   Summary

   The first time he dared to leave the cabin on his own, Roach had greeted him enthusiastically in the galley with a steaming mug of what looked and smelled like coffee.

   Izzy gazed at the cup and then back to Roach’s face. His smile didn’t reach his eyes, Izzy didn’t need his years of closely reading lying sailors to see that it was false.

   He grabbed the mug and nodded his head in thanks. He even took a sip as he walked from the room, but spat it out as soon as he got to the ship’s railing. He poured the rest of the liquid out after it. Glaring as the murky brown seemed to dissolve into the blue waves.

   They’d have to wake up earlier in the day if they wanted to poison him.
