That was perfect. Ronan is true to character, very, very convincing; Adam too and funny (such a mess, still learning so many things); Gansey the king with perfect manners but real sentiments we know and Blue & Noah have nice moments. The titles were also really fun and well-found! All in all, I loved everything.

"The next four months of Adam’s visits they spend a ton of time together. It’s election season so Gansey is ridiculously busy, pulled in various directions by his family. Blue and Noah are around some but a lot of nights it’s just Adam and Ronan. Ronan and Adam. It’s Adam texting as he leaves the office to offer to pick up take out. It’s Ronan texting him at work with pictures of the chickens or some monstrous vegetable the kids have grown on his plot. It’s inside jokes and new traditions and casual gifts that aren’t so casual at all. It’s adam changing his flights to extend his stays to include the weekends. It’s catching Ronan looking at him and letting himself look back. Sometimes. It’s not like Adam doesn’t think about attempting something more with Ronan. It’s all he can think about some nights. But Adam is nothing if not smart and cautious. He’s had more than enough relationships that ended badly because of his own shortcomings. He won’t make that mistake again, not with someone as important to him as Ronan."
"Adam and Ronan had fought Christmas Eve. They’d said shitty things and hadn’t spoken since. But still, Ronan had bought him the most thoughtful gift he’d ever received. He closes his eyes for a long moment and then pulls out his phone.
Hey. I’m sorry we fought. I hope you aren’t still mad. Happy new year.
And then. I miss you.""Ronan says, voice rough, leaning his long body against the jamb. He looks soft and sad. He looks like home."
"That Ronan-specific conscientiousness is just the tip of the iceberg that night. It’s walking into the party, shoulder to shoulder, like brothers in arms facing an enemy together. It’s Ronan standing on Adam’s right side, whispering snarky comments and petty, mean observations into Adam’s good ear. It’s Ronan switching to Adam’s left side when people approach, shielding his deaf side. It’s catching his eye across the room when they get separated, the knowing smirk and eye-roll so familiar they make Adam’s nerves settle. It’s coming back together and Ronan handing Adam a sprite disguised as a cocktail to prevent Adam from feeling out of place. It’s dozens of little acts that add up to something so much bigger than the sum of its parts."
