cause your eyes have turned new (since back then i turned blue)

Summary:

all mike knows for sure is that he’s not too over the moon about will disappearing all the time. he knows that there’s superheroes in every corner of new york which are they to protect everyone but he can’t help but be worried when will is our past midnight.

mike wants to just pressure the answer out of will, but they’re adults now. will deserves his privacy and can go out whenever he wishes, why should mike be the one to stop him?

will probably just has a secret lover who lives on the upper east side of manhattan in a penthouse and doesn’t mind dropping him home in his own personal limousine.

the thought of will having a secret and rich partner does give mike an unidentifiable pain but he has no choice but to brush it aside. besides, this is the only logical reasoning behind will’s disappearances.

or so he thought.

Chapter 1: mike wheeler is not a bad boy

Chapter Text

it didn’t take mike wheeler very long to figure out that he had absolutely no potential when it came to becoming a bad boy.

sure he had the black messy hair and leather jackets, but apparently balling your eyes out at the ending of the first season of young royals isn’t very bad-boy-esque. (which he thought was a totally reasonable response, like “merry christmas”?? are you serious??). he was also aware that watching R rated shows while hiding under his bed sheets also shouldn’t be the most rebellious thing a “bad boy” has ever done.

don’t even get him started on the time that he attempted to use black eyeliner and ended up looking like he had a black eye or the time eddie leant him his guitar to give it a try. eddie let him know straight away that he had never heard a more atrocious sound come out of a guitar by snatching it right back off him. (it didn’t sound that bad to mike, but even sleep-through-an-earthquake steve harrington woke up to see what the ruckus was)

he officially gave up on his bad boy hopes and dreams while he was listing off his problems to lucas and erica interrupted their conversation.

“you simply have no rizz” she shrugged, and lucas seemed to nod in agreement.

wth is a rizz? how does someone have it??

mike just pretended he knew what she was referring to just to spare himself from the embarrassment. that day ended with him asking reddit the question “wth is rizz?” as soon as he got home in the hopes of finding an answer.

for some god for saken reason, the question had only reached the reddit millennials who seemed even more confused on what “rizz” was than himself. mike just accepted that he was meant to be rizz-less at this point.

but back on to the bad boy topic, mike finds it slightly concerning that his best friend who used to have a bowl cut and has never had a romantic relationship in his life has more bad boy potential than him? now that the two are roommates at NYU, mike is seeing wayyy more into will’s life.

like who knew that will would make a habit of mysteriously disappearing in the middle of the night, coming home worn out and tired?? one time mike watched him come out of a whole ass limo through their apartment window.

and of course, will was hot. way hotter than mike knew he would ever be himself. like in a single night of clubbing or drinking, will always has a handful of girls and guys come up and ask him for his number. (some VERY attractive guys). will would always politely tell them that he wasn’t interested while i stood next to him in shock. mike might not know what “rizz” is but will definitely has it.

all of these things about will sounded like a bad boy martini along with a shot of rebellion to mike but then again how would he know?
