Phoenix and Moon, two teenagers, have somehow traveled into a different universe. They wake up in a strange alley, no clue of where they were. They met some strange blonde boy, who Phoenix knows, but wont tell Moon or the boy, Tommy.

They slowly figure out their powers, Phoenix struggling more than Moon, and find family figures along the way.

The question is: will they ever get home?

Chapter 1: the beginning.

Chapter Text

Phoenix and their friend Moon were hanging out at a cafe. Phoenix had an iced vanilla late and Moon had some weird-sounding black coffee. The two of them were just talking about some homework they got during english.

“I still don’t understand why she gave us homework to do during fall break!” Phoenix complained, putting their head down on the table face-first.

Moon just quietly laughed, patting them on the head. “I know, I don’t understand why, either, Phoen.”

Phoenix smiled at the nickname, quickly moving onto the next question in their brain. “Have you looked at the homework yet? I was too busy finishing some history stuff.”

Moon thought about it, trying to remember what the homework was. “I think it was something about vocabulary choices? I’m not too sure.”

Phoenix nodded as a thanks, taking a sip of their coffee at the same time Moon did.

The two friends were staying over at Moon’s house for the weekend since Phoenix’s parents were out for work, and their brother was at his friend’s house.

Moon’s mom was also out for work, so the only other person there was Moon’s brother, Maysen.

The two of them were laying on Moon’s bed, Phoenix scrolling through instagram as Moon was doing whatever on her phone.

There was a knock on the door, Maysen opening it after Moon said he could come in.

“You two try to get some sleep, alright? We’re going out tomorrow, remember.” He mentioned.

Moon nodded, and Phoenix put their phone next to them, plugging it in and doing the same for Moon’s after Maysen left and Moon handed it to them.

After a bit, the two of them drift off, not aware of the trouble they’re about to go through when they wake up.

Phoenix woke up to someone shaking their shoulders. “-ix… Phoenix..! Come on, wake up!”

They slowly opened up their eyes, seeing Moon above them, looking different. “Moon..? Why is there a black scratch on your face?”

“Listen, Phoenix, we aren’t at my house, and I have no idea where we are!” She said quietly, but somehow yelling at the same time.

“Huh? Whaddya mean? We fell asleep in your room though?” They tiredly said, confusion obvious.

Moon helped them sit up, Phoenix slowly looking around at the alley way they’re in. “I-I know, but-” before she could finish, there was a loud crash coming from behind her, making both of them jump.

Phoenix immediately went into action, standing up and pulling Moon behind them.

Phoenix’s face got a weird look on it as they saw a familiar face, laying on the ground and struggling to move. They knew him, but they couldn’t remember how.

“Uh, dude?” Phoenix quietly asked, the guy flinching once he heard their voice. He hurried to sit up, making a few pained noises that the normal human ear couldn’t hear, but somehow Phoenix could. “Woah, dude, chill,” Phoenix hurriedly said. “You’ll hurt yourself even more.”

Once he made eye contact with Phoenix, it was like they were hit by a bus of memories. They understood who he was, but how were they seeing him here? He’s British, and they live in America.

“Holy- I know you!” They shouted out, making him flinch again. He tilted his head in confusion, not knowing how the stranger knew him, his dirty blonde curls following the movement.

“Wait, Phoen, how do you know this guy? I’ve never seen him before..?” Moon asked quietly from behind them, her hand slowly going on their shoulder.

Phoenix gave her a look that meant I’ll tell you later and then looked back at the blonde. “You’re Tommy, right?” They asked, taking a small step closer to the dude with a weird-looking mask on.

He slowly nodded as he stood, “How do you know me?” Then, his eyes went wide. “Are you a mercenary??” He asked, getting into a slightly defensive stance.

Phoenix’s eyes went wide, “What? No! I- Just nevermind. Forget I said anything.”
