Gabe might’ve been right; but the thing was, Mikey really didn’t want to take advice from Gabe right now. She knew it must’ve been complicated for him. Their constant swing of touch-and-go, the on-again-off-again sort of romance that left them swirling like tornados, tearing up everyone else in their path. Pete was the latest victim. The off-again period fell into a fling, a romance that was only supposed to reach till the end of the summer; at least, that was all Mikey had intended from it. A warm bunk after the exhausting days on the Warped Tour, and a body to keep her occupied until Hurricane Gabe rolled back into her life, where he always belonged. But Pete had different plans. The nights accented with poetry on his blog and whispers of a ring to tie it all together.
