Summary
The International Skating Union, reluctant enough to allow alphas and betas to compete against one another in the past decade, does not under any circumstances allow omegas to compete in their events. When Yuuri is hit with an unexpected heat in the middle of the Grand Prix Final and is discovered as secretly being an omega, he is firmly banned from competing under the ISU. Luckily, Viktor Nikiforov - Yuuri's longtime skating idol who played an unsettlingly mysterious role in Yuuri's banishment from the ISU - has found a loophole, and he has a plan.
Yuuri must travel to St. Petersburg where he doesn't know the language, the land, or the people if he wishes to compete, and he must practice alongside skaters who are more advanced than him, more consistent than him, and likely hate him. Not only dealing with the ridicule for being the first omega to compete in the professional leagues, but also with the ridicule for "forcing" Viktor to leave competition in order to be his coach, Yuuri has to juggle everything going on with the fact that he is so, so, so confused about what's going on between him and Viktor.
