11th day of NEWS: Baby it’s cold outside

Summary:

11th NEWS Advent Calendar Drabble (KoyaMassu)
This evening has been so, very nice but Koyama really can't stay.

Notes:

It's exactly what you think it is given the title BUT it's not a creepy I promise. They're both flirting here <3

Work Text:

Even if he was afraid to be alone with Massu at first, Koyama must admit that the evening went very well. The alcohol gives him hot flashes but nothing unpleasant. He doesn't mind being a bit dizzy too, and it feels strangely safe in Massu's apartment. Because it’s just the two of them, Koyama doesn't have to worry about things turning wrong either. His colleague has been drinking less than him anyway – or at least he handles it better.

One look at the clock makes him sigh as their last burst of laugh fades in.

“I should go.”

Something he can't quite define comes over Massu's face.

“Now?”
“It's getting late,” Koyama manages to say, rubbing his own face to wake himself up, and of course Massu notices.
“You shouldn't drive in this state,” He points out.
“Don’t worry, I'll call a taxi.”
“That late?”

Koyama gives him a questioning look. He doesn’t dare to draw conclusions, but Massu’s blushing a little and it’s adorable, just as expected. It’s so rare to see him embarrassed that the older one hopes he could take a picture because he doesn’t trust himself to remember it tomorrow.

“It doesn't sound safe to let you go now, that’s all.”

Koyama gets up to prove he can manage, except he trips over nothing and Massu has to hold him by the elbows to steady him. His grip is firm. Koyama wonders if Massu is firm in the bedroom too and immediately feels his face warming up when he realizes.

“I really should go,” He tries without determination.
“It's cold outside,” Massu argues as a last resort.
“Milk's been alone all day.”
“You should at least drink something before leaving.”

Massu doesn’t let go and his face is still really close, so Koyama can see his expression very well. His eyes are filled with concern and... a touch of hope, possibly, when he notices Koyama can't help but grin.

“Are you trying to get me drunk, Masuda?”
“I meant a glass of water, Koyama,” Massu replies with a haughty smile.

Maybe he knows he has already won but Koyama doesn't want to make it too easy for him.

“What would your neighbors say?”
“Don't think about it. Fans will be happy to know we're such good friends that you've been to my place.”
“You're so professional,” Koyama teases before stepping back and grabbing his jacket.
“You'll freeze out there. What if you caught pneumonia?”
“Lend me a scarf, then.”

Hearing no response, Koyama turns around. Massu is staring, a few steps away, confused for no apparent reason.

“Your eyes are like starlight…”

Koyama shudders and Massu pretends to find it worrying.

“Look, you're freezing already,” He says as he moves closer to rub his arms. “I have an extra futon.”
“Is that so?” Koyama murmurs, so close that Massu has to squint a little (he would laugh if he wasn't so thrilled).
“We don’t have to use it.”

Koyama exhales sharply when Massu slides his hands up to his neck. He can't take it anymore.

“Please, kiss me.”
