Work Text:
The moon is big.
It makes Pearl feel dizzy and flushed and her wings feel heavy on her back.
She isn’t alone in this feeling.
Pearl is curled up against Ren’s chest, his soft fur hot against her already burning skin. She doesn’t mind the heat though, just listens quietly to the loud thump thump thump of his heart and the rise and fall of his chest.
Ren is sick as well, he’s panting and sweaty and can hardly move enough to even wag his tail.
Doc called it Moonsickness.
“The moon affects many creatures, you see,” he told them “with it being so close to us right now it’s overwhelming your senses.”
Pearl didn’t quite understand what that meant, but she was comfortable and safe curled up with Ren, so she doesn’t mind.
