he said hoping that’s enough for her to leave but of course he was wrong.
“Come on!”, she yelled. “You’ve rejected me five times already, what’s wrong with me?” She said her eyes looking so close to spilling tears, “why don’t you want to date me?”
Bruce sighed and put a hand on her shoulder, “it’s not you Lucy, I promise. I just-“ he hesitated, he wanted to tell her in hopes for her to leave him alone, he’s done it before and it worked, none of the girls said anything to anyone about him so he decided to just say it. “I’m gay”, he said looking at her as her eyes widened, “please don’t tell anyone”.
Lucy just stood there, her eyes still slightly wide as she starred at him. He just sighed and gave her a soft smile.
“I’ll see you around Lucy”, he said after five minutes of just standing there, she didn’t say anything after that either, she just watched him as he walked away towards his house.
When he got home he went straight to his room, he hated it, hated the fact that he had to reject every girl that asked him out because he didn’t feel anything, hated the fact that he couldn’t be normal like his baseball friends, hated the fact that if his parents found out they would probably kick him out. He lays on his bed, hoping Lucy leaves him alone, he knows that one day he wants to come out to the whole school, coming out to one person at a time can sometimes be helpful.
He took out his phone and texted Lucy on instagram.
bruceyamada07: Hey Lucy, I hope that what I told you stays between us, you didn’t say anything so I decided to leave so hopefully you got home safe. sent.
After he sent the message, he got out his homework and started working on it. After 30 minutes he opened his phone and say that Lucy saw his message but didn’t say anything. Bruce only hoped for the best. All the other girls he’s told have answered him, yes some of them blocked him but they always texted back with something along the lines of “I won’t say shit”. He expected something from Lucy, but he never received anything.
Only in the next day did he receive something from Lucy, but not only from Lucy but what seemed all the girls that he came out to and probably the whole baseball team.
Lucy outed him.
lucylakes: bruce, I really like you a lot so I’m sorry about outing you but I needed to do something. I needed to let my anger and hate for you out. I’m not homophobic, I swear, I know that this will give me so much drama and attention.
Bruce just starred at her message, hoping it didn’t mean what it did. She actually outed him because he rejected her. Bruce couldn’t believe it. How could he be so stupid?
A knock from his door shut down all of his thoughts, “Bruce, why aren’t you out already?, we are going to be lateeee” called out Amy as she walked away from the door . Bruce just stood there, he couldn’t go to school, he couldn’t.
He knew if he went he would lose everything. All his friends, all his popularity, all his hard work just because someone decided to out him. Everything came crashing down at once and he started crying. He was already dressed for school, sitting at the corner of his room just crying. He didn’t want to leave, he couldn’t leave. What would his parents think? He hoped that the news wouldn’t spread to his parents but knowing his luck they would probably know by the end of the week.
Amy knocked the door again, “bruce”, this time it was of a whisper, “I saw it, I don’t hate you and I understand why you won’t come out of your room but mom and dad don’t know yet, you know they won’t let you stay”. The yet in her words stayed in his mind as he went to wipe the tears and fixed himself up before opening the door.
“Oh Bruce” said Amy before she hugged him tightly, Bruce let started crying again, he couldn’t stop crying and he knew he would be like that for the rest of the day. “We need to go or else mom and dad will think something is up”, she said as she let go of Bruce. He wiped his tears again and walked out of the door without saying anything to his parents.
He waited for Amy as they made their way to her school, Bruce didn’t want her to leave, he knew people would start starting at him as soon as he entered the school, so he planned on entering and running straight to the restrooms.
And that’s what he did. Everyone stared at him as he walked, well jogged to boys restrooms. He felt his baseball team all stare at him and he was afraid they would follow him to the restrooms. They didn’t but someone else did.
“So Bruce Yamada is a faggot, huh”, Bruce wanted to go home, that was Moose, the schools known bully. Bruce has never talked to Moose but he knows that every time someone gets exposed Moose is the first person to shit on them.
If Bruce was being completely honest, he hoped that something would just kill him, he’s never thought about suicide before but today seemed like a good day to drown himself with the toilet water.
